Mexican Riviera 2/27 - 3/6 - DisneyZell TR new 3/31: FINISHED!!!

Our neighbors, meanwhile, took a taxi over to one of the islands in the picture above, told him when they wanted to be picked up and he left. They enjoyed a couple of hours on the sand...apparently only one other family was there so it was really fun. they were a bit nervous about the taxi...but right on time he came and picked them up. they really enjoyed it and I'll try it if we go back...so it's something to think about if you are on a future cruise!

The rest of the afternoon was spent doing the usual...pizza, reading, and laying out.

You can see he is related to Superhero Me.

it's a bird...it's a plane...or is it a great white beached whale. You see that my disguise is quite good.

DW and I discussed what to do and saw that there was another DVC presentation. Feeling that the curse of the Gemstone Seminar had to life eventually we decided to brave another hour of the same thing we already saw. Yes, we are cheap and hoped to get $300. Now, we could have not upgraded and saved a lot more than that....but why bother when we can enjoy learning more about the point system??

Well, we didn't win the $300. But we did win a luggage tag which filled our collection (we had a Wonder one, a Magic one and now a DVC one). So would you say the curse of the Gemstone Seminar was over? Me either. :)

That night we were going to Palo for dinner, but went down with the kids for at least the beginning of dinner.

See, they clean up nice.

Connor got army men from a Fish Extender and had a grand old time. I feel sorry for them, though as many of them were thrown in a vat of water throughout dinner.

Then it was off to dinner for us.

Waiting to go in

We had Vladimir again and again he was ok. The biggest advantage of him being just ok was that I didn't walk out of there exploding. Frankly the really good wait staff will end up bringing you a whole bunch of stuff you didn't order to try. He didn't really push that...so that was good. I do think we all had two desserts though :)

You have to have the soufflé, and I really like their Tiramisu. Yum!

If you were reading my earlier installments (and if you weren't I'm not impressed with you cheating), you read that we embarrassed our assistant server, Maggie about her boyfriend in Palo. Naturally we had to have a picture.

DSC_0583.jpg

Yes we are silly Americans.

After Palo we did a few pictures...or maybe it was before Palo. That makes more sense since it's the restaurant the kids ate dinner in.

DSC_0575.jpg

I give you this picture because you should have seen where my hand was right before the picture got taken. That would have taken the rating up on this TR. :scared1:

DSC_0576.jpg

DW and Superhero Me, still in disguise.

the two older kids hit the pool yet again (time to chase the girls). Connor picked out Kindergarten Cop and we asked for it to be delivered. DW crashed while I watched the movie with Connor. Shortly thereafter Nick returned from the pool and both kids promptly fell asleep...so much for the movie! Plain Tuckered out.

So that's it for today's painful submission. Hope you mustered through, thanks for your attention...have a nice day. :)

Next Up: Chapter 10: back to the Port...oh wait...it's a day at sea.

I sincerely doubt DW is laughing AT you, but rather WITH you! Life's too short not to do a lot of laughing. It also makes the years go quicker than you'd ever realize. Certainly doesn't seem like yesterday with us, but it certainly does NOT seem like it's been 30 years!

Is there something special about the Fantasy on that date?

Last, and certainly not least, you shouldn't be taking time out from your TR to be making us the beautiful door signs that you've made! Thank you! We can't wait for the ever changing door signs throughout our cruise. I'm sure you'll be surprising us with many more during that week!

Pretty soon, everyone waiting for the trip report will be gunning for me. :scared1:

I agree...we are coming up on year 16 in June. Crazy how fast it goes...Don't tell her, but DW is far and away my best friend. I know I drive her crazy sometimes...and of course vice-versa...but we very much enjoy each others company...and see eye to eye on most everything, especially when it relates to the kids which is key.

Nothing special other than April break for our kids :)

I'm all about rotating signs. I see we need some pirate ones. Those will come up next.

you can all PM QuiltTeddy to complain. :lmao:

I've always said that DH isn't my "better half", but he IS my "other half". Life just wouldn't have been the same over the last *gasp* 30 years (both good and bad) were he not there step by step with me.

:rotfl2: You kill me....almost as much as I kill myself! I'm always told I'm brought along for entertainment purposes and I can clearly see you are too!! :lmao:

PS....look at the bright side of this entire banter.....you just might actually finish this TR.....no less....before I leave on Saturday!! Another great installment! :thumbsup2

DZ and DZ wife, are you booked on the Dec15 2012 Fantasy Cruise? If you you need to be> You guys crack me up!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well, if everyone would like to take up a collection, we certainly can be! But no, our plans are for the April 21, 2012 Fantasy sailing...spring break in NH. See, I have to get out of New Hampshire as much as I can in the winter time (and unfortunately only during school breaks)...and yes, April is still winter here...this morning it was 30 degrees outside:scared1:

Disneyzell wife (maybe I'll actually get my own username and that is what I will be!

Aahhh, sometimes he says the nicest things! That is why we are still together after all these years. I do hope you enjoy him on your cruise...we'll miss him here terribly!

First off, I'm loving the trip reports!

So, knowing that I am only allotted one question, I've saved it up to make sure that I had it for the right moment. And the big question is....

Where is the chess table? I don't remember seeing one the two times we sailed on the Wonder on the east coast, nor does the bar in the background look familiar.

Would you mind passing on the secret location?

Thanks again for your musings. :)

Guess what? Without each other, you wouldn't be one. That's what makes it so wonderful and worth all the ups and downs over the years! ;)

We will try to keep him busy and since you'll miss him so much, we've decided we will spring for the wireless plan. This way, as he beds down for the night in his trunk he will be able to Skype with you. Hope that works!

Perfect! You really are big spenders...I hope the silk sheets didn't put you too far in debt. You have to have money for those drink of the day's!

Well, since I am answering this one (DZ wife), we won't count this question against you...the chess tables are down in Diversions. They also have checkers and a bunch of board games you can play. It's funny b/c the only times I have been down there are for the DVC presentations and meeting up for the dolphin excursion. I have heard they offer appetier type food in the evenings, but have never been down there at those times...just goes to show you that even after 4 week long cruises, we still have not done/seen everything!

Don't worry at all about that. We took out a second on the house, so all is good in cruise land, not to mention I'm a very cheap date and one of those drinks puts me out!

I thought that might be the case, but I couldn't remember if guests under 21 were allowed in there. I have been at night a few times to play games with our adult family members before, and they do indeed have some finger food. I was pleasantly surprised at its quality, but seeing that you're eating non-stop on the boat, I wouldn't recommended making a special stop for it.

Thanks for the heads-up on where to find it!

The dolphin excursion looks fun!!
Looking forward to more updates...

I'm a firm believer that we paid for the cruise you can pretty much do what you like (clearly this is DH again...DW would never do that). Obviously I'm sensitive to the adults only areas...and would imaging that the bar would be at night...but during the day and early evening I believe it's all good.

Now, don't come cryin' to me when they throw you out! :lmao:

It definately had it's moments. The water was clear, clean, but very cold. Even in the wetsuit...though once the cold water seeped in and warmed against my body I was all set. And since I'm Superhero Me! it didn't affect me. Really.

Before you get too excited...I can't take credit for the basics of these, that credit goes to Millipie (her site is here: http://www.4shared.com/dir/19077581/4fa6c900/sharing.html

If you use her stuff, please IM her so she is aware. As you can see from all of her stuff she is very talented :)

oh, and here is her design thread, though I'm not sure she is taking any more requests.

Anyway, thank you :) :cool1:

Thanks you so much for the info! :yay:

man DW has been busy on the thread today. We hear nada out of her for a while and then *wham* non-stop :)

Glad to hear your second mortgage application went through, I was concerned that you might try to sneak in "satin" sheets in place of the Silk that my sensitive skin needs.

and thanks for springing for the wireless. Now I can play Call of Duty online while on the high seas. :thumbsup2

Yes, and that would go to prove that the one door magnet you made merely needs to have the 30 changed to 16. ;) Your DW did not, however, weigh in about the book. :confused3

No, we realize that having our door properly decorated, although costly, is vital to our cruise. Once I realized exactly how high maintenance you actually are, there was no other choice but to take out the second.

What is "Call of Duty"?

Finally, where's our next installment? Time is ticking away....... :rotfl:

It is excellent that you have realized the importance of door decoration. You have been fully indoctrinated at this point.

Second, Call of Duty is a video game...one of those shoot-em-up video games. It's bad. Really adictive. Actually I don't know if you can play on a computer, but I'm sure I will find out while in my trunk.

Speaking of which..It just dawned on me I will be going in with all the other luggage. You can't walk on with a trunk. that...might....be....scary :scared1:

Finally, for someone that seems so nice you sure are getting pushy as you move toward your cruise date. Sheesh! :lmao:

DisneyZell – I'm so glad you're continuing with your TR – keep up the good work! You do look like something of a SuperHero in that wet suit. I was so excited to read and to see the beautiful photos of your dolphin swim excursion as I've booked it for myself as well. I have so many questions (I know I'm using my full allotment of questions for the day and I'm warning you in advance some questions may be stupid which I'm known for asking!). (1) Did your family take those photos with you and the dolphin or were they professional pictures? I thought you couldn't bring a camera into the facility. (2) Did they provide everyone with wetsuits? What happens if they run out of your size? (3) You mentioned that the dolphins were slippery – would your hands slip off the dolphin if it was propelling you in the water very fast? I'm really scared about that. (4) I noticed that your hair didn't get wet – do they not require you to shower first before entering the water? (5) I've never worn a wet suit before, would you wear your bathing suit underneath the wet suit? (6) I'm not a good swimmer (not good at treading water either), will I be okay? (7) Does the facility have women/men change rooms so that you can shower and change after the swim? (8) Is the pool fresh water or salt water? (9) Is there anything I should bring along that was not provided? THANK YOU so much in advance for your help!!
