I have to say, even though I don't live in NJ, I'm getting a kick out of the Corzine/Forrester ads. :earseek: Each day it just gets nastier and nastier. :rotfl2:

Does anyone else think that Fernando Ferrer looks like Groucho Marx? I like his new ad with the dancing. The Bloomberg ads are about as exciting as watching paint dry.

Up in my neck of the woods, the politicians are big into giving out emery boards with their names on them. Somehow I've never felt compelled to vote based on which candidate made my nails look better. ;) :teeth:

Did you see the latest bunch from NJ? One of the candidate's ex-wife (I think it was Corzine) had some not so very nice things to say about him.

I don't live in the city, but I work there. Sometimes I wish I could get half a vote, after all, the mayor's policies will be part of my life.

Doesn't Ferrer now have an ad featuring Rev. Al Sharpton doing some type of dance? I caught a snippet of it last night on O'Reilly -- he was interviewing Sharpton and I was clicking around trying to find something to watch. The video of Al doing some kind of bad Macarena imitation caught my eye for a few seconds. What is up with that?

Yep, that's the dancing one. :rotfl2:

I saw the black and white ad they put up with a quote from Corzine's wife. It looks like she said it the day before in an article in the Times.

It started out as such a nice campaign, but boy, did it get ugly. :earseek:

Sadly, campaigns turn ugly very easily. I'd like to believe that most candidates would prefer to wage a positive campaign, but the overwhelming need to win (often at all costs) usually leads someone to unleash some sort of attack. Once the first bit of mud is thrown, it quickly becomes a free-for-all and all bets are off.

I am already dreading the 2006 elections and before those are over the 2008 elections will start. I don't think this is what the Founding Fathers had in mind.

I've already sent my absentee ballot in because I'll be WDW (yippee) during the election. I am just so sick of these ads and have completely tuned them out!

Didn't Corzine cheat on his now ex-wife? I think the other woman is the head of some union.

I saw today a NJ gubernatorial ad--don't remember which candidate--bashing the opponent for bringing in smear tactic to NJ politics. That just cracked me up.

my mouth dropped open when I saw the Forrester ad...basically it's a letter from Corzine's ex wife ...let me paraphrase...
"when Andrea Forrester says she knows Doug won't let New Jersey down because he's never let their family down, all I can think about is how John let our family down..."

the ex wife has no class, and Forrester should be ashamed for running that ad.

Politicans and shame -- it's like vinegar and oil -- they just don't mix well.

I love Corzine's "Forrester...he's George Bush's choice for Govenor" ad!! Is that a negative attack ad or what!?!? :rotfl:

EMERY BOARDS??? Gee... I'm not that far from you,,, (I'm in that town that ole Al Sharpton made famous years ago)... I haven't seen anybody handing anything... sigh!.. Oh, wait..that's right. our town supervisor is running against... nobody!

I spent about a wondering what the heck the name of the candidate against Corzine was. He seemed like with the negative ads they used Corzine's name so much that that's all that would stick in the mind... not the name of the one running against him.. who is... Forrester?? See.. I'm not even sure! But I do remember that someone just wrote he kinda looks like Groucho Marx!

and to think a year ago - Forrester would be bragging about that in HIS ads!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I don't understand why Bloomberg is spending so much money on his campaign. Every NYC dem I know is voting for him. I would too if I still lived there. :confused3

I don't get it either?!?! I know I'm voting for him...he's been a great mayor and as a bleeding-heart, upper west side liberal, I have no problem giving his kind of Republican my vote!

If I lived in the city, I would vote for Bloomberg too.

I have yet to see an ad that shows anything possitive about Forrester. Including his own ads. I am very familiar with Corzine and he's voted the way I like as a Senator representing me.

Dh and I were talking this evening and we don't know who to vote for...both candidates are not really all that great....and I agree, the commercials on tv and the radio are getting worse every day.

I voted for McGreevey a few years back.......right now, he's not looking so bad after all.

It makes me not even want to vote.

Moonmom, are you in Wappingers? Let me guess, you were here during the Sharpton/Tawana Brawley debacle. I can't stand the sight of him ever since.

I have a spare emery board. It's very patriotic, red, white and blue. :teeth:

The NJ ads keep getting more entertaining. :3dglasses

Yup... I was here during THAT time... and... I DIDN'T DO IT!!! ;) Do you remember all the bumper stickers started sprouted out on cars all over? Heck, seems like Sharpton was practically pulling names out of phone book every hours to add to list of "guilty parties".

Hang on emery board... maybe someday THAT candidate will make the BIG time on the cablenews.. you know.. the news channel nobody remembers to watch.

The NJ ads even make the New York news!!
