Lori, We have a Christian dance school in Algier's, but with traffic that's about 35-40 minutes away. The school Chris registered her for was very clear about all costs. One flat fee for the review, all costumes, 3 tickets AND no selling ads! They also have small classes & state age-appropriate music/dance for all classes. I'm skeptical so we'll just wait & see. They also offer music/voice classes there. So this will give us a chance to see what she's really interested in. At least we won't be running all over the city for this right now. Of course if the dancing & music isn't appropriate we'll have to look elswhere!

I would really be interested in hearing more about this dance school as the classes progress. In the next couple of years I'll be looking for a dance school for my granddaughter and this one sounds promising. It has been decades since my daughter took dancing classes so I'm really out of the loop.....hehe.

Hey ya'll. I just got back from the hospital. I'd been there since 6am. My mom is doing great. The doctor accomplished 99% of what he wanted to accomplish. She will have to take cumidin (sp?) from now on, but a very low dosage.

I am so glad its over We got to see her in ICU and her coloring looked good. She is still asleep. We will see her again between 4:30 - 5:30pm.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers and thoughts.

lori1043, I'm not sure what valve. The doctor said the valve came from a cow.

Hey Y'all,

I didn't even realize we had Saints football tonight! We just watched our 1st episode of Big Brother (recorded) last night, since there is nothing at all on tv. So we'll be recording that & watching the Saints.

Kristina, I hope last night went well for you!

Chris (Alexis' Mom) called & spoke to the owner (I think her name was Lauri). Chris was very impressed with the fact, that she was able to answer all her questions, especially total cost of the revue. And for a higher registration fee-they also have all clothes & shoes for the classes available at the studio. The new studio is on Barataria near Cousins.

Lori, Sorry to hear you're bummed out! Could it be from being on the road so much?

I wanted to tell you that we are waitlisted for the BC on Sat Oct 25. If we get it, we will probably do the PFTS. I don't think we could handle a long bus ride back to ASM after the party. We pretty much staggered back to our room at the BCV the last two years. I'm not too worried about booking the Party, it doesn't usually fill up too fast. I'm rather tickedoff/bummed out over Food & Wine events this year. The little bit of info that has been released, nothing is fitting in with our schedule. We had planned on doing lots of the F&W pairings, but the one from Italy is on Saturday, the Sake/Sushi one Bob's not interested in. And the one in Morocco we did last year and while it was very good, it was in the area of the restaurant with steps. They had to get the young waiters to move Bob to a chair & then carry the chair up the steps. They were nice & it was good, but not worth that much trouble.

OMGoodness! That is where I want to send Kurt jr. I am going there Saturday(the other location in Gretna, because that one isn't open yet). Of course I have yet to be able to talk Kurt Sr into the whole "boy in a dance class" thing

The prices are so reasonable and everything is right there! How funny would that be if Alexis and Kurt jr were in the same class!

Good morning NOLA! Yesterday marked one month since I started at the gym and dieting and I'm down 16 lbs and 4 inches. Still have a way to go though!

Kathy 16 pounds is awesome. You go girl. It took me four months on Weight Watchers to lose 26 pounds. At the rate you are going you'll be a skinny minnie in no time.

Well school started back for my kids today. Can I tell you how quiet my house is right now. I love having them home, no schedule to follow and no homework. I'm sure they won't have any homework today but come Monday here we go again.

My mom continues to improve. The kids and I went yesterday to visit her, and she was sitting up in her chair for about 2 hours while we were there We will go in a little while to visit her again.

Terry and Lori (BP), I hope ya'll start to feel better as the day goes on.
