thinking of getting those space bags for travel (that you roll the air out of). or shipping my stuff to Disney...any experience with or comments on either?

I've done space bags before. Just keep in mind if your bags get checked they may open them and not bother closing them again. Trust me, I know.

I teach 1st grade at Our Lady of Divine Providence (OLDP) in Metairie. My Dh was insisting that we stay this year for Mardi Gras, but I think I have him convinced to go to Disney!

Sorry I haven't posted for at least a week - but I have been reading and do care about all of you and what you are going thru.

My dad had heart surgery (bypass) almost 20 years ago, and his heart is doing great. By the way he has made tremendous progress - he even did his own laundry a few days ago. Major accomplishment - I did not make him do it, but he was so proud of himself.

It's been busy around here. A week ago Friday I fainted (I guess as I don't remember it at all) and broke the shower door in the middle of the night. The jagged pieces are just huge. Everyone who looks at it cannot believe that I am still alive.

My sister had her gallbladder out on Thursday and just went home from our house today. Her best friend came in for Cindy to take care of her after hand surgery - she ended up having the surgery at exactly the same time when Cindy did. So I was dropping off at multiple hospitals on Thursday, and they were both here until today. I just need to put a big red cross out in the front yard.

Good luck Kathy and others with the depression. I've taken Paxil ever since menopause. I tried going off of it about 3-4 years ago. I did it very slowly over several months - but I found myself getting very irritable. I told my doctor that I wanted to kill people. Her eyes got really wide until I quickly added that I did not mean that literally. I was just very, very cranky until I went back on it and all was well again.

Oh my goodness! So glad to hear you are Ok- what a scare. Do you know what caused you to pass out?

Quiet weekend here. We went to see "Journey to the Center of the Earth" yesterday, it was a fun movie. Would love to have seen it in 3D, it would make a great ride!

Hi ladies...well dd and I have really rested this weekend. we have stayed in our PJ's most of the time. I am in the middle of doing a few chores.

Last night we saw Mama Mia. Too cute but some of the scenes were a bit much for a 9 y.o. !

OKAY - I asked this in a previous post and did not get any responses so I will try again. Does anyone know of a breeder who has MALTESE Puppies?

I have a Disney Visa card or something - they sent promotional info for value resorts Sept through 11/26 or something. e-mailed it to travel agent and she got me the discount. I had already paid for the trip but this is nice!

Is anyone looking at Disney for Mardi Gras 2009?

We were there last Mardi Gras and usually go every other year at that time. This year we are going in May actually on the last day of school. Trying to jump in there before all the schools let out. My kids have been wanting to do all the water parks and we have some left over days from our last trip so we are going to try our hand in the heat. I know when February rolls around I'll probably regret this decision but it will be too late by then.

Tricia how scary that must have been for you. Thank goodness you didn't get hurt.

Terry I don't know of any breeders but did you trying looking online? I have a Bichon Frise and found a breeder in Baton Rouge from searching around on the computer. Good luck.

Terry, the Times Picayune has breeders listed in the ads section. However, we wanted another shetland sheepdog (our other one had died at 14 years of age) and they didn't have any listed. I went online and searched for Louisiana shetland puppies, and I went on a site called "puppyfind" and got my little puppy, Jackson. Here is a picture:

Anyone ever hear of "The Party Place" on Lapalco? DH's nephew is having a party there, and I tried googling it but got no info. What kind of place is it? Indoor playground or arcade, or something along those lines? Just wondering how I should prepare myself for this (can't y'all tell I'm thrilled ). Thanks!

Edited to add: I found a Party Time Palace on Lapalco and asked DH if that was it- he said yeah, something like that (he spoke with MIL on the phone aout the party). Details are not his strong suit.

It seems like so many things on the menus that we liked for the ADRs we picked are disappearing, and it is too late now to change things around- I'M JUST OVER IT NOW! I'm not touching my ADRs again! I read today that all of the filets on the 1TS restaurants are going away this month, and DH is STEAMED!! All he ever really gets at TS are filets- he also wanted the crab legs and lobster soup at Coral Reef, and those are gone too! We are not really fond of the dining plan in general, but going during free dining seemed like a good savings and went with it. With all of the menu changes now we wish we hadn't gotten the free dining and had gone in October instead during F&WF. Oh well, too late for that! At least we'll be in Disney!

Yup at least we will be in Disney lol! I didnt book anything too adult for food, we did several fancy places last yr and while Jack is fine at those places, I just gave up lookin at menus etc.. got to stressful LOL.

Chef Mickey's at 7:10 am .... gonna try to change to Boma doesnt matter what time for breakfast.

Hollywood n vine fantasmic package 4:50pm.. i wanted Brown Derby .. will keep trying but prob a no go

Sept 14th Magic K. day
Trails End at 7:20 pm

Sept 15th Animal kingdom day
Tusker House 8:00 am

Sept 16th Epcot day
6:20 pm Kona



I swear this is stressful lol, and yes i agree, I dont think we will do free dining again, would MUCH rather go to F and W fest in Oct. I may leave the family home and IF ( LOL i know some of you will) any of yall go next yr Ill try and hit it for a cpl of days with yall.
