Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

Here's my schedule:

9/7 MK day- no ADRs (I never book ADRs on the first day because it's usually a short day)

9/8 MK day Crystal Palace 1:00 pm

9/9 Epcot day Garden Grill 1:00 pm

9/10 AK day Tusker House 9:15 am
Kona Cafe 6:05 pm

9/11 Epcot day Coral Reef 5:50 pm

9/12 MGM day Shutters (at CBR) 6:30 pm

9/13 MK day Liberty Tree Tavern 12:00 pm

That's the schedule and I'm sticking to it! (Even though DH keeps asking me to change things around, no!! :rotfl: ) Boy, that's a lot of ADRs though- makes me a little nauseous just looking at it! I would love to try some of the 2TS restaurants, but I don't trust DD with that just yet....

Hey y'all!

Anyone ever hear of "The Party Place" on Lapalco? DH's nephew is having a party there, and I tried googling it but got no info. What kind of place is it? Indoor playground or arcade, or something along those lines? Just wondering how I should prepare myself for this (can't y'all tell I'm thrilled  ;) ). Thanks!

Edited to add: I found a Party Time Palace on Lapalco and asked DH if that was it- he said yeah, something like that (he spoke with MIL on the phone aout the party). Details are not his strong suit.

Lorie, Is it in Marrero or Gretna? The one in Marrero is an indoor playground type thing. I've never been there & don't know anyone else that has gone either. I hate to tell you but I'd feel bad it I didn't mention it, but the outside of it looks kind of funky. (It's next to the Red,White & Blue resale store). But it's probably just like any other kid's playground. There is also something in Gretna, and the name was similar but I can't find it either. They do themed kid's parties, Alexis went to a Princess Party there.

Is that a fact that WDW is going to take the filets & other high cost stuff totally off the menus?!!! That would be awful!!!

I'm not sure where it is... I hope they send us an invitation with some details (like the address) because DH got no info from MIL. I really don't want to go to this thing because one, it is from 6-8 pm and that is kind of late for DD, and two- that was supposed to be the weekend we do something for my birthday (which we haven't done since before DD was born). So, I'm whining and being a little sensitive about it. I do hope it is the nicer one in Gretna at least!

As for the filets, yep, it seems to be true- it was on the podcast board and restaurant board. They are supposed to be leaving the signature restaurants alone though (we'll see!).

I don't blame you, I'd be trying hard to think of a reason not to go! Chris has starting thinking about the Monkey Room for Alexis's b-day in November & I'm already dreading it! If it's the one in Gretna, I don't think it was a playground type deal at all. The girls showed up & they had dress up clothes for them, did thier nails & had tea. They had different themes, like Pirate parties for boys. That sounded good to me, but Alexis seems set on going to the Monkey Room when her b-day come around. Ugh!

I don't understand Disney's thinking on removing things from the menu. I would think they would have enacted exclusions to the DP instead of just taking stuff off the menu. Just doesn't make much sense to me.

Well Chris has signed Alexis up for a dancing class & a group voice class starting next month. I am less than thrilled about the dance class, it's our typical tap, jazz, ballet classes. But at least they have a proper floor & were up front with all the revue costs. They also say that' they do age appropriate music & dance, but we'll see. They are opening a new studio just down the road from me, so it will be close by.

Northshore ladies - Kyle's baseball team is having their awards banquet/party at a restaurant called Grillot's, anyone know anything about it? I was told they do chargrilled oysters.....

Yes Kathy they do. I'm not an oyster fan but heard they are really good. They (Grillot's) even come to the Fontainebleau High football games and do the oysters there. Talk about smoke! They do smell good but I can't get myself to taste them. :scared:

YUMMO!!!!!:thumbsup2

Morning Ladies!

Good morning Terry!

Had to take off work today. Kyle & I will be heading to Delgado later this morning to complete all of his freshman paperwork. Still find it hard to believe he's starting college.

Grillot's is on Florida, I beleive. I actually just saw it last Thursday for the first time when heading pick up a friends son from sailing lessons. I am no help though, never been there.

Florafauna, is it her aortic valve or mitral? Is she getting a mechanical or a porcine?

Shovan- we did dancing for a few years when the girls were little. They were in a regular dance school for a year before we found Faith Dance academy. It is Christian dance school that uses some Christian some decent secular music. The costumes were oh so cute and no fishnets, no "iffy" clothing. Now it is called some long name I cannot say. There is a school like that on the southshore(Don't know the name-Peace or Hope or something like that.;)) I wasn't necessarily there for the Christian aspect(although it was a plus for us), but were were looking for decent costuming, fair prices for fees, costumes and review costs, no selling ads for the book, and no questionable hip hop music. Beleive it or not, there is Christian hip hop music that is pretty good! I never had heard it before nor am I a hip hop music fan, but the hip hop dances were GOOD.

I am sure the dancing will be fun for her. I used to worry about costuming and music too-MOST places consider this for the young ones, but they still see the older ones, which is not taken into consideration at some places.

Loving hearing all the Disney planning!

Lori

Morning Y'all,

Tricia, Next time you get the chance, you really should try them! My SIL Chris can't stand oysters, but peer pressure during an office Christmas Dinner convinced to taste Drago's charbroiled oysters. She loved them! She still won't eat oysters any other way but jumps at the chance to head to Drago's.

Lori, We have a Christian dance school in Algier's, but with traffic that's about 35-40 minutes away. The school Chris registered her for was very clear about all costs. One flat fee for the review, all costumes, 3 tickets AND no selling ads! They also have small classes & state age-appropriate music/dance for all classes. I'm skeptical so we'll just wait & see. They also offer music/voice classes there. So this will give us a chance to see what she's really interested in. At least we won't be running all over the city for this right now. Of course if the dancing & music isn't appropriate we'll have to look elswhere!

Lorie, On your ADR's, Bob read on MouseOwner's that the character's would no longer be at Liberty Tree. Don't know if that's fact or not.:confused3

Thanks Lori!

Mary - Been thinking about you and your Mom and praying that all is well.

Hey ya'll. I just got back from the hospital. I'd been there since 6am. My mom is doing great. The doctor accomplished 99% of what he wanted to accomplish. She will have to take cumidin (sp?) from now on, but a very low dosage.

I am so glad its over:) We got to see her in ICU and her coloring looked good. She is still asleep. We will see her again between 4:30 - 5:30pm.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers and thoughts.

lori1043, I'm not sure what valve. The doctor said the valve came from a cow.

Thanks Again,

Mary

That is awesome to hear she is doing so well! More prayers being said for a fast recovery !

Good morning NOLA!

Mary - Continued prayers for a speedy recovery, so glad everything went well.

Good Morning NOLA.

Mary that's wonderful news on your mom. I hope and pray she will have a speedy recovery.

Countdown continues over here for school, only two more days. I went to Sam's yesterday and stocked up on school snacks. That should get me through a couple of weeks with three kids. Now that they are going back I'm looking forward to fall. It's just been so stinking hot that I'm ready to cool things off a bit.

Good Morning!

Mary- So glad to hear that things went well!

Sheryl- I'm not looking forward to the days when DD wants to take a dance class (if she ever wants to...). I've seen some of the pictures of those little girls taken in their costumes and :scared1: . I hope the new class works out!

Okay y'all, I'm doing my 30 day dance today! :dance3: :cool1: I have to share this with y'all because I don't think DH wants to hear about it anymore. :guilty: I guess I'm a tad overexcited?!

Another eye dr. follow up today- hopefully this will be the last time! My eyes are not easy to fit contacts for, so I have to keep going back until we get the right ones. The ones he gave me at the last appt seem to work fine, so hopefully this will be it!

That sounds great, esp if they could tell you straight up about fees, costumes and everything else. They sound VERY organized to me. I am sure they have recital video for parents/others to view for future students.

I wouldn't go somewhere that far away either, but it was a suggestion if you were looking for decent and fair.

Florafauna-As far as the valve, it is probably aortic, but could be using bovine for the mitral or pulmonic. Anyway, hoping and praying for her speedy and complete recovery!

I'm dancing with ya. There's no such thing as overexcited when it comes to WDW!!:dance3: :yay: :woohoo:

Lorie and Kathy-me too!!!:dancer: I wish we had 30 days till Disney!!!

On the job front-mine has cut back on hours, and DH has chances of getting a new position here, Columbus, Chicago, or Houston at this point. He applied for something in Houston, but there is interest in him in Columbus(where he is going next week), and Chicago. here is less likely, BUT it is where we want to be, so if something can keep him home-we'll be taking it probably!

I am glad we did not out our house up yet!
