Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

well back from the insectarium....it was nice but surprised had to pay so much for child ticket. parked by Tulane and rode car to Canal....ate at a Subway right by the place. about an hour and a half to go through. there is a presentation/movie award show that is a LOT like bugs life and other shows at Disney (needless to say I spilled my drink on myself right away!) ride back to car was long as 1) taxi hit a tour bus right before the streetcar came. 2) had to switch onto opposite tracks 2-3 times because of work on tracks - was interesting though! didn't get wet (yay) and there was a nice breeze on street

I am loving all the views about the Insectarium-thank you!!

We'll go eventually, but maybe with a field trip when it is cheaper. We usually go to the zoo or aquarium for under $5 each. Heck, maybe I will coordinate it with a street car ride.

Kathy, congrats on the car, those are such cool mini SUV's!!! I love 'em!

Hey, BTW:hyper: did you gals with tweenie girls get the AG Kit stuff in the mail? I just ordered 21 Kit t-shirts for our AG club! They come to about $11 per set(one for your daughter and 1 for the doll) and are plain but cute...

I am excited for our club to go see the movie together.

OH and getting my hysterectomy next Monday. :goodvibes

hey all - great car TigerKat! and good luck on the surgery Lori!

Hey y'all!

Oh Kathy, I love it! I showed the picture to DH, and after looking at the specs online, he said to add it to the possible next car list. :thumbsup2 I love the color too!

Lori- I'll be keeping you in my thoughts- keep us updated on your recovery!

Kristina- Glad y'all had a good time on the streetcar/Insectarium!:butterfly

Lorie - The main reason I chose it was because of the reliability & safety records, It's ranked #1 in the smaller SUV class. But it's also perty....:rotfl2:

that's what we're looking for - a small suv that rides a little higher but gets good gas mileage and will last. my Toyota is falling apart after 4 years while my Mazda is about to turn 9. Mazda doesn't have an A/C so we are thinking of getting a new car later this month

on another note - I am kind of nervous because I have this pain on the right side under my rib cage. I am prone to hypochondria (just nervous everything is something major) then minimize and don't worry about it. could be one of 20 different things - maybe gall bladder? just had a friend who had hers out last week - maybe it is sympathy pains? hope it is nothing major...just keep me in your thoughts please!

welcome!!! :welcome: we'll be at Pop Century a day before you and leaving on Thanksgiving!

kmores gave me this link in another thread, so I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Christie, and my dh and I are life long residents of the Westbank (can't you tell from my nick??:rotfl: )

We are so excited to be going back to WDW this November for Thanksgiving week.

I was wondering if anyone has been to WDW during Mardi Gras and how the crowds are.

Thanks!

Hey gals, thanks for all the well wishes and prayers-can't get enough of those!! I will let you know how everything goes next week.

kmores-we all have tummy issues this week and I am the same (hypochondriac)but for my DD10. She has been complaining of tummy pain. Part of me , and a very small part, has fear of the return of the monster b/c that was her complaint at 2 years old b/f the monster came a knockin'. But the bigger, more hopeful and being 5 years off chemo part of me says, 'well maybe it is the same thing me and DH have had this weekend, (except different type tummy compliant) or maybe it is appendicitis, or maybe she is going to start her cycle(even though her pain is above her bellybutton)'. Anything but that monster. I am SO not that way about myself, hence the ignoring of my doc 3 years ago when he mentioned a hysterecomy. And suffering through sinus stuff b/c "i NEVER get that, so why would it be that now"-HA!:rotfl: But when it comes to my kids, esp her, my tummy gets sick all over again.

Lordy, I just am not good with her complaining about much health wise. Certainly, we can get past this.:faint:

I wonder, when she is in her 20's and 30's, will my tummy get into knots when she complains of tummy pain? I just want her to throw up already or have diahrea(sp?) so i KNOW the monster is ruled out. IRONICALLY, we have an oncology appt this Friday, right before my pre-op appt. I am sure she is fine, but geez-the RULE is:
Ashton is not ALLOWED to have any other , even normal, illnesses-for her mothers selfish sanity!!!!

I am sure I have just confirmed my being off the wall.:duck:

Ok ladies I need your help!!!

My mom is turning 50 in September. So I am going to throw her a surprise party. Ok so now I need a venue....any ideas? We will have less than 50 people attending(only family and close friends).

I am so tired.

Morning NOLA!

Kathy your new "baby" is adorable.

to our thread. Both of you are going for Thanksgiving. I love Disney at that time. We were there for Thanksgiving 2006 and while it was very crowded it was just beautiful all decorated for Christmas.

I've been several time for Mardi Gras. Just there last February with a Grand Gathering. While it's crowded I don't find it any more so than Thanksgiving. Just be sure to watch the dates of when President's Day falls. When those two meet it's crazy at Disney.

Lori - Don't be so hard on yourself, I'd be a mess too! I don't think her age is going to matter much, you're always going to worry, you're a GREAT Mom, that's why!!
