Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

That's great news Kathy.:woohoo:

Thanks Tricia, it has really been a roller coaster of emotions just waiting, and as a Mom, worrying about where he's going. The uncertainty is killing me, but from what I've been told this is the way this coach "courts" his signees. If you have a prayer to spare, Kyle would be greatful.:goodvibes

Consider it done.

Tricia - I just noticed your ticker, did I miss a post about a trip??:yay:

No I didn't say anything. We actually made plans while we were still there in February. I was just waiting for it to get to a year to add my ticker.

Hey ya'll!:wave2: Thanks for the howdeys!

Hi Jenny (and Jack)!

Lorie- were you and the DH by chance out at the airport in the past week or so? We flew in on Friday and I coulda swore you guys were sitting there waiting for someone....but I figured since I didn't see Sennia anywhere it wasn't you guys. Just wondered. (After all that.....whew!)

Kathy- Prayers said for Kyle ongoing. I know it'd sure make Mom happy to have him at Delgado though!

We worked on figuring the schedule into June on the drive to Detroit and I will be home on 6/1 and 6/15. That's it. Well, the 6/15 is because Rick has a morning meeting with Entergy on 6/16. But the 14th is Louisville for Shannon's wedding.

Sorry to vent, but why pay the rent we do, and all the other stuff to keep a "home" going when we're not there?!?

Anyone wanna trade husbands for awhile? Or jobs? It's not that hard really.:rolleyes1

But..... on the upside....I've got Sunshine Rewards up to $40 for Disney Cards (and found out I can book our Holiday Inn stays and Budget cars for more $$$)

My BzzAgent stuff is moving their rewards to Mypoints and I should have enough there for $100 in Rainforest Cafe GCs.

We took a customer to Fridays and found out they phased out their old rewards system so I cashed out those points for $25 Amazon GC and $40 Target GCs.

And I'm up to $50ish in a couple more surveys/paid email sites.

I told Rick if we ever have kids I think I've figured out the system to a degree. Since he never believes me I explained everything I do online to earn. So every morning now I get "Did you do a scratch off? Any paid clicks? Remember to do your survey." ;)

I've created a monster.:lovestruc

Sorry, didn't realize that last post was soooo long.

Hell, I'd trade husband and job with you in a heartbeat....not having a good day. My parents house is NOT selling, had to go down another ten grand. DH is not so dear....you don't want the details....:rolleyes1

It's taken me awhile to get past the learning curve and get over that shyness of asking about things, but I think it's done me some good. I've gotten into the habit now and with the economy like it is....well girl, let me say it's coming in handy. I hit that freebie thread on the budget board like there's no tomorrow. If I find something on there really good I sign up everyone and their brother! I can't tell you the last time I bought toothpaste, detergent, deodorant, shampoo, etc.

I want in on the 09 trip! And I feel ya about the house. I'm not looking ofrward to getting the one in Indiana when my Grampa passes. There is absolutely NO market there and I don't want to live there either. :rolleyes1

I hope something happens for you though. Something really good.

We were like that for the year before our Feb trip. I even had stocked my MIL with feminine products and deodorant. I need to go back there-it WAS handy!

Morning ladies and happy Friday!

Teenage dilemma going on here. Kelsie is 16 1/2 and most of her friends are driving now. Mark and I first said that she wasn't allowed in a car with them until they were driving alone for at least 6 months. That worked for a while because everyone was a new driver together. Well, fast forward to now and you guessed it, my time is up. I'm just having a hard time letting go or realizing that she really is growing up. How did/do you handle letting go? Last night she went to Starbucks with a few of her girlfriends and I was worried the whole time. Does this ever get any eaiser?:worried:

 for you Tricia. YES it does get easier but you will always worry. I went through the same thing. It's going to get harder before it gets easier, when Kelsie starts driving herself. For the first few months I had Kyle calling me whenever he got to his destination, even if it was just a mile away. The only advice I can give you is to know that it's normal to worry but try and trust that you've raised a smart, good girl and she will do the right thing. Feel free to PM me anytime.

Tricia, I hope you are still around here in 6 years, b/c I am going to feel the same-no doubt. Although my oldest is 10, it is these little things,as you describe, that will take a piece of my heart with them and it will HURT(in the form of worry)! Kathy, thanks for the advice. I am tucking all this away for future reference!

You never stop worrying of course, but it does get a little easier. I def. dont feel the need to VOMIT when Brad leaves the house, but I do always find my self hollering out the door... "WEAR YOU SEAT BELT... DONT SPEED, PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE DOING, I LOVE YOU" LOL
Brad's been driving for 3 yrs now lol.
Ill prob still be doing that when he is 30.

Okay ladies...who else is going to the Sex and the City movie? Me and my girlfriends are heading to it today...
