Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

If he could handle the other three movies, then I think he could handle it. It is similiar to the other three in terms of violence (Indy beating up the bad guys) but there is nothing sexual or anything like that. Just a whole lot of fighting! Maybe just warn him ahead of time about the violence, cover his eyes if he gets scared, etc.

It wasn't as good as Raiders of the Lost Ark of course, but we really enjoyed it- more nostalgia than anything. Lots of people afterwards were saying that they felt old after watching it! It is kind of weird seeing Harrison Ford as an older Indiana Jones.

Well he watched TV edited versions.. He does Star Wars and there is lots of Violence in that, so i guess ill just throw caution to the wind!

Morning Y'all,

Hey What does everyone think about the talk of Bobby Jindal being considered as VP for John McCain? To me it's not good news for LA!

Tricia, I hope your Dad is improving today!:flower3:

Kathy, Are you feeling better yet?

Lorie, Glad you & DH were able to go out on a date! Can't believe you picked yesterday to do it! I was in his store yesterday looking around for your DH. But I guess ya'll were out eating sushi & filling Sienna up on pickled ginger! I'm not surpriseed she likes it, DH says it taste like soap! Where did y'all go for sushi?
I guess us old farts are going to have to go see Indiana Jones.

Mary, I've been getting daily updates from the Princess. She is having a great time, yesterday they had breakfast with the Princesses. Chris said the crowds are pratically non-existent right now, no lines for even the best rides. Alexis has been riding all kinds of the new rides, loved Test Track & Soaring. She did tell her Mom that she having a lot of fun, but Reeallly misses her Nana! Awwww, made me feel really bad that we chose not to go with them!:sad2:

Jenny, I went checkout your porn site! You are a bad bad girl!! ;)

Don't bother looking at my pics, they don't compare to any of that! Wow, those people can really cook!

I received an email with Westbank Retail News, might be of interest to y'all WB'ers. Most of it, I had already heard about, but in case anyone is interested.

• Krispy Kreme recently completed renovations to it's store and reopened to pre-Katrina operations

• Semolina's on Manhattan will close down for a short period sometime in August and be converted to a Zea's Rotisserie & Grill, which will re-open back in September.

• Marshall's will open in the old Service Merchandise building on Manhattan/Expressway.

• The sign has been erected on Barataria for The New Orleans Pancake & Breakfast House on Barataria, which is a full service restaurant that currently has locations on Belle Chasse Hwy. and another location on N. Arnold in Metairie.

• The Lowe's Home Improvement will be coming soon at the old JC Penny's location at Belle Promenade

OK FOLKS .... I need a place to get a friend hitched and recommendations.

Ive looked at Maison Dupuy and it is gorgeous but she is looking at about 700 ish for that and its just going to be 4 of us there. She cant see paying that much for a 15 min ceremony.

I looked it up, it looks nice! Wow your friends are either getting divorced or having quickie weddings! ;)

Morning!

I'm not living in the bathroom but still have pretty bad stomach pains. I called my Dr. and they said it's a bug that's going around which lasts 24-72 hours.

Sheryl - I was feeling the same as you were about the possibility of Jindal leaving office. I was listening to a radio talk show the other day that swayed my thinking quite a bit. Imagine how having Jindal as the VP could benefit Louisiana!

I was looking at your W/B news and notes, O'Brien's Grill is near me and we've not been there yet but from what I've heard they're not doing very well and their prices are VERY high, around $40 for a steak....:scared1:

I don't know if it would be good for LA or not. I was just reading an article in the newspaper about the Huey Long bridge & the state buying RR property for that. Jeff Parish politicians were seriously ticked off at Jindal for dragging his feet on the RR property, saying he was ignoring his own parish.

And if my civics memory is correct, If the Gov. steps down the Lt Gov would finish out that term? So Mitch Landrieu would be Gov for the rest of the term? :confused3

Oh I also noticed Kyle's name in yesterday's paper! All Westbank Team!! :thumbsup2

Kathy, You know we past there a couple of weeks ago, noticed O'Brien's but couldn't even really tell what kind of rest. it was. I mean where the bldg. is, the area looks so industrial. I was surprised to read that it was a "high end" place. I wonder if that is owned by Michael O'Brien, Harry Lee's friend & campaign manager. Or if he's just running it, I thought all of that property was owned by Harry Lee.

Thanks on the "All WestBank"!!! He's on pins and needles waiting to hear if he made All District. He's pitching the opening game right now in Jackson, it's killing me not to be there.:sad1:

Johnny knows Mike O'Brien, I'll have to ask if that's his place or not, I'm pretty sure it's in the family, like you said, that's all Harry's family's property.

Sorry you were too sick to go with him. Hope he makes All District! :wizard: It would be a boost for his "business"! ;)

He just called me and sounded kinda sad that we weren't there.:sad1: He pitched the opening game and represented Louisiana well. He only gave up three hits and I think the final score was 4-1.:cheer2:

Not wanting to give TMI - I haven't seen the bathroom walls all day today...:yay: still haven't been out of the house since Monday night, I guess I'd better not rush it.:goodvibes

Yes, we are excited. I have lots of stuff planned.

We are going to spend 1 day in each of these parks: Disneyland, California Adventure and Magic Mountain.

We are to visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, LaBrea Tarpits, Sony Studios, Getty Villa, Kodak Theatre and the Chinese Theatre. Also, we are going to see Wicked at the Pantages Theatre.

I can't believe its almost here.:cool1:

Sounds like a great vacation. Take plenty of pics so we can share it with you when you get home.:goodvibes

I will. I got a digital camera for Christmas. I just need to figure out how to post them.
