Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

Just checking in.......what an amazing game last night.:yay: We're 1 game away from a state championship!!!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

We're having a pool-side BBQ with the boys this afternoon.

If you can spare a prayer, we could use them around 7 tonight!:thumbsup2

Congrats to Kyle.  And good Luck. :)

Happy Mother's day to you all. I will be out of town the rest of the weekend.

Happy Saturday Nola peeps,

Guess what??? DH and I decided, "whats another week of school gonna' do for our kids?" and decided to hang it up till July!!!

Setting your own schedule seems to a big perk for homeschooling! It must feel good to not be controlled by the regular scheduling. And you are doing a such a good job with your girls. Your church has a drama camp! That's cool!

Kathy, I hope you had a great time! I know this was so close to being a great amazing time, but remember to cherish this special time with your boy!

The packing anxiety has already started. Last weekend I pulled outfits for my boys & snapped a digital pic so I wouldn't forget what needed to be washed / what went together. It's Ok to  ...I'm a list maker, and this is just a visual version! I'm tempted to pull all of those items this weekend & throw them in a suitcase - they'll only need uniforms come Monday.

I'm planning on doing the same with DH's & my stuff this weekend if I can finagle it. Stuff for breakfast in the room / snacks should also get put aside as well. I've got to plan ahead.....I can't pack & watch Lost @ the same time!

We'll be thinking about Kyle come 7pm....DS1 will just be finishing up his game right about that time.

I get serious packing anxiety, so afraid I'll forget something important.

Lost is starting to drive me a little nuts! You watch another week & you don't know anymore than you did last week.

Happy Mother's day to you all. I will be out of town the rest of the weekend.

Terry hope you have a great weekend!

Happy Mother's Day Weekend to everyone!

Happy Mother's Day to everyone!!

I just finished making potato salad and stuffed eggs for our big family reunion/MD picnic. We've been doing this in North Little Rock for over 50 years - maybe 60. We even have the same pavillion.

When this started my grandmother was maybe the age I am now with 7 daughters - hence the emphasis on Mother's Day. There are only 3 of the sisters left now. I always make my mother's recipe for this picnic in her memory.

I drove back to Arkansas on Friday but will go back to New Orleans (yeah!) on Monday. I had 3 guests with me during Jazz Fest. I only went one day (last Sunday). I think I'm too old for Jazz Fest anymore - it was just too crowded.

My dad (87) is going with me. I've got to find some senior activities for him. He's very active and even drives but he gets bored just sitting there with me.

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Not much going on here, just doing some laundry. :laundy: Even though it's Mother's Day, the laundry still needs to be done!

Kathy- Congrats to Kyle! :cheer2:

I am a Gretna girl now living in Chicago. Thanks Terry36 for sending me this way!

Welcome! :wizard:

cajunmommy- I had to laugh at your digital pics of clothes to pack, but I swear it is a good idea. I'm also a OCD packing nut, but if I started taking pics, DH would think I've gone totally crazy! I may just have to do that on the sly...:tiptoe:

Lori- Hooray for school being over! :cool1: And I hope the testing went well.

I hope everyone is enjoying their day! :flower3:

I'm right there with ya.....:laundy: Johnny had to work today and Kyle is in bed sick so I'm catching up on my DISing.:surfweb:

LORIE - I love the new cutie-patootie pics. She's getting so big and I do believe I can see a mischievous glimmer in her eyes.....:rotfl:

Thanks!

I'm trying to get a picture of her playing her piano for you, but every time she sees me grab the camera, she races off! Sometimes she's a ham, other times not so much!

Hi ladies - Happy Mother's day. :flower3:

I am just resting now. We had a nice time yesterday and this morning. DH barbecued for me today!

Lorie - I like the new princess: pics.

dani blaski - :welcome: to the group

My husband BBQd for me too! I woke up at 10:30 to the yummy aroma. He also made potato salad and baked beans. Now, I hope he cleans the kitchen ;)

Hey Y'all,

A Belated Happy Mother's Day to all!

Sounds like everyone had a good Day! Husbands doing the cooking is always good!

We went out to lunch! Where was a surprise to me & my Mom! Ralph's on The Park!!! Oh, it was so nice & soo delicious! I had my camera but forgot to even snap one pic! I mad at myself about that. Alexis was all dolled up too. She had on a sundress with matching hair band, bracelet, purse, hat & shoes, which she was quite pleased to show off! My DD also gave me a really special gift, a cookbook with my recipes & pics all printed up! I think it's something I can share online with others too. I'll have to read more about!

We stopped by Metairie Cemetery after leaving Ralph's where some of my relatives are buried. Man the history in that place. New & old, passed by Al Copeland's tomb. It really is a beautiful place when the sadness over losing someone isn't so fresh.

TriciaII, That's nice that your family has kept up the tradition.:goodvibes

Welcome!!!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Lorie, the new pics of Sienna are too cute!

I'm sad about the Hornets last night. I hope coming back home turns it right back around.

Have a good Monday y'all,

Sheryl

Good morning. I hope all the moms here had a great day yesterday.

I was doing laundry too last night:laundy: My son is down to two school uniform shirts. He left an ink pen in his pocket about a month ago and it ruined three of his shirts and two pairs of khacki uniform pants. So, last night I realized he didn't have a clean shirt and was washing clothes at 10pm. I hate to say this, but if I didn't tell him to bring his clothes down to wash them, I think he'd be okay wearing a dirty, rumpled-up shirts from the dirty clothes pile:sad2: Boys...:upsidedow

We ate lunch at Semolina yesterday. I was craving the Pad Thai pasta. It was delicious. The we saw Iron Man. It was really good.

It is beautiful outside today!:goodvibes Ya'll have a great day

I could feel the  from DH as I was doing it. But of course he can throw a handful of shirts / shorts, toothbrush & deodorant in a bag 10 minutes before he leaves the house and be done. The kids thought it was cool, though. It allowed them to pick what they wanted to wear (within reason), and it made the trip seem that much closer.

Love the new pics of you & baby girl! Gracious, she's getting big.

Uh oh - the stress of the last week finally getting to him? Hope he's OK. I was bummed to hear about their loss to Zachary. It was a bad night all around. DS's team had their 2nd loss this season on Friday in a heartbreaker.

DH barbecued for me today!
My husband BBQd for me too!

DH asked if I wanted jewelry for Mother's Day - I told him I wanted a new gas grill! I use it more than he does! I think it'll end up being a joint Mother's / Father's Day gift.

I love walking through the cemetery & reading the tombstones as well.

Quiet Mother's Day here. I guess you could say we celebrated the night before. Went out with friends to Besh's Restaurant August & had a fabulous meal. The wine pairings had me moving a bit slower come yesterday morning, however. I did get some packing accomplished, so all in all it was a good day.

I think it was more germs than stress, whenever these boys room together on the road someone has something and they all get sick.:scared:

Sorry about DS's heartbreaker, they are so hard to take:hug:

Mary, Iron Man was good? DH really wants to see it, I'm a bit less than enthusiastic when it comes to former Comic book character movies.

Good luck with the packing. Sorry about your boy's heartbreaking game.:sad1:

Oooo, tell me more about August! What did you eat? Ralph's was very good, but they had a preset Mother's day menu which I was a little disappointed with. and they were so busy!

I think it was more germs than stress, whenever these boys room together on the road someone has something and they all get sick.:scared:

Kathy, How sick is Kyle? Nothing too bad, I hope!
