Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

Tricia, When I reread my comment, I sounded very rude! I'm SORRY!!! :flower3: Please forgive me, I was overly excited seeing that large pic & article of Kyle in the paper!

Sheryl I didn't think anything of it. I know we all live scattered about and it's hard to remember just where we are all from.

Lucas, I LOOOOVVE your dancing Saint's siggie!!!! Too cool! You always find the cutest things!

For some reason, I always think that your in Metaire! Don't know why I just do.:confused3 Still doesn't explain my goofiness this morning. It might not be in the East Bank editions either! Excitement & not having my 1st cup of coffee is my only excuse.:confused3

It's in the E/B edition...Johnny has purchased a copy for each employee.:rolleyes1

I love your moving smiley tag!!!! Did y'all like Ohana & LeCellier? I'm so glad Ohana put the shrimp skewers back on the menu!!:goodvibes

Thanks Peg, I am very proud of my boy!

Thanks!

My favorite part of 'Ohana (besides the view) was the shrimp and the dessert! We went to LeCellier for lunch and after eating a big meal, I was ready for a nap. Seriously! We usually eat at counter restaurants and I think we'll go back to that. I need to be able to get all my favorite snacks in like popcorn:: and :mickeybar !!

Kyle wanted me to come and tell all of you how much your kind words of support meant to him, he was really touched.:grouphug:

Lorie - I bought a bottle of the Goya Mojo marinade for my pork roast on Sunday and it's a really big bottle. What else can I use it on?

You can use it for marinating any meat if you want that Latin taste- chicken, steak, pork chops- all taste great when grilled after marinating with mojo. Just add some black beans & rice and you've got dinner! Mojo will keep in the fridge for awhile until you make another pork roast. Depending on how big your roast and crock pot is, you may want to add more marinade than what I told you- basically, you want enough to coat the roast and have still a little pool on the bottom before you add any water.

Thanks! I'm making a big pot of homemade black beans (an old recipe I've had for twenty years) and some rice!!!!

Your welcome! I hope it comes out good! I'm sure my father is smiling down right now because I'm spreading the joys of Cuban cooking.

DH is practically tap-dancing- I finally let him turn on the AC. :rotfl: Once the thermostat hits 82, no amount of fans or open windows keeps it pleasant! Whats so funny is that it hasn't even been 30 days since we had to use the heater. Gotta love New Orleans weather- there are no transitional seasons, just summer and winter!

Oh and I got my car back today. It is a mystery about the squealing noise and the AC, but they charged the AC because they said there was no refridgerant in there. They couldn't find any leaks in the system but told me that they put dye in so if the ac runs warm again to bring it back in so they can find the leak. Goofy car. At least it didn't cost me a fortune and put my Disney trip in danger- yay!

I had already thawed out my chicken to make Sheryl's wine can chicken tonight so that will be tomorrow's dinner. Oh well,I can look forward to it all week!!:goodvibes
