Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

She's 13. I don't want to speak prematurely but I think she's going to recover from this. She slept most of the day and she just walked outside to go potty and she seemed to be walking "just a little drunk" if YKWIM. She ate a little bit and she got semi-excited when she saw the mailman. I'm so afraid of another seizure I calmed her down right away. I know she has a long way to go but Mom will be helping her all the way.:goodvibes

Aw...we are here for you! :grouphug: Glad she is doing better.

Kathy, That sounds good! Sounds like she is doing very well! I hope she continues to show improvement! Is there some type of anti-seizure meds they could give her?

Time to make my ADRs today!!! I still have to narrow down what we're doing. Here's the problem: DH does NOT believe in planning on vacations. He knows that ADRs are necessary but HATES having "appointments" and "somewhere he has to be" during vacation. He's agreed to three, maybe four ADRs at the very most. And of course, I want to eat at more TS then that. I'm thinking about booking four or five, and then cancel them as need be if he still doesn't want to keep them once we're there. It also depends on how DD acts while we're there- on our trip a year ago, she would not sit well during our TS meals and we had to cancel a few of them because we got so worn out with her. Hopefully she'll be better now that she's a little older. Ugh, decisions, decisions!

You DH sounds like me and my DH!!! In the past we made maybe one or 2 max ADR's for our WDW trips. This past time we made 4 for our 10 day trip, but did 5 table service, Rainforest Cafe was the planned extra. I DO NOT like being pinned down to being somewhere for a certain time on vacation.

There are anti-seizure meds but they are very hard on the liver and at her age that wouldn't be good. The vet is pretty sure the stroke/seizures were due to her thyroid so she's on thyroid meds.

Sammie seems to be improving by the hour.:yay: :dance3: :cool1: Johnny is taking her to the vet in a bit for an evaluation, while I run to the grocery store.

I'm going to be missing Kyle's game today as they are playing in Morgan City and there's no way I'm leaving my sweet girl alone all day. Kyle understands and is OK with it, Johnny will be there.

Kathy, So glad to hear that she is improving!!! That is great news! Really happy for you!

Kathy- So glad to hear that Sammie is doing better!

I made all of our ADRs yesterday and got everything I wanted, including the dates and times I wanted! :yay: Including the very coveted dinner at Le Cellier! :cool1: I made 5 ADRs total, so if we cancel one or two it won't be a big deal. This is what I got:

Crystal Palace lunch
Garden Grill lunch
Tusker House breakfast
Le Cellier dinner
Shutters (CBR TS) dinner
Many character buffets, but this is what will keep DD happy. We went to Le Cellier on our trip a year ago but I didn't get to really enjoy it- we had to wolf down our food quickly in order to get out of there because DD was acting up. I really, really hope she behaves better this time! If she does, then we may try to add Kona Cafe somewhere in there...

Binky-gate is still ongoing- Sienna has been screaming bloody murder for about a half hour at nap & bedtime :scared: ,but then she goes asleep and stays asleep. I hope CPS doesn't show up- that's how loud and violent she has been screaming. :headache:

I hope everyone is having a good weekend!

:rotfl2: Girl I remember those days. This too will pass but it does make you want to pull your hair out.

Your ADR's sound great, LOVE LeCellier!!!

I know how hard it is for you to hear Sienna scream, hopefully it will get better every day.

All this talk of WDW, I am so envious! Dh said last night that maybe we can go this time next year. Of course he said it while in bed ;) so maybe it was just pillow talk...lol.

Going to the Irish Italian parade today. Hope everyone is doing well.

Hello to everyone. I have been reading this thread for a bit. Didn't have much to say really.

Just wanted to tell Lori about what I saw on Supernanny. The kid didn't want to part with his pacifier so the Nanny made him mail it to the "Paci Fairy." The child put the pacifier in a decorated envelope and put it in the mailbox. Then the next morning the "fairy" had left glitter and feathers in the mailbox. According to the show the child was totally fine after that. Maybe you can watch the episode online but I don't remember which family it was.

Let's see...........I've been MIA for a couple of days doing the whole family thing. Sprink Break was this week and tomorrow they all go back to school. My DISing should somewhat return to normal. Friday Mark took off of work and we went to see Horton. My movie review is if you're a kid you probably really liked it. Me, it was just OK. Yesterday my partner in crime (aka SIL) and I went to the Casino (Harrah's) in New Orleans. I came home a big loser and I'm not talking about on the scale. I did get to eat the buffet for free so that's makes it all better. I have to say I didn't enjoy it as much as if I weren't doing WW. I tried to be really good and when you do that the food choices are very limited.

I hope you are all having a great weekend.

disnic75  stick around and post. I see you're from Covington. I'm right next door in Mandeville.

Are you kidding, all of my deals with DH are done in bed! :rotfl: Me: "Can we go to Disney World?" DH: uh, yeah, sure hon..." Me: "Can we add an extra day this time?" DH: Sure babe, whatever you want..."
How do you think I get to go every year? ;)

:welcome: to the Nola thread!

I actually asked DD before if she wanted to leave the binky for the Binky Fairy and she said "no way!". I guess she isn't into negotiating...

Oh, I wanted to ask all of the foodies on here- what do you do with a dutch oven? DH brought home a heavy stainless steel Tramontina dutch oven that they were getting rid of at work. It looks really nice (and is very heavy!), but I don't know what to cook with it- suggestions?

We went to the Aquarium today. My niece has been begging us to take her there. I can take it or leave it but since her birthday is coming up we took her.
I haven't been there since way before the hurricane. The water in most of the tanks looked kinda cloudy. Some of the small tanks were empty. It was a little depressing. We saw the Dolphin and Whale IMAX movie. It was OK.
After Disney World, what can compare?

I know what you mean. We became members last year, and I don't know if I will again this year.

Stick around please!!

Good morning NOLA! Getting ready to start a pot of red beans with the Easter ham bone!!!!:cool1:

April 12th is out for me. I didn't realize that's the date of the last home baseball game of the season which is always "Senior Day". We start out with a Mass, parent luncheon, then the game and a BBQ for the seniors and their parents.

Kyle has decided on Southeastern in Hammond for college. A baseball scholarship is still a possibility but we're not anticipating one. He's ready to start planning his freshman year and I'm not ready to let him go.:sad2:

Morning guys....

Awe Kathy it will not be the same without you. Ladies, in light of this do you want to try for another time?
