Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

Oh, I hear ya- I haven't been walking much the last couple of months, and it shows! I despise the cold so that's been my excuse, but now that it will be getter warmer I have no choice but to get back out there. Especially if I want to fit in my summer clothes. :sad2:

I forgot about the Bonefish in Baton Rouge. That's a lot closer than Lafayette:cool1:

Yep, I'm 41 and I find the only way I can keep the pounds off is if I keep up with my walking. Trouble is, I need to stop finding excuses why I can't do it. Especially after all the Heavenly Hash eggs from Easter.
I am afraid to say this b/c it is unusual-but the chocolate is not calling my name this year as much-for this I am happy, BUT I keep saying I will start walking again when the weather is more mild.

Anyway, DH was telling me that the doc showed him his chart of weight gain-all starting in 2000-we had turned 30 that year-but it was also the year Ashton was dx'd with cancer-the bell curve went up and up and up each year!!! He was teasing with the doc pointing it out saying, "in 2000, yeah, that was our d-day year, then 2001, well that was after a year of Children's hospital food :crazy2: and obtaining a habit of coffee and coke, and 2002, she was looking like relapsing that year so that was 5 more pounds..." :lmao: So now we are 5 years off treatment and have NO excuses. I actually gained 13 pounds within the first 2 months of her diagnosis, but later took it off-well, over the past 6 years I have managed to put that 13 pounds back on:rolleyes1 ... I'd be happy 13 pounds lighter. Although even back then I wanted to lose 10 more-so I guess I'd be ELATED` 23 pounds lighter!!

Don't get me started on the weight issue....ladies take it from me it does get tougher the older you get. I've packed on 12 lbs since I quit smoking and I don't have time(good excuse:rolleyes1 ) to exercise.:sad2:

I have recently dropped 20 ish pounds and im really not sure how i did it but do know i have made and effort to eat more small meals and cut the fast food. More water and i try to move around more. I was going to the gym, but after a few weeks fell off of that routine. I just am trying to do more housework and yardwork.

I hear you! I have lost 8 lbs recently also. I attribute it to eating fruits and veggies, and smaller portions. I am getting better @ drinking more water too! Every little bit helps.

Morning Y'all,

What a way to start the day, talking about our weight! Ugh! I know I've picked up a couple of lbs since Christmas. I did so great keeping it off when I was walking but then either the feet or the back start giving me trouble & I have to quit. So the only thing that works for me lately, in keeping the weight own is portion control. When it starts to get too bad, I start using the WW recipes too. And I don't even want to think about what age I'll be turning this year!:scared1:

I don't know if I mention that the thugs that were renting across the street finally moved out about a month ago. New people moved in last week and on Saturday we had to call the cops already! We were in our backyard, drinking coffee on the patio, when we hear all kinds of screaming & cursing! We go look out the front door, & they are 3 guys (apparently family helping them move in) cursing & shoving each other around. One of them hits the ground & is laying there flat on his back. A women is in between the other 2 trying to stop it. So we called 911, but I think they cleared out before the police arrived.
I also think I forgot to mention that on Wednesday, I stood up from picking up the paper to find 5 bullet proof vest wearing U.S. Marshalls in my yard! They were looking for the old tenants. At the time I was just happy, they weren't looking for the new neighbors.

Jenny, You lost 20 lbs! You must be a skinny little thing now!

Jenny & Terry, Keep up the good work!:thumbsup2

So what is everyone's thoughts on the April 12th meet? Do we have enough of us that are able to go?

Oh gosh Sheryl, well glad that the old neighbors are gone.. US Marshall involvement is never good, my bestfriend/ cousin is one and I love to listen to her stories, but they are always scary, heck and sometimes funny, its insane how stupid people can be.

Im guessing its around 20 lbs gone, at my highest weight i was a size 14 and now down to an 8. Hoping to hit a 6 soon and be bikini ready.. ; ).. i dont think ill ever be bikini ready again, but at least not feeling i need to constantly wear a coverup. We have a big poker run (boats not bikes) coming up soon and all the girls in the group are under 30 some as young as 22, id like to not feel completely like there mom on that trip LOL. One of the 22 yr old girls called the other day so we could go swimsuit shopping for it together.. I was like you have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.
I wish Chad's best friend would get older girlfriends LOL

I agree Chad's friend has to get some older gf's! Or least some that have had children! ;) And they want to go bathing suit shopping! OMG! But wow, almost a size 6! That's great! But now I'm depressed! ;)

Anyone else jumping on board for the 12th? And what are we going to do?

Sheryl- So scary about the US marshalls! :scared1: At least the thugs are gone, that's good. They are renovating the house next to me, and I am terrified of who it might be rented to. I think I'd rather the house be left abandoned than rented to bad neighbors. Pre-K it was rented to long-time elderly renters, which was fine. I have no faith that the landlord will be selective in who he rents it to.

Bikini is no longer a word in my vocabulary, not by a long-shot. :rotfl: Even though I lost almost all of the baby weight, the mirror and my clothes say otherwise. :scared1: My body is so totally different now from what it was- even with the baby weight loss, what I am left with is so stretched out and flabby. :sad2: I'm not sure what to do- some kind of toning exercises I guess? :confused3 Ugh, even talking about it is depressing me. :guilty:

I'm still up for April 12th, if nothing else comes up. DH just informed me that he is going to, get this, Pensacola for 4 days for a work team build! They're renting a beach house and going next month. So while I'm stuck here with DD, he'll be relaxing on the beach! Not only that but he may take my car so he can lug all of their stuff (leaving me his car) AND he asked me to bake a cheesecake for them to take with them! No fair!

Yep, and that's why you'll notice I have a countdown ticker in my siggie. ;) If he gets to go to the beach, then I get to go to WDW!! :snooty:

Now you're talking! :thumbsup2

So did you find a good deal for September? Did you notice the pool rehabs at CBR thru 9/15 ? Here's the info on that: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/rehab.htm

Wellll, there is a rumor about free dining in September, and although that would be my least favorite discount to get (I hate how crowded it makes the restaurants and I'm not a fan of the DDP in general), I'll take what I can get. If the rumor doesn't pan out, then I may move the trip to October since I'll be discount-less anyway and enjoy the F&W fest.

I know about the pool rehab at CBR and it doesn't bother me- we never use the main pool anyway. And I figure if anything it will make the resort less crowded. Always scheming, always scheming....

Hopefully your new neighbors won't be causing any more headaches for you.

I can only say "maybe" for 4/12, it just depends on how work goes that week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed cause I could sure use some "me time".:goodvibes
