Anyone looking for part-time employment or know of anyone?? The lady that's been working for me for 14 years just gave me notice that Friday is her last day. Real nice, huh?

Anyway it's a Credit Union in Metairie. Person will process loans, general teller work. Office hours will be Tuesday - Thursday 9AM-1PM. And best of all - work for me, I'm such a sweet boss. Salary depends on experience.

Man that would sound perfect for me if Sienna were going to preschool- but we're not quite there yet. Since I did AP, AR, bank deposits, etc when I worked at Whole Foods I would probably catch on fast. I hope I can find something like that when she does start pre-K. I hope you're able to find someone soon!

If I hadn't hadn't been feeling so crappy lately, I'd jump on that one in a heartbeat! I wanted a job with those hours forever! I'd find a job like that, & sure enough then they'd want you to work a few more hours here, a few more there. I had 2 jobs great " part-time, go home & forget about work" type jobs, that eventually ended up being "full-time, worry about it all the time" type jobs!

I so wish that you could too.

Oh man! That sounds very enticing! That wouldn't include full insurance + dental, would it??? If so, I might have to consider it! I also have a friend working another part time job, who might be interested. otherwise, I will put the word out, that sounds like the perfect job!

Because we only have two employees we can't get "group coverage" so we purchase our own individual health insurance and the credit union gives me a $350 per month allowance towards my health insurance and my employee also gets an allowance depending on how much their insurance is and only if they cannot be covered by a spouse.

ETA: Another major perk of this job - DISing is not only allowed but encouraged!!!

You sound like a very cool boss Kathy. It would be perfect for me but way too far away. If I ever went back to work it would have to be on the North Shore.

Quick drop-in update. I've already got a temp coming in tomorrow to learn the ropes, which will give me some relief. I should be getting resumes from a few people by the end of the week. I miss my DIS time.

I don't know how much worse things can get for me. Kyle was on his way home from baseball this evening and a bucket fell out of a truck in front of him and rolled under his car and busted his radiator. As He & Johnny left to take the car to the auto repair shop he gets hit from behind about two blocks from the house by a policeman....

Awww..Kathy....wish I were closer - I'd love to help out with the job. Of course, the fact that the only financial / business experience I have is balancing our checkbook & doing our taxes would probably put me at the end of the list. Now...DISing while @ work...I qualify! (Don't say that too loudly! )

Geez, when it rains, it pours! OK, let's see if I can spin this to the positive side...... he got the 1st (and 2nd) wrecks out of the way, and hopefully the car can be in & out of the shop fairly quickly (as opposed to two lengthy separate times in the shop). And, since it was a cop let's hope you won't have the same insurance headaches that Lorie had with the hit & run. That help any?

How are Kyle & Johnny doing? Hopefully nothing more serious than a few aches & pains.

Oh Kathy, that really stinks! I'm glad they are both okay! They were driving Kyle's car, when a cop hit them? Man that is bad luck! But I have to agree with cajunmommy's spin. At least Kyle has two wrecks down, NO TICKETS & HE DIDN'T GET HURT! You don't want to hear the horror stories I have about DD's first few years of driving! Reeally bad.

I didn't check in yesterday because I was puking again. I have to assume this is a new spin with my IBS, it's happening too often lately to just be viruses. I'll have to make another dr. appt with the gastro, I guess. Don't want to, cus I know the 1st thing they'll want to do! A colonoscopy.

Weird thing I just learned, that a symptom of fibromyalgia is IBS. Weird, uh? I had no idea that my two illnesses had anything to do with the other.

Hi Jennifer, I wish I had some info on that one for you. I know how hard this decision is. My grandmother had alzhiemer's & we had her nearby at Wynhoven Nursing Home. I would recommend choosing a place that is close enough to your home, so that y'all can check in on him often. Good luck on this.
