Can someone tell me the correct way to pronounce Degas, as in Cafe Degas??? We're going there tomorrow night for Johnny's birthday dinner and my co-worker said the proper pronunciation was quite weird...just curious if anyone knows.

I've always pronounced it Day gaa as have the people I know who worked there in the past.

Ok, so I learned that Edgar Degas was originally de Gas, which if you know a little french, "de" is like she said above "du" real shortlike, not like "duh", and "gas" is like she said "gah"

I was saying ""daygah" but it is not so!

Heading to the southshore to drop of DN7, and this is the last time we will see her for a month, b/c Saturday she goes to her dad's in Florida for a month.

Sorry I went MIA. Feeling better, just still in vacation mode! DD came by yesterday & us girls hung out at the pool for most of the day.

I used to know it was prounouced du-gaa, but when referring to the rest. used Day-gaa. So much of the old french pronunciations are disappearing, like our last name. DH's family always prounouced it Sho-va, but we have given up on that now using sho-van.

Hey guys! So all this talk about snoballs and what do I see an ad for today in the paper? Mignon Faget's newest collection - snoball pendants! It was only a b&w ad, so I've got to go check these out. Hmm....might have to go on the list as a belated anniversary gift!

Terry - yep - it was hot today. I'm dreading having to be out for the kids' swim meet tomorrow. Too bad I can't be in the pool with them!

probably really common question:

When does the DDP start?

We check in Sept 13(Sunday) and check out on September 19(Saturday).
I mean do we get it on check and out days? One or the other? So if I do not get to WDW till 5pm on Sunday(It'll be earlier though if we DO go), do I have a snack, CS and TS for that day too. This is all confusing to me.
What about when we leave-breakfast and lunch would be nice. We usually do not leave till late afternoon when we go.

OK- I have to book ADR's tomorrow bright and early for our possible trip. Yes, we are still on the fence, but DH says "Don't cancel, yet!!! Let's see where we are by the time we have to pay it off. I want a few rounds on Rockin' Roller Coaster."

here is what i have based on your recomendations, new places for us, and places I have had in the back of my mind. I do not have counter service planned out completely yet!

Sunday-1900 Parke Faire for dinner(after Blizzard Beach)
Monday-EPCOT, Tutto Italia for dinner. We have done chefs before and will use a credit for Boulangeri Patisserie for a light lunch
Tuesday-MK-Columbia harbor House for lunch(sit upstairs) and Tony's for dinner
Wednesday-Typhoon Lagoon(counter service for breakfast and dinner at Ohana's
Thursday-DHS, Backlot or Pizza Planet(kids want this one for the "next time we go to Disney") and Mama Melrose Fantasmic package for dinner
Friday-AK, Tusker House for breakfast, no idea for lunch and dinner
Saturday-DD with whatever have leftover or Earl of Sandwich. Gonna try and save a CS for this day.
