Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

Cara, I hope Spencer feels better soon.

Lorie, I'm glad you have your baby home. Erik's picture is so cute. I'm glad Sienna is having a good day too.

We are going to Destin for a few days. We're leaving EARLY tomorrow morning so we can take a tour of Spring Hill College with David.

Ya'll have a good week:goodvibes
Thanks Mary!

Have a safe relaxing trip! Where is Spring Hill College? College tours... wow...

Good Morning NOLA.

Lorie I know it feels so good to be home. It's nice to hear that Sienna is doing well with her "big sis" role (I knew she would). How's Erik doing? Waiting an 1 1/2 for a wheel chair is a bit much. What hospital were you in?

Mary have a wonderful trip in Destin. I hope you have great weather. My BIL and family were there while we were at Disney and they said the water was so cold because of all the rain that they were having at the time.

Good morning all!

I'm hoping Sheryl's long weekend wasn't a wash out, what's up with all the rain in FL?

Good Morning NOLA.

Man I am so sore and tired this morning. I helped one of friends move into another home.

Lorie - I am glad you and your family are home now. Ms Sienna will be a big help to you...watch and see.

Awe I hope Sheryl got to have some fun. Dang.

Boy, we sure are a quiet bunch today!

Lori, how are you doing after sending Ashton to camp? I am sending Logan at the end of the month. I am a nervous wreck, but I understand it is time for me to start letting go a little bit at a time.

Mary, hope you are having fun in Destin

Sheryl, hope you had some fun even in dodging the showers. I can't wait to hear all about it... and any funny Alexis stories.

Terry, take a nice warm bubble bath tonight... that should help with those aching muscles

Thanks Kat for the well wishes for Spencer... he is feeling much better and didn't need to go the doctor so he is one happy boy!

Lorie, hope that you are doing well, as well as Sienna, Erik, and Todd

It's been really quiet here for a few days.:confused3

Yes...it has. The only good thing about it being insanely quiet in here is that I've been able to keep up with this thread with no problems. :rotfl:

Really, though....I hope everyone is doing well....it's a little odd everybody is so quiet. :confused3

I'm still plugging away trying to pack and get everything taken care of. I'm so sick of cleaning and packing and now it's about time to do it at work too. :headache: Before I can tear everything off the walls, I have to update all of it. :confused3

So yesterday I got a lot done. I cleaned most of this office area of my living room, packed some boxes, ran errands, read A Streetcar Named Desire, looked at cars, walked along the river, walked around Times Square, and had dinner out at Olive Garden with DH. If only I was that productive every day...

Very good!

I've been "quiet" driving Tony nuts with possible itineraries. You can glimpse the madness on my trip report (ouch, shameless plug).

I cooked a brisket today, y'all. :woohoo: That's a serious cooking achievement for me. And it came out tender and tasty, if I do say so myself. I made a rub with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, brown sugar and worsteshire sauce. My hands still smell spicy.

Hey y'all!

Lorie I know it feels so good to be home. It's nice to hear that Sienna is doing well with her "big sis" role (I knew she would). How's Erik doing? Waiting an 1 1/2 for a wheel chair is a bit much. What hospital were you in?
We were at big Ochsner on Jefferson Highway. Everything was just fine until the last day. I suspect that it was because it was the weekend- they were painfully obviously short-staffed that day. Everything took forever- and every hospital employee would show up saying "sorry for the wait- we are short-staffed today...". But no matter- we're home now!

Cara- Glad Spencer is feeling better!

Mary- Have fun!:beach:

I think I missed the post with Sheryl- did she get rained out?

So here's irony for ya- I was talking with DH last night and he said he felt like all he's been doing is cooking, cleaning, cooking and cleaning some more, running errands, DD is driving him nuts, and he has no time to himself. Hmmmm, sounds like my life everyday!:rotfl: This coming from the guy who previously said I had the Life of Riley being a housewife. The grass isn't always greener, eh? I assured him that it would get easier once he got a routine going and organized his days a bit. The comment sure made me laugh though- maybe he'll appreciate what I do a bit more now. ;)

Erik had his first Dr appt yesterday and he is doing really well. He gained 6 oz in a day and a half! Little oinker! If he takes after DD, he'll put weight on really quickly and be a chunky monkey baby. I hope so- I love chubby babies!

DD is doing fine, but got annoyed this morning because she tried to play with Erik, but he didn't exactly interact with her. She doesn't understand yet that newborns are kind of boring in that all they do right now is sleep and eat. I'm sure soon enough that she'll wish he'd go back to eating and sleeping once he goes after her toys!

Hi guys....just stopping in to check on everyone.

Lorie - glad to hear all is well with you guys...I luv oinker babies too!

Lorie, glad to hear things are going well.
Lori, do you have any updates? You said maybe on the 9th...no pressure if you don't or can't share...

We had a pretty nasty thunderstorm up here this morning, but it was short at least. It's still mad humid. I washed my tables here at work because it is a paperwork afternoon and they took more than 20 minutes to dry! Hmmph. At least I had a good excuse for a break lol. Can't let their precious paperwork get wet! :lmao:

Hey y'all!

We're home.

Lorie, I'm happy that you & Erik are home!!! I hope Sienna improves now that she is home again. I think it's good that Todd had to handle everything!

We didn't return until last night! We were able to get another night at BCV on points!!! :cool1: I've realized that I need to do less vacation planning and more praying! This vacation was wonderful!!! We did have a few heavy showers but they were great for cooling things off & thinning out crowds. Since our only priority was doing the attractions Alexis wanted it worked out fine for us. The only park that had really long lines was MK, so we were able to get her rides in during extra magic evenings. We had some really wonderful meals!!! We weren't able to get anymore character meals, but Cinderella showed up at the Princess breakfast so Alexis was thrilled with that. We didn't make it to FF decided to hang in the parks a little longer & then hang at the pool. We did get lunch at Chefs de France! I had forgotten that Ratatouille now made an appearance there!!! Just that was worth it, we were totally surprised & y'all should have seen Alexis! The food was delicious too! We also had a fabulous meal at CG! :thumbsup2 Really good! Yachtsman was very good too & we also ate at the new Kidani Village rest. Sanaa. It is ground floor level with windows opening onto the Savannah. We saw zebras & giraffe actually running & playing, it was too cool. The food was a blend of Indian & African really yummy!

I haven't loaded in pictures yet. I'll try to do it soon. oh, Alexis was so good!! The child kept herself entertained in the car by singing. I don't think she whined once the whole trip. It was all just great!

Hey y'all!

We're home.

I'm so glad the rain didn't interfere with a great vacation! Sounds like not planning may work, huh? Alexis is such a good girl behaving like a little princess for y'all. Can't wait to get details on the food!!!!! Glad to have you back, hopefully all of you are well rested.

hey everyone! sorry haven't been around this week - been going crazy trying to get everything ready for the conference starting Thursday...got my sermon finished for church service on Sunday. most of the music is together...conference is in Kenner Thursday - Sunday at the Airport Hilton...

Sheryl - Glad to hear your trip was great! And awesome for scoring an extra night! :woohoo:

My Spazz-O-Matic phone erased all the texts, emails, and history again. I am wondering if I pushed some strange button to have it clear the cache on a regular basis? :confused3

THREE WEEKS FROM TODAY....I shall make my escape!! :yay::dance3::woohoo:

Sounds like a wonderful time. I'm jealous you got to see Remy! He'll be gone by the time we're there. Very cool on the extra night; we had to add an extra day last year. Really, how can you not? :cool1:

THREE WEEKS FROM TODAY....I shall make my escape!! :yay::dance3::woohoo:

:confused3 on the phone. THREE WEEKS! :dance3::cheer2::yay::cool1::woohoo: Any word on the apartment?

Did you all see this thread? Somebody over in the photo session took some photos in NOLA. There are some good shots. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2198289

No word on the apartment yet. I'll call on Friday or Monday if I don't hear from them. I suspect they are waiting for the paperwork from NOPD, so I'll give it a few days.

I was driving everybody nuts today at work. "Three weeks from today at this time I'll be on the way to the airport...three weeks from today at this time the plane will be 17,000th in line for takeoff at JFK...." :lmao: Payback for all their annoying comments...which, by the way, are still rolling in...

I'm off to bed...early for me but I am tired. Goodnight!
