Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

Bethany, PLEASE go to Dr. TODAY!!! Numbness in your body is never good. Let us know what the Dr. tells you.

Lori, I'm glad a truce was called. I think we have all been in the situation you were in yesterday (I know I have).

Mary-thanks! I am hoping I am not the only one that has been pee'od at thier mate!!pirate:(yes, still in pirate mode on FB)

Bethany- I already told you 2 nights ago what I thought-get your butt to the doctor!:snooty: Feel better soon!:thumbsup2

Going to the pool today and maybe the lake too-it is sooo pretty!

Dh got his iPhone so he can join all you connected people! He is loving it so far. He was gonna wait till the new one but decided, after his old phone stopped ringing or buzzing at all, that it was time. Oh, he ordered it online last week. So now I have an almost new iTouch. I had a zenVplus, and it was fine but downloading podcasts and such was NOT easy. No wonder iTunes/Apple is so successful-it was a BREEZE to get my Dis podcast and I bought a couple Disney apps for 99 cents. I now have updates of park times and such and dining plan stuff on it! cool!

Girl I think everyone gets mad at the spouse every once in a while.
LOL when we were in the early years.. it was like every freaking day HAHA.. how we survived im not sure. 22 yr olds should not be allowed to get married ; ). My communication skills were a tad flawed back then to say the least. Thank goodness with age comes maturity.
Those days are long gone, but we still have our days of not really liking each other.

I really wish I would have gotten the Itouch. Im not in love with my Zune.

I did go to the doctor. I had fallen asleep and didn't wake up until around 11 so it would have been nearly impossible to get walk-in at the office, so I went to the ER. They have like a dual ER - trauma and "fast-track" (like a clinic...but it's not that fast). From the time I got there to when I left it was about 4.5 hours; which is probably less than the clinic would have been - one time I went at 8am walk-in to the clinic and they left for lunch and I wasn't seen until the afternoon.

I do have a slight fever; just over 100. I'm usually around 96 so this is pretty high for me. It's not swine flu (I didn't think it was) but it may be regular flu (but they didn't test for it because it's so unreliable it's pointless. :confused3) They did do a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia; it's likely bronchitis. They did give me antibiotics and sudafed...he said I could take sudafed. :thumbsup2

And he doesn't want me going back to work until Friday. I got a doctor's note for that. :thumbsup2 Another thing is they said it may be environmental, but until there is a change in environment they cannot say for sure.

Hey Y'all,

Bethany, I'm so glad you went to the hospital!!! I was really worrying about you! Get lots of rest! I hope the meds help quickly!

We had a nice day today. We had Alexis' Graduation Mass this morning, then we went to Parrot Pete's for brunch. It was so beautiful out there! The weather was spectacular today & that Fountain Park feels like Disney World. We sat out there for hours. Then DD & I went run errands, then came home & sat outside some more.:goodvibes

Lori, I think the husband problem must have been going around last night! We had some "issues" over here too! And IT was still there this morning! ;) Thank goodness we had church & an Alexis thing this morning! Otherwise I not sure what I would have done.

congrats Alexis!

glad you went to the doc Bethany

I am not feeling well. we had the cat in the house last night ( the one that has adopted us) and Jeff decided this thing needed to be spayed. so he brought it to the SPCA..well they called after it was under anesthesia and said "uh, it has already been spayed..." :confused3 whatever...so they cut a part of it's ear or something that should indicate it. then the cat had to hang out this afternoon cause it was still groggy.

bad thing is...I am deathly allergic to cats. love em to death but can't be around them. so I am having asthma issues :( plus probably a touch of what Grayce has. I will go get a cortisone shot if it gets any worse.

so I have been asked to sing the National Anthem with a 6 piece brass band at church this weekend - how cool! just praying I can keep my voice/chest ok until then....

AND...I am SO contemplating a trip to Orlando in July....there is a conference that deals with gifted kids. Grayce would be able to hang out with other kids with gifted games and things on the Friday and go to Disney on Saturday with their YES program (same one we are going with in April 2010 for school I think). and also have stuff for her on Sunday. I would be able to be trained to facilitate groups for parents on dealing with their gifted kids....i want to do this but then I don't know that I would have the time to devote to others right now...I know next two years and going on are going to require a lot of structure on my part to help Grayce learn to be successful. Also, it would be our 15th anniversary on 7/16 (conference starts 7/17) so that would be neat...and we were looking at stuff like the Holy Land experience, Sea World, and some dinner theatres to do. Jeff wouldn't have anything to do, however, but he could catch a cab to go alone. which not sure he could/would want to do...I guess I just need a sign either way.

Sounds JUST like us-both stubborn and wanting things our way, but thankfully we have learned to REALLY love each other-even on(after:laughing:) days like yesterday!!! You know what i mean- we grew up!

Sheryl - Congrats to Alexis on her graduation! I'm so glad you had such a nice day.:goodvibes

Congrats!!!

Ashton and Haley had a play tonight with thier church choir tonight. It was called American Ideal-a knockoff of AI. Ashton played Simon, and she did a great job-sarcastic and even played a British accent and his disposition-we are soo proud! Haley is in the younger choir that does back up like they have on AI-she is very animated and gotr into it-it was soo cute!

I'll have to link some video...

They said my skin felt the way it did due to the fever. I think the fever broke last night. I feel WAY better. If I could just lose the fluid in the lungs/painful cough I'd feel great!

It's not just graduation? It's a Mass? :confused3 I never did the Catholic school thing so I have no idea. I did go to a Lutheran school in grades 6 and 7 and when we had events it was with/against the Catholic schools because it was all the parochial schools in the area.

What is this Parrot Pete's and Fountain Park?

congrats Alexis!

You know if I was at your house, that cat would NOT have been inside! :lmao: It just SEES me and runs the other way. If it didn't already have a name, I'd name it Skittish.

I hope you feel better!

You are the master at justifying WDW trips...just sayin'...:rolleyes1

That sounds adorable!

And YES, I am taking it easy today! My DH was asking me about packing and I said "NO, I CAN'T PACK TODAY. Kat and Sheryl will FUSS AT ME!" :lmao:

Fountain Park is the complex where Alligator Pear is, you've been there!
AND..... YES I think I can speak for Sheryl as well, you'd better not.....;)

I was thinking it was called Fountain Park...and YES it does remind one of WDW!

And I'm not packing...I'm just looking at some papers. Blah.

Morning Y'all,

Bethany, Why are you even out of bed???! Oh I'm feeling a fussing coming on.. ;)

Lori, The play sounds so cute! I'll have to go check out the pics.

Kristina, I'm allergic to cats too. I hope the cat is back outside today. If you let it in the house & it's dander gets spread around, you are going to get really sick! You need to get well to sing with that brass band.

I have to check my camera to see if I got any good pics yesterday.

Lorie, Didn't check in yesterday? Let us know that all is good!

Hey y'all!

I'm ok, no baby yet! I was very busy yesterday- putting together the last of the baby stuff (pack n play/bassinet) and washing baby clothes and putting everything away. I also had a mountain of regular laundry to do. Don't fuss at me Sheryl and Kathy! I'm exhausted today and plan on doing nothing but cooking jambalaya for dinner (I'm making DH peel the shrimp :thumbsup2). But, I think I'm done with all of the physical work I had to do regarding getting ready for the baby. :cool1: I just have to keep up with the regular housework and cooking now.

I'll admit, I'm getting more scared now as the date gets closer! I decided to refresh my memory last night on c-section recovery and I really wish I didn't. I'm kind of freaking out because I forgot how much longer and difficult the recovery can be. It was different when I had Sienna because I didn't have another small child to take care of and we lived in a small apartment at the time that was easier to get around in and take care of (since our house was being repaired at the time because of K)- not the bigger old house now that constantly needs cleaning. DH is telling me not to worry, I'm being ridiculous, he and MIL are here to help, etc. He is taking off three weeks from work to help, so I really need to just trust him and let go of my control issues, lol.

Anyway, time to go back and catch up! Now I'm rambling...:rotfl:

Three weeks off.. Good for yall. It is kinda scary to think about taking care of a little one and a small child. I think that is one reason Ive waited so long to have another.

With two people to help you will be all good. You just sit on the couch and direct people LOL. They will take good care of everything.

Lorie, No fussing, you sound like you've got it under control!

BUT.... You do sound like you are worrying much more than necessary about the recovery & house cleaning!!:sad2:

Todd is taking off three whole weeks!!! That is terrific!!:thumbsup2 and you'll have your MIL there to help too. To me that sounds like you will have lots of time for rest, recovery & getting to know Erik!!! :lovestruc

 To you Lorie...I am here for you girl. I know I travel back and forth but when I am here I can definately help out....

Okay...its my turn to vent about my DH...man he made me so angry this morning. He bought a new carpet cleaner about 2 months ago at my request so we can clean our carpet...well i have been super crazy busy and have not gotten around to doing it. Well this morning I asked him if he could please do it and he responds "NO, you asked for it, so you do it." WTH. I went straight off....I told him well WTH, what else are you doing besides laying around all day." No he's not just doing that but I was angry. Dang it would not take long for him to do this. I know he is a bit depressed for not finding a job, he cleans and washes clothes but.....am i being over reactive here.
