Julie, thanks for the card. Look like paradise:goodvibes

Hey Y'all,

Thanks for the card! I know y'all will understand this, the card reminded me of the Poly!

:rotfl:
I figured that I could treat y'all to a picture of paradise since I can't afford a jet to take us to either the Poly or Hawaii!!

Hey y'all!

Well yesterday was the last day with the contractor, but the closet still isn't completely finished. To save money, DH is painting and doing the last bit of shelving on the inside himself. He is going to do that on Monday when he is off (he's working all weekend). But now that the contractor is gone, I have a mountain of housework to do and zero energy to do it. Here was my list today:
Wash towels
Run dishwasher
Vacuum entire house
Dust
Clean bird cages
Clean bathroom

I washed the towels, ran the dishwasher, vacuumed downstairs and the stairway, and so far that's it. :rotfl: I'm pooped- I feel like I've taken a bunch of Benadryl or something. And that list is just regular house cleaning- it isn't the cleaning that still needs to be done in my torn-up bedroom (DH says he's doing that on Monday and Tuesday). Calgon, take me away!!!

Speaking of DH working all weekend- that is why we're doing nothing on Mother's Day. :guilty: DH has to work a double because they have inventory that day. Second year in a row- next year he better be off!

Sheryl- Pedi-fours? that is hilarious! Nothing better than getting a pedicure while eating petit fours! Yumm, I want some petit fours now too!

Bethany- Have a fun trip! I hope your clothes dry. After spending many years using a laundromat, I can definitely relate! When we finally got a washer and dryer just before we moved into this house, I felt like I won the lottery!

I played bunco last night and won $20. This is the third time I've won. The last time I played, I came in second, and a few times before that I, I came in first. After I won last night, I was thinking to myself, "I hope they don't think I cheat":rotfl: I swear I don't.
Yeah, sure you don't......;)

Julie- Loved the card! That is why I grow so many hibiscus in my yard- it reminds me of the Poly/paradise in general. I can sit back there and pretend I'm on vacation!:beach:

Lorie - I'm gonna fuss now....you shouldn't be doing all of that, PLEASE take it easy. I'm so sorry that Todd has to work on Sunday, that stinks.:headache: I thought about you as soon as I saw the hibiscus in Julie's card.:goodvibes

You're right, I shouldn't. I'm going to try to space things out more- it is too much in one day. I may try to get DH to do the bathroom, but his idea of clean and my idea of clean are two totally different things! ;) And Sienna is a good little duster...

I was just getting ready to fuss at you. ;) Glad you realized it was too much! Get her dusting while you can, Alexis already wants money for doing it!

I'm so sorry that Todd is working on Sunday! :sad1::hug: If I was having something here, I'd have you over. Well, him getting that closet finished on Monday would be a nice gift wouldn't it?

Mary, I was laughing at Lorie's comment. Are you sure you don't cheat? :lmao: Or maybe you & your friends play like our friend Marilyn on the WFDT. She calls it Drunko, due to lots of loud fun & Margaritas. Are your friends just more Drunko than you are? ;)

Alright, I was bad and cleaned one bird cage and tried to give Louie the cockatiel a bath. He wasn't cooperating though, so I'll have to try again another day (you really can't give a bird a bath unless they want it). But that's it! I'm going to lay down now!

She already wants money for chores? :rotfl2: Wow, they start young, don't they? DD loves to help, but the problem is that she lacks focus...she'll be dusting for a couple of minutes, then sees something shiny or whatever, and she's off...

It would be a wonderful gift if the closet were really and truly finished on Monday! I'm keeping my fingers crossed! We were supposed to grill last night, but the contrator didn't leave until 6 o'clock, so grilling was scrapped and we went out to Chevy's instead. I think it was a pre-Mother's Day dinner, so I had that at least.

I need to get in on this "Drunko" game....:lmao:

Yes she went from that wanted to dust but kept forgetting she was doing it stage right into if I dust will you pay me $10 stage! :confused3

I'm glad you were able to go out last night. I like Chevy's!

I have to tell you I'm getting anxious waiting to hear that the work in the house is finished. I think you're getting very close to needing to have that nursery ready & waiting. Did you have to go out & buy a bunch of new baby neccesities or did you still have everything you needed?

Happy Friday ladies...

Julie, I loved the card... reminds me of my "happy place" which came in very handy while in labor;)

Lorie, I would tell you to take it easy, but Sheryl and Kat beat me to it:rotfl: Glad you got the strangers out of your house at least... though they probably weren't strangers after Sienna got throug with them. I am sorry that you have to spend mothers day without your dh.

Today was the Spring Fair so I brought home children with painted faces and striped hair... I think that they had a good time, but I have a mountain of work I have to get done thanks to the distractions:surfweb: I hope to finish up tonight so that I can take the weekend off.

Bethany, I really hope that your clothes were able to dry today. I am with Lorie, we went without a washer and dryeer for a long time and it was like Christmas when one finally showed up in my house... what am I talking about... it WAS my Christmas present that year.

Well... evidently the Iowa test scores are in? Only the K-2 take those and they were taking the week we returned from Spring Break:confused3 so why can't the LEAP scores come sooner? None the less... Fletcher did well on the Iowa test from what I heard, now I would just like to see the results myself.. Evidently (from Fletcher's teacher) the principal sent her an e-mail congratulating him for scoring so high. The teacher saw the scores and said he scored in the 4th and 5th grade levels:yay: Sorry, I had to have a minute to brag... AND NO ONE IS HOME FOR ME TO TELL:rolleyes1 Isn't that always the way. Word on the street is it is May 18th for the LEAP results.

Drunko sounds like more fun!!!!

I did lay down for a little bit, but then DD woke up, so that peace was over.

I needed Chevy's because of all of those Mexican cravings I've been having!

As far as baby stuff goes, I'm all set. I had mostly everything I needed left from DD, except for clothes. I bought some clothes for him, but held back because I had gotten so many clothing baby gifts for Sienna that many outfits didn't even get worn! Plus, I still don't know how big he's going to be yet, so I don't want to get sizes he can't fit into or too much of one size.

Just as I feared we didn't get to leave today. That's what happens when you own your own business.

Thanks for all the great advice anyway. We'll be down there tomorrow in our Mangham purple cheering for out boys. We have the only public school team left in 1-A high school ball.

Thanks again and wish us luck.

Penny

Lorie.. put the birdie in the sink and just let the water drip. They usually like to just play in it.. well most of them lol. You may have a strange bird ; )

New story out of Lafayette ...

Woman Claims Nutria Threat, Sues Wal-Mart
05-08-2009 8:40 AM

(Abbeville, LA) -- A lawsuit has been filed against a Wal-Mart store in Abbeville, seeking damages for a woman who claimed she was threatened by a nutria inside the store. Rebecca T. White and her husband, Randal White, filed the lawsuit in state district court in Abbeville April 22nd. The suit claims a wild nutria ran toward the woman, causing her to pull her shopping cart back toward her for protection. The Whites' attorney, Anthony Fontana, says the shopping cart rolled over the plaintiff's foot and caused an injury that required surgery. In the lawsuit, White claims employees had allowed the nutria to wander through the store and had given it a name--"Norman." Wal-Mart officials say they have not been served with a lawsuit but are investigating the incident.<
