Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

Omg I'm so upset. Again I come in to find a memo about what I'm doing wrong. First thing in the morning. But this time, the ap came into my room and took work off the walls and put post it notes on it with a question. I don't know if she wants it back, but my answer was "because I SUCK" I am so over this place and how nothing is ever good enough.

Sorry to vent. I want to go back home and crawl under the covers in my 90 degree apt and go back to sleep.

Our WOD is a sister store to the WODs at DTD in both DLR and WDW, not the chain of Disney Stores you see nationwide in malls.

No, we weren't in Prairieville for that DN's fair(she is DN5 now). The ones in Prairieville are DN5 and DN9mos-both girls.

I thought the ages were close, but forgot the newest little one was a girl! And, technically, the fair was the church's fair where DN5's campus is located, not the school fair. Anyhow, glad you're getting some quality time with those babies!

I can sympathize with the will we / won't we move question. Two springs in a row DH has come home with the same message - How do you feel about transferring to ...? I've agreed in principle since they were both positive career moves, but once I started considering all the details, my head just began to spin. I basically just took the attitude that people transfer all the time, and whatever was meant to be would happen. We would make it work, and I know you & DH will do the same!

:I grew up with him as my neighbor:rotfl: and Minnie Mouse too... and that one quite literally since my next door neighbor was Minnie Mouse... and brought her costume home from time to time cause she had an event to go too... normally that is a big NO NO...

I'm surprised she was allowed to take it off property. That sounds like a huge breach of protocol! It must have been some really special event.

Yeah, we here in LA know all about MG and Presidents day at WDW... ouch.. and they are pretty similar... but no Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah that I am aware of here...

Yup, WDW @ Mardi Gras time is great, except when it coincides with Presidents' Day. We've only made that mistake once.

Piglet, we do get some odd single days here, but not much of a Jewish population, so we don't get those particular religious holidays. One thing good about us starting so early (almost 3wks prior to Labor Day), is we finish before Memorial Day. So....late May / early June is a prime time to schedule that WDW trip! You don't have to deal with the August heat or the prime hurricane season.

Some bouquets to brighten ya'll's day::flower3:
Those bouquets are gorgeous! Do they smell as beautiful?
This is one of my favorite seasons for the garden. My gardenias are just starting to flower & my sweet bay magnolia is in full bloom. If only I could figure out how to pipe those fragrances directly into my house....

. :goodvibes I love white roses.

Me too, My DH sent me a dozen white roses on our wedding day. Did i use them, noooooooooooooooooo... I was young and dumb and I worked so hard on my ugly bouquet that it didn't cross my mind.... I am a dummy.... so when my Dsis got married and her intended sent her flowers, I made sure to shove some in the bouquet!

On a lighter note Lori I think that would make a great tag for you. Where is that Tag Fairy when you need her? I hope Paul gets the news he is looking for today.

Thank you- HEY, I am gonna do that! I don't have a cute one....

....

thank you and my whole frame of mind has been that we'd move where ever we need to b/c we'd really like me home FT till the kids are grown and in college. But unsure if that would be the case:guilty:. The economy STINKS. Things are MORE expensive, yet businesses are laying off or expecting you to live off less. My grocery bill has gone up, but gas is down, so be happy, right!??

Anyway- waiting ......again!

Lori

ONE of your favorite seasons to garden? Isn't spring the ONLY season?

*thinks this year could be VERY interesting...*

Psst...my lease ends 9 weeks from today! That is only 63 days away! And on Friday I can say "I'm moving next month!"

No, not counting or anything....

That's the great thing about living here - you can have something blooming just about 12mos out of the year! And if you're brave enough to try your hand at veggies, tomatoes aren't just a summer-only thing.

Of course, the 12mo growing season does wreak havoc on allergy sufferers, but you'll learn to sacrifice! ;)

Lori - I did the young & dumb thing with my wedding bouquet as well. I had some ivy entertwined with my white roses (!) that I should've attempted to root & hang onto as a living keepsake. Didn't think about it 'til we returned from the honeymoon & I saw the bouquet laying right where I dropped it the night we left.:headache:

Woo you are right about those allergies.. but yeah you learn to adjust!

Hey Y'all,

Bethany, sorry you're morning started off so rotten. Glad that you only have 63 more days until you're out of there!

jwhtwolfd, Those bouquets are beautiful! Thanks for the day brightener. :goodvibes

We had a few small home grown tomatoes in a salad last night. So good, but I won't a any more for a while. My herbs are really taking off right now, everything just tastes so much better with fresh herbs.

Lorie, How are you feeling today? I hope that pain has approved!

Lori, Prayers that news comes soon!

Kat, I hope you & Kyle are doing better!

Hey y'all, An update from Lauren on the WFDT about Kat!

Hey guys,

Kat's not feeling great today. She was up all night in pain and passed a kidney stone. She is going to try and sleep now. Pray that the pain goes away for her.

Kathy, Lots of prayers! If you need anything please call! I'd call but don't want to wake you.

Hey y'all!

Is anyone else worried about this swine flu situation? Normally I wouldn't be, but I kind of am now only because I am pregnant. I hope it just fizzles out! And the fact that they are talking about it on the news 24/7 isn't helping my worries either!

Lori- I wish I had an EASY button too! Still hoping for good news for you...

Bethany- Just keep counting down hose days!

Lorie, How are you feeling today? I hope that pain has approved!
Well the baby moved, so the sciatica all but disappeared! :cool1: BUT, the baby has moved down and is beginning to drop, so now I am walking like a cowboy and DH can't stop laughing at me!:headache: So basically I have traded one discomfort for another. I'm starting a countdown until this baby is out!

Lorie.. Todd is lucky you havent thrown anything at him for laughing LOL.

Kat.. hope you feel better very soon!!

Sheryl.. how are you feeling these days?

Lorie, I'm glad the sciatica is better:goodvibes

You are a much kinder woman than I am. Bob would have suffered seriously for laughing at my cowboy walk! :crazy2: You need to keep something handy to throw at him, whatever is nearby will work just fine! ;)

Jenny, The numbness & pain is now to the point of having bad days & really bad days. But I just can't keep complaining about it! I made the decision to put off the surgery til July, so now I just have to deal with it. I am going to call & find out when & if I can get another steroid injection to get me through. I do appreciate you thinking about me!

My niece is getting married in three weeks and she is making gift bags for all the out of town guests coming in for the wedding. I offered to make fleur de lis succors (white and dark chocolate) for her to add to the bags. Yesterday I made 80 white ones and today my back and neck are killing me. I guess I didn't realize how long I would be standing hunched over doing this. Today before I tackle the chocolate ones I'm taking some Ibuprofen.

That's a very nice offer...and, yeah, I can't figure out how people ever lived before Advil.

Wow, I'm just wondering what you could have possibly done that was SO wrong. Do you think they are just jealous that you are leaving?:lmao:

The big red one is pretty strong and perfumey , the pink in the center ones are nice and light, so I like those, and the Disney ones are a little on the fruity side, but not VERY strong. So it's not like walking in to the house when you have, say star-gazer lilies, but that's ok, b/c I'd be sneezing like crazy. :flower3:

Well, actually, down here we have 4 seasons: spring, summer, still summer and almost summer.

There's also crab, crawfish, shrimp and oyster seasons.

I know you're excitement about getting out of there. Mine was more of a race against time as the place fell down around me. I can make you a countdown chain if you want! With numbers and NOLA trivia! :rotfl:

I'm not overly concered, but I admit it gets intense when they're talking about it ALL the TIME on tv.

Glad to hear the baby is giving you a little bit of a break. We have a lot of countdowns going on here!

That was a courageous choice to make. I only hope you can have some "less bad days" :confused3 and hopefully can enjoy the wedding.

Tricia, I hope you didn't wear yourself out making those favors! They sound really cute.

Lorie, I am worried about the swine flu. Bob had engineers in the office last week, guys that travel all over the world. So that has me pretty freaked. Then with Jazz Fest, our increased Mexican population since Katrina and the Cruise ships visiting Mexico, uh yeah can you tell I'm more than a little worried. I walked around the house last night with the Clorox wipes & lysol! :confused3

Oh Sheryl,, I'm so sorry to hear that and I hope they can give you some relief until the surgery. So the Dr approved the July date?

Oh, and I wanted to tell y'all that I had a dream Bethany-style the night before last. I dreamt that I was at a grammar school reunion, and it was at Panchos. Everyone was at the buffet line (now, I haven't been to the new Panchos yet, so this is what I guess it would look like...) and I noticed that everyone looked like they did in grammar school (12 or 13 years old), but they really were my age now. Except for me- I was my age now, and very pregnant as I am now. Well, I was looking everywhere for the flautas...where the heck were the flautas? I was just searching high and low, until they were closing the place down, and no flautas to be found- I was just going crazy looking for them. And then I woke up, telling DH that I was craving Mexican food BAD, and still am now! :rotfl: Weird- I won't try to analyze that one!

I also found out one of my new baby gifts- DH's coworker (and my old boss) told DH to tell me that he is sending me a very nice $40 bottle of wine that he knows I would love. Now THAT'S what I'm talking about- I love that man! :cool1: Who needs diapers when you can get a bottle of the good stuff!

I didn't even think about the cruise ships and our tourists. DH did say that he's a bit scared of going to Home Depot or Lowe's now. I know it's terrible to say that, but the Home Depot around here has a ton of Mexican men that hang around the front looking for work.

I am worried about swine flu too. It's already here and spreading, and I'm in the schools and on mass transit. Plus, I already have enough respiratory issues, the flu would be bad.

Kat I hope you're feeling better!
