Metal roofing on your house?

My DH's cousin has a metal roof and they have a problem getting good cell phone reception. They says it's because of the metal roof. Does anyone else have this problem?

We have this problem and since we do not have a cell phone it is a big problem. I have had company over and they have been able to use their phones. I am thinking it is because we have the cheapest cell phones available? I need to go in and talk to the cell phone company.

In terms of fire I have read that it has something to do with not being able to use an axe (or whatever they use) to get into your roof. Since more and more people are getting metal roofs fire departments are getting the equipment for them.

Those Metal Roofs went up all over Oregon in the 80's and 90's they have been replaced now. We have a ton of rain Fall, Winter, Spring, and yes even in the Summer. The metal roofs rusted, and started leaking with-in 5 to 10 years. As hard and as long as it rains here people started having trouble early on.

Same thing happened with T-1-11 siding it soaked up the rain like a sponge causing major failures.
