Met Jiminy Cricket today!!!

My fiance and I got to meet Jiminy Cricket today at the Magic Kingdom! I was so excited! Since it is Earth Day weekend, he was over in the Plaza Rose Garden. We got our pictures taken with him....he's very tiny, but very cute!!

Me too! It was the highlight of my day - it even beat out breakfast at the castle!

My DH will be SO jealous. That is his favorite and in years of going we have never seen him.

You're so lucky!! I was just thinking, is today Earth day? I saw somewhere, probably these boards, that that's when you are sure enough to see him. I always hope in the back of my mind that we'll be lucky enough to see him. Dd 2 loves him since she saw Pinnochio. Congrats!!

Yes today is Earth Day. They had a little "Earth Day" area set up in the Plaza Rose Garden, with some info on recycling, they gave out a Earth Day Pin (not a trading type pin, more like the birthday pin type pin), you could let a box of lady bugs go in the roses (they are natural pest control) and there was some info on recycling etc. They had people from the horticulture department there chatting with guests. It was quite interesting. One of the woman had helped to plant the Butterfly Garden at EPCOT. We see all these things that "magically" appear, but forget about so many of the people behind the scenes!

Yeaaa!!!!!!!! I was hoping to hear that Jiminy was out today, and he was!! I was so happy that they had a special spot for him with signs and all - took the guess work out of finding him! I was doing the and DD said I was "weird"! I am definitely buying the Photopass pics of this as well. I have to admit, they did a better job today!

Mecha Figment - I wish Jiminy would be less rare! It would be awesome if he got out more! I think it would be great if he was not so rare too! The only other unusual characters for MK we saw today - that is unusual for what we have seen lately were LaunchPad McQuack in Town Square and Buzz (he isn't in MK too much anymore is he????) in Tomorrowland near COP. Stitch was there too. I wanted to get back to Toontown to see if anyone special was there, but Tara wanted to go home, and I obliged. Since I drug her around WS yesterday!

Now if someone had some insider info where I might see Daisy over the next couple weekends I would be in heaven!

I think it's more because of the "let your conscious be your guide" kind of thing from his movie Pinocchio. Jiminy was seen as the one to guide people to do good. Jiminy is seen in various places at Disney as a icon for doing "good" things, like to promote recycling. So I guess he is connected to Earth Day like with the recycling, to help people go above and beyond and do the right thing. Something like that!!

For as many times that I have been to WDW, I have never had the chance to meet Jiminy. This is great!

That's very cool! I've been going to WDW since it opened and I've never met Jiminy. I hope we see him when we get there in August. My kids love him!

Another Jiminy fan here. I don't know if anyone mentioned but Jiminy is the "mascot" of Disney's Environmentality campaign. You'll see him on the recycle bins in the resort rooms.
