Messing up song lyrics

The one that I could never make out so I put my own in, I guess, was from the Beach Boys...Kokomo.

Where they say..."To Martinique, that Monserrat Mystique"

Understand that I hate winter so when I started hearing this song in the middle of a cold Vermont winter I heard the lyrics as:

To Martinique, that Vermont's a rotten state.

Never could understand why the Beach Boys wanted to single out our little state like that...but it seemed appropriate at the time.

and oh yeah,

the theme to Family Guy, I swear that Stewie is singing "effing cry" not as my DH tells me "laugh and cry".

That's what I thought he was saying too. I'll have to pay more attention next time.

AC/DC Dirty deeds

Real lyric-dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap.

What I heard-dirty deeds and the thunder chief :rotfl2:

OMG! Me too. Well, gee thanks for clearing that up for me. :lmao:

I used to mix up the lyrics of "Dont stop till you get enough" by Michael Jackson
Instead of "Keep on with the force don't stop" I thouhgt it was "Keep on Rollercoaster"

My sister used to think that Billy Squier's "My Kinda Lover" was "My Candelabra"

DH & I recently went to see Herman's Hermits (Peter Noone) at Epcot. There was one song I had never heard before and swore they were singing "She's A Muscular Boy". After DH stopped laughing he told me its "She's A Must To Avoid".

We're big Beatles fans so my 2 year old is familiar with several of their songs, but she sings them wrong.

In "I Saw Her Standing There" she says, "How could I dance with my MOTHER!?" Instead of ANOTHER. She tells us we're wrong when we sing it right.

My favorite is in "from Me to You" she says, "With love, PUPPY to you" instead of FROM ME. Hilarious.

The remix for "The First Time" by Family Force 5 features Matt Theissen from Reliant K. When Matt starts singing, he says "Cold chillin' out for the first time. Thuggin' up for the first time. Cold chillin' out for the second time time. I make it rain for the first time." I thought "thuggin' up" was "****ing up" xD

That song that's out currently on the radio that goes "It's like my Ipod's stuck on replay", my DD and her friends thought it was "It's like my EYEBALL's stuck on replay."

When I was a little girl around 5, I really liked to sing "and I am Mommy's ***** old girl." I had no idea what I was singing, but my mom got really mad at me, yet didn't explain why. The REAL lyrics- "And I am a Material Girl" by Madonna.

I just remembered another.
When I was younger and the song "Taking Care of Business" was playing instead of business I said Biscuits.
For the longest time I thought it was a song about a chef who was making biscuits.

I just remembered I saw a video of Panic! At The Disco covering "The Weight" by The Band and the lead singer, Brendon, sounds like he's saying "Luke is way out of touch with Dave" when he says "Luke is waiting on the judgement day". :P

i was at a party last night and we were dancing to "telephone" by lady gaga. when she says "my telephone" my friend was singing "nutella phone"

OMG, this is hilarious...I've been laughing for 7 pages....LOL We still sing "but the shed is not my son" or "the chair is not my son" or something else weird for that MJ song. And we sing along with MJ a LOT in our house. LOL My favorite is from DD13, a few years ago there was a popular country song, Paint Me A Birmingham, well one day she brought me a picture she'd drawn of the song, there was a house with a porch and a lady on the porch and fire with a BURNING HAND in it.....LOL She thought the song was Paint Me A Burning Hand...LOL Yes, we still tease her, unfortunately she threw the picture away so it's gone but man, that was hilarious.....we laughed for hours over that. :)

I have 3 that are related to kids (I mess songs up all the time too, but these are cute.)

I love Bon Jovi, listen to them all the time. My kids are now huge fans too but my DD8 sings "Shot through the heart, and you're so lame. You give love a bad name." I haven't corrected it, it always makes me smile.

Same DD used to come home from church singing "Our God is an awesome Guy" instead of Awesome God. We loved it, we'd have her sing it over and over.

YEARS ago back when I was in HS there was a song, don't remember who it was by, the words were "Long and tall and queen of them all." My cousin who was like 7 thought it was "long and tall and queen of the mall" and used to say it was a song about me. (I'm 6'1", was very thin and did used to love the mall.)

Not the thread to be reading right now since my dd and her friend are sleeping in the living room right behind me!
