Messed Up

I can't believe I did this. Currently we have ressies at VWL for Dec. 21-26 (1BR and studio for 1st night and 2BR for other nights). I'm also on the waitlist to get a 2BR at AKV for the same time (canceling VWL of course). Well the AKV ressie would take 5 pts. more than the VWL ressie. I had been saving 12 pts. in next years UY just in case the wait list came thru (I've borrowed all my other pts. for next year). Well a couple of weeks ago I had the big idea of going ahead and making our ressie for next Sept. at AKV-Kidani. In making this ressie, I went ahead and used those 12 pts. in next years UY and completely forgot my waitlist request. So basically, if my waitlist were to come through now, I don't have the pts. to get it. I can't believe I made such a blunder. Oh well, I guess I'll call MS tomorrow and cancel my waitlist, no need to take up the space when I don't have the pts. I can also cancel our Christmas dinner ressie at Boma, because we would have only wanted it if we had stayed at AKV.

I feel like such an idiot. The thing is, I had the pts. in the following UY for next September's ressie. Has anyone else ever done such a bone heading thing?

I would stop beating yourself up. your waitlist will be automatically canceled 30 days out from arrival, unless you call back and request it to stay on the waitlist for up to 7 day to arrival. you could always call MS and have them take your next years 12 points from your sept trip and replace them from your use year points that you booked sept trip. to make things easier, i think your waitlist for AKL maybe a slim chance and things always happens for a good reason. pixie dust to you!

I think I'll just not worry about the waitlist anymore. We were not that strong on changing to AKV anyway. We really like VWL and staying there for Christmas is going to be fantastic. The only reason I even put in the waitlist was so that DS could stay there. I guess I'll go ahead and call MS this morning and cancel even though it will be cancelled at 30 days automatically. Plus I'll cancel our Boma ressie.

We have never stayed at any resort for Christmas, but if given the choice, we would choose VWL. These things will be happening more frequently I struggle just to remember to bring my lunch to work everyday. I have about a 70% success rate
