Oh to have BWV DVC! Sigh...

We girls woke up bright and early and decided to start the day with a good ole breakfast buffet! Now I know a lot of people say you’ll be nervous and excited on your wedding day, so probably won’t end up eating much, but I knew my appetite could never fail me, and proved myself right by digging in to a whole host of yummy goodness over at the Captain’s Grille at the Yacht Club. We had sausage, bacon, salmon, yogurt, strawberries, pancakes, waffles, muffins, bagels and some delightful apple and cinnamon crumble concoction which surely must have been a dessert! Yep, we had the works!

We visited the resort shop to get some water to take back to our room, and saw a cute Mickey and Minnie wedding plush which played the “Hear Comes The Bride” tune, which we joked we should buy!

When we got back to the room we all got kitted out in our wedding day underwear and put some comfy clothes on while we waited for Beaute Speciale to arrive. Julie nipped down to the shop to get some champagne and orange juice so we could make some Bucks Fizz. When Ana and Laine arrived, Ana told us we were drinking Mimosas and said “but wait, you guys call it something different – Fizz Bocks!” That made us chuckle, and the girls continued to keep us entertained with their stories whilst they got us ready.

The lady from Carolyn Allens arrived and got on with steaming mine and the girl’s dresses. She was so quiet and down to business that we almost forgot she was there!

I’d brought some print outs of hair styles I liked, and Laine did a great job creating a mash up of them all. I just asked for natural looking makeup on all of us, so Ana used the same colours for each of us. The girls loved their eye makeup so much they asked me to find out from Ana what the colours were the next day when she was coming to recreate my look for our MK and Epcot Bridal Portrait. In case anyone wants to know, the eyeshadow colours are MAC Blackberry, Yogurt and Trax!

Ana warned us Randy would be early and sure enough, we had about 5 minutes to ourselves before he arrived, half an hour before his scheduled time.

It started to spit with rain outside and Kathleen rang our room, which Jackie answered, and apparently she called to say “I know, I know, it’s raining!” But she agreed we’d just keep an eye on it. I wasn’t too worried as it wasn’t heavy rain, but hoped it wouldn’t mean we’d have to use an indoor backup location.

Randy wasted no time in getting snapping, and although at first we weren’t quite sure what to do with ourselves, he made us all feel at ease and soon we were used to him clicking away.

The pin on my garter was something old and blue - my mum found it, apparently it was something we picked up in Disney when I was a child. Plus the garter itself was blue!
I borrowed an earring from Julie, which I pinned into my bra so it wouldn't get lost, and I had plenty of new things on anyhow!

Stan arrived shortly after and so the videoing was also soon underway.
Now, were the boys as organised as us?...

Meanwhile, the boys, not needing to spend so much time getting ready, had a nice leisurely morning ahead of them. Simon, his dad, Adam and Steve went over to the Winter Summerland mini golf course and passed the time that way.
They were each given a limited edition Stitch golf ball to keep, which we now have as a reminder of the busy morning Simon had on our wedding day!

I so wanted to be able to say I’d ridden Tower of Terror or some such ride on my wedding day, but there just wasn’t enough time for us to have risked it that morning. I was very jealous the boys got to play golf, I think it comes across in our wedding video when Stan asks me what Simon is up to that morning!
IMG_5402.jpg

Simon’s parents and Adam and Anna also went to Typhoon Lagoon that morning, which has become infamous, as Liz decided to take her handbag (containing Adam’s phone) on the lazy river with her (who thinks this is a bad idea already?!) and yes, it got a dunking, and yes, the phone was ruined. Adam did alright out of it in the end though, as his mum bought him a brand new iPhone once back home!

After all the fun and frolics, the gang at Pop Century started to get into their wedding gear, and gathered at the main pool for a few photos:

We used our limo included in the Escape package to give everyone from Pop the VIP arrival treatment to transport them to the Boardwalk:

Back at the ranch, when we decided it was probably time for me to get in my dress, I wondered aloud to the girls whether the men were going to give me any privacy, but apparently not! Luckily I’m used to getting changed in front of others from dancing, but I did wonder whether this might have made some people feel a little uncomfortable!

The girls had a fun time lacing me into my dress!

I know, I was insanely jealous!

My dress was a Maggie Soterro Capri Lynette Emma, an old design now. The plan was for the crinoline to match the bridesmaids and flowers, unfortunately it ended up a bit more purple than anticipated!

We could see some setting up happening over at Sea Breeze Point - here is my super strength vision:

Haha no, one of the boys took this when they arrived!

Our flowers then arrived at the room and we had a few more quick piccies before...

Thanks Rachel!

The garter was an eBay purchase, I forget the name of the seller though...

Updates, pictures, oh my!

I agree, boys have it sooo easy, no fair! :rotfl2:
You looked so pretty and so did your girls!

I just read your TR! How did I miss it!? You looked gorgeous on your wedding day! I love your hair and dress! Great report so far! Can't wait to hear more! :goodvibes

What fabulous photos!!! Makes me soooo glad I have booked Randy for next year!!
Did you get the guy's suits from Carolyn Allen? If so how did you sort out the whole 'measuring up' thing from the UK? How long before the big day did they try them on?
Were the decorations on the cake table (rose petals, plants etc) included or were they extra?
Sorry for all the questions, and thanks for any help you can give!!!
It is so hard planning from the UK!!

We were really pleased with our photos :lovestruc

Yes we hired the suits from CAs. The boys had a fitting around lunchtime on the Monday, and the wedding was on the Wednesday. There were a couple of minor length alterations to one set of trousers and one jacket I think, but they left these at our resort reception on the Tuesday. We had the boys take their measurements at home, I gave them all a form I'd made to fill in with all the details we needed. But if any sizes need swapping they'll sort it out at the fitting, no worries!

I can't remember what was on our cake table now, I'll have to look! But I know I only paid for some petals to be scattered - I need to investigate these plants now!!!!

The girls told me there seemed to be some movement over at Sea Breeze Pointe and I really can’t remember what we did to fill in the time as it now seems like no time at all until Kathleen rang, Julie speaking to her this time (I never even got a go!!) telling us it was time for us to come down to the lobby.

The next couple of photos are really funny, as we hadn't spied Randy in the corridor waiting to pap us, so the first photo we all look really shocked that this flash goes off, then the next one we look so relieved and happy that it's Randy!:

I must say at this point, I'd forgotten how many photos we have, and it's so so SO hard to be selective, but we literally have hundreds of them, so I've cut them down for your sakes, or you'll end up dreaming about us and I can't afford to pay for therapy for you all!! But don't worry, there's still plenty, so you will probably still end up being sick of the sight of us!

We had a small gathering waiting for us, my parents, Kathleen and I think Randal Miller was also there briefly.

I honestly cannot remember what anyone said to me at this point, I was just too excited to get going! However, first we had another photo opp with my parents and the girls outside.

Soon it was time to make the long walk to Sea Breeze Pointe, if you think about it, the Boardwalk is one ultra long aisle!! My mum and the girls kept telling me off for walking too fast, I must have been marching, but I was on a mission as we stepped out into the dazzling sunshine - not a drop of rain in sight!!

I love the colours in this one, I think it's a great picture of the girls.

We passed a few people on the way round the Boardwalk, who offered their congratulations. Everyone was so keen to congratulate us whenever we saw other WDW guests, which is so different to in England where people just seem to stop and stare at brides they see, but not say anything to them!

The boys had also spied me and my entourage from afar - look at my poor mum so far behind, I really was getting a wriggle on!:

IMG_5470.jpg

Hopefully I'd find a groom waiting for me after all that marching!!

Soon we were at Sea Breeze Pointe, my mum went to take her seat, and Kathleen adjusted my train.
I remember Kathleen setting off walking forward with the girls, telling me she’d be back for me and my dad shortly, but I presumed she was just taking them to tell them what to do. Then I suddenly saw they were already off and down the aisle, I realised this was it!

I’d been waiting for the nerves all day, but suspected that, like with dancing, I’d probably just get nervous right before I was about to “go on”. The funny thing was, the nerves never came! At least I didn’t feel them, but Simon and I giggled a lot during the first few minutes of the ceremony, so I guess that’s where they emotions came out!

Simon’s mum says she just remembers me coming down the aisle with a huge grin on my face, and I that’s what I also really remember about our wedding ceremony, we smiled and laughed so much, it was great!

My dad was prompted to say a few words as he gave me away, which took him by surprise, but he ended up making a whole little speech to everyone which was lovely!

The ceremony went without a hitch, although Randal Miller did pronounce my middle name incorrectly, oh yeah, and there was the fun we had with the sand ceremony. Note to self: should have remembered funnel! We ended up with more sand on the table then in the vase I think, but we all had a good laugh about it, and it just made another memorable moment in the day!
