I see that you have a family of 6 ...I do too! We are also a one income family and I wondered if you could elaborate on how you save on trips. Where do you stay...what does an average trip(length?) cost? I am desperate to go and I am struggling with making it work on a tight budget! We are going to drive this time to save $$ but I would love some other suggestions!

;)

Well we try to eat breakfast in room a few days of the trip. We also stay off prop when we need to. We used www.vrbo.com in June and got a great rental home for $560. for 7 nights. We loved having our own pool and lots of space. Dh loved the King size bed and privacy... We also drive down 2 times a year and only fly once. We get Ap's and that makes all the other trips low cost. Two of our kids are under 3 so when we eat at buffets they are free. Ali our 2yo turns 3 later this year and we may eat more counter service after that. So far we have found a light b-kfast and a counter lunch and 1 sit down a day is the way to go.... Our kids get one toy or treat a day not including snack food. We do get out Ap's from our Tax return and so I do not save for that.
For our December trip Our budget looks like this
Drive down $500. This includes 2 nights at a PLine hotel and gas and food. Hotel (unsure of what we will do here) Mabie PORR with a trundle and a crib. Or Contemp with a crib. We may rent a house or I have seen a good deal on WWW.hotelkingdom.com for Amerisuites which has a free breakfast and is fairly new.The high end would be $600.-700. with the codes and the low end would be $300.-$350. Our passes are paid for all but Ali who would be about $150-$180. Food is about $140.-$160. a day But if we stay off prop we will save alot on bkfast and snacks so we would only need $100. We also bring drinks into the park in the summer and have had no problem with this.

So x-mass will be high end $2200.
low end will be about $1500.
Not bad for 6 people! Hope this helps! Feel free to PM me!:D
