Friend wants to stay same time as me, but doesn't want to spend too much $$$. She's looking at either a Mermaid room or a room at Pop. Has anyone stayed at both and give me opinions so I can get back to her. I haven't stayed at either

I've stayed in both and I'd choose A standard room at Pop.
Pop has newly refurbished room with queen beds. You will be closer to buses/food at Pop and it will be cheaper.

POP over AoA Mermaid room for us. POP rooms also have a coffee maker in them now. I remember the walk back to the room at AoA being really long after a day in the parks.

I would also choose the Pop over the Little Mermaid room; however, I'm glad we stayed in the Little Mermaid room. It was a nice experience for my daughter, and we enjoyed the pools and the grounds at AoA.
Having said that, I would choose Pop in the future. I thought Pop's rooms were cleaner and the food at their food court was much better. And, they are less expensive.

Until the mermaid rooms become the same price as the other values, I do not think they are worth it. Plus, give me a queen bed over a full size any day.

I think it also depends on who will be in the party. For an adult trip, I'd go with Pop no question. We stayed there last fall, and it was great. Queen beds were nice, and I liked the added floor space from being able to fold up the murphy bed when not in use and have a table instead.

That said, if I were going with DD3, I'd probably choose LM if the prices were comparable. I think AoA has better theming, and the play areas are hands-down better than Pop's. Last fall's trip was with DS8 and DS10, and even they were wowed by the theming when we walked around AoA. DD would love to explore and climb on the cartoon play areas. I think AoA has more to offer kids (especially little kids) in terms of a "Disney" experience, but my adult self prefers the remodeled rooms at Pop.

POP between those 2. The Little Mermaid rooms feel dated to me and are a FAR walk to food and buses.
The updated POP rooms are great. That being said, we also stayed at an updated room in All Star Music and I really enjoyed it and it was even cheaper than POP

I've stayed at both and prefer the rooms at Pop, but prefer AoA as a resort. So it depends how much time you are spending in the room. I find everything besides the rooms to be superior at AoA:

- grounds/theming - so cute and so Disney
- pools - underwater music at Nemo pool, which is the biggest of all the resort pools, cabanas at the Cozy Cone pool for shade seekers
- food court - quality and variety much better, real plates and silverware versus disposable
- buses - shorter lines, covered bus stops at the resort so you're not subjected to the elements
- noise level in rooms - found Pop rooms to be very loud/could hear all our neighbors around us through the walls
- overall vibe - everyone seems happier?

That being said, the rooms at Pop are designed very well and you can get a standard room close to the main hall and bus stops. Your friend could book a room at Pop and cross over the bridge to AoA to check out the grounds and dine in the food court, combining the best of both worlds (just can't use the AoA pools).

Rooms are identically-sized at both resorts. Family Suites at WoW are about twice as big as rooms.

Which rooms are bigger? I would potentially need 2 pack n' plays.
If you keep the murphy bed "up", then Pop would give you more space for 2 pack n plays. If you put the murphy bed down, im honestly not sure. And at LM/AoA, im not sure you'd have enough space for 2 pack n plays to be honest.

I would definitely go with Pop as the rooms are newly refurbished and VERY nice. There's coffee makers and the beds are QUEEN size! Whereas with LM at AoA isnt it still double size beds?

Ahh. Thank you! I think I'll go with Pop! I have good memories staying there with my family when I was younger

If you get a lake view room, its so beautiful. Such a peaceful place, and nice view. I love the 60's because not only do you get a lake view room but youre also close to the bridge that connects to AoA. Its a short walk. I love walking around AoA, eating at the food court (love the food, its different). Best of both worlds.
