Hi all,

Next year myself & family are staying on-site for the first time; and booked with the free dining promotion through Virgin. This is new to us as well; we have previously paid OOP for all meals & ate pretty horrendously.

My question is: when using the dining plan in a TS restaurant can you order from the full menu? I have seen somewhere saying that only selected items are available to order for those using the dining plan?

The importance being 1 member of the family is extremely picky & would spoil the meal if the only meal on the menu she would eat isn't covered by the plan.

If this is true how would I know beforehand which items are included on the dining plan?

You will be able to order from the full menu. Keep in mind that appetizers and side dishes are extra as well as alcohol, gratuity.
Make sure you make your ADR's as soon as possible.

Thanks for the reply. I was trying to amass as much information as possible. This was mentioned no where!

We are still 250 days out, so another 2 months until I can make ADRs. But I am itching..

How did you get this promotion through Virgin?

I made the booking with Virgin; they were just offering the 'free dining' offer that Disney were offering. It's not a Virgin promotion as such.

Remember, not all restaurants have been added to the 2012 plan yet. The ones not owned by Disney do not have to sign contracts until the end of the year. However, it is pretty safe to assume that, if they were on it last year, they will be one it this year.

The only exclusions/restrictions that have been mentioned are:

-Beaches n Cream: the Kitchen Sink dessert is not included
-Via Napoli: recently people have said they are not allowing diners to combine credits for the Large or Half Meter pizzas
-Marakesh Feasts are allowed, but there's an upcharge

If you're on the regular plan (1 TS, 1CS, 1 snack per night), appetizers are not included unless you choose from the prix fixe menus that are available at a few TS restaurants or you book the dinner shows, Fantasmic package or CRT.

If you choose the prix fixe menus (available at Les Chefs, Le Cellier for lunch only, Nine Dragons, Kona and Captain's Grill) you're limited to the choices on just that part of the menu, which is where you might have read about only "selected items" being available.
