We have been once so far. We also heard that the food is not the greatest. We went at dinner time and asked if we could get burgers and fries. They had no problem with that. :thumbsup2 We are going again in two weeks! :teeth:

We love the onion rings. Yes they are greasy but they are supposed to be. I also enjoy the pasta dish and my husband often orders a burger. The burger is on the lunch menu but we have been always able to get it for lunch

I was there a couple of weeks ago. The Spinach and Artichoke Dip was fabulous! The best I ever had. I'm not even that crazy about spinach and I wanted to lick the plate clean.

I got the shrimp penne pasta, but with chicken since I'm allergic to shrimp. It was really good. It was hot, not too heavy and really tasty. I highly recommend it.

I didn't have dessert so I can't help you there. Sorry! :guilty:

ETA: The others with me got onion rings, a burger and baby back ribs and those all got thumbs up too. :thumbsup2

I like the atompshere of the Sci-fi a lot, but the food is average. Stick to the basics like burgers. Milkshakes are great.

Onion rings are great and I always do the burger....I love it. I hear good things about the chilli too...I may try this on next trip!

My husband really enjoyed the onion rings, which are "classic and greasy", to be sure. i thought the spinish and artichoke dip was okay, but nothing to rave about. My hubby liked his burger but said it was nothing special. Ribs had very little meat, about what you would get from Chilis or TGIFridays or something like that. Hubby enjoyed the meal but I think it was more for the atmosphere, I love the atmosphere as well but having eaten there several times I'm tired of a very mediocre meal there. You'll likely enjoy it well enough if it is your first time and you keep in mind that the food is more like drive-in quality and fits the setting.

Definitely get a chocolate milkshake, though.

Shrimp Penne Pasta - With Garlic and Capers, Plum Tomatoes, Baby Spinach, White Wine, and topped with shaved Asiago Cheese $17.19 :Pinkbounc

Yes, this one is AWESOME! I also got the onion rings as an appetizer and Wow! They were very yummy! :cheer2:

I've only eaten dessert there so far, but the Chocolate Tart was fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!

i got the spinach dip, the veggie bake, and the ice cream sundae. all were excellent.

Adult shakes are fabulous.

Onion rings are the best.

BLT soup was creamy and very good.

Chicken Sandwich was sweet, but flavorful and not overdone. Cheese and onion straws added great flavor.

Potato Vegetable stack was so-so. Zucchini, potatoes and portabellos were delicious but tomatoes were a little out of season tasting.

Shrimp Penne Pasta was fabulous. Order w/o capers if you're not a caper fan, though.

And no, I didn't try all of these on the same visit- lol- it's over my last few trips.

I like Sci Fi. It is one of my BF's favorite places. He is so sad we're not going in August. (We're going in Nov. Don't feel too bad for him) ;)

And if you prefer, you can always ask for a burger- with onions and mushrooms. Mmmm.

We went for lunch last October.

Appetizers: My DD, DS and DH had the chili, which was good but pretty spicy for me. I had the BLT soup which was surprisingly good! My DSis had the spinach & artichoke dip and it was the best! (Yes, I tried all of them - for the sake of research! :rotfl: )

Entrees: My DH had the shrimp pasta and loved it. I had the ribs and they were good, but I don't think I'd get them again. They had a sort of "different" flavor. My DS had the burger, and said it was dry. My DD had the ham sandwich, which was tasty, but had a lot of bread.

Desserts: My DD and DH had hot fudge sundaes, which were good, but nothing special. I had the chocolate tart, which was awesome. My BIL had the cheesecake, which looked awesome, but I did not try it. DS skipped dessert, I think.

We really like Sci-Fi. The atmosphere is cool (in more ways than one) and overall the food is good, not great, but tasty. We don't really go for the food as much as the "drive-in" experience. :drive:

I adored the Reuben when we ate there last May. All of the flavors were perfectly balanced. My DGF had the Barbecued Chicken Breast Sandwich and said she really liked it.

Overall, the restaurant was great. Only problem we had was we got stuck in the back seat of a car that had a family of 4 in the front two rows and when I asked if we could be seated somewhere else the hostess said it just wasn't possilbe (despite there being 4 open tables on the other side of the restaurant).

We didn't like the food much. Onion rings were ok. I thought the spinach dip was terrible, lukewarm with a weird crust, and DH didn't enjoy the BBQ chicken sandwich. Sorry, but I thought it was similar to subpar CS. I would stick to the basics like burgers and shakes if we ever went again.

Wow thanks everyone! I'm pleasantly surprised to see so many people liked the shrimp pasta dish. I don't expect anything great here for dinner but I just want to try the place out. A long as the food doesn't make us sick and we can enjoy the food enough to get us full, I'll be happy! :thumbsup2
