Men's watches...

You probably know more than I, but I found one that looked very similar to the middle watch for under $500 on Amazon. (http://www.amazon.com/Tissot-T-Classic-Locle-Watch-T41-1-423-33/dp/B000JKSS8M). I've never purchased a Tissot from Amazon before, but I assume they don't vary much from one purchased from a specialty store.

Yes, you can find Tissot very heavily discounted. Sometimes, not always what one gives up with that is getting the box and papers, if that is important to you. Usually you will not get a factory warranty, and sometimes the serial numbers have been removed from the watch . Watches that maintain value over the years have more stringent controls by the manufacture. Dealers who would sell watches to resellers will have their dealer status removed by the manufacturer. So if resale and and maintaining value are important to you Tissot is not for you. But most people don't care, just some of us watch nuts.

DH collects Invicta watches - until he noticed that they started mfg. in China rather than Switzerland, so be aware of that if it makes a difference to you.

Hey, Art 1! My (late) 1st husband collected several Tissot Rock Watches back in the 80's - I decided they were unisex and wear them occasionally. Cool watches. :)

OP, have you looked at pawn shops where you live? The pawn shops here always have Movado watches. It might be worth a look; you might find something new with tags.

I got DH a Tag Heuer watch for Father's Day a few years ago. It wasn't running & needed a battery. The first time I saw it, it was $599. A month later is was marked down to $229. After I bought it, I had a battery put in and it was send back to me in a Tag Heuer box. For $229 + $150, we have an AMAZING watch.

For everyday wear my husband wears a Fossil. His dressy watch is a Skagen.

:thumbsup2 It's in style for women to wear 40mm mens watches. My wife has been wearing a large Cartier or Breitling and prefers it to her smaller Rolex watches. Keep wearing them, I'll bet they look wonderful on you.

I spent the entire amount of my first government paycheck on a Wittenaur (sp?) watch for DH's 35th birthday. It cost me $300 at the BX. In 32 years. we've replaced the battery four times and the crystal three times and it's still going strong. Maybe it thinks it's a Timex?

Sorry I don't have a picture of it, but it's very elegant looking, very dressy, not at all high-tech
