I want to get my husband a nice watch for Christmas. Looking to spend about $500. It would be an everyday watch but not a sports watch. Any suggestions? Any brands to look out for? TIA.

This is more than $500 but I think it is so sharp!

Skagen is another brand DH likes.

DH has a watch fetish. I swear he's worse than a woman, when it comes to his watches and shoes.

If he were getting a watch this year, first time in 4 years that he's not, these are the ones that he bookmarked for me.

These 3 are Fossil watches at Macy's for $145.00

And this one is one sale for $180.00. He really likes this one, because of it being green. According to him, he needs a green watch.

He also showed me 2 Relic watches in a JCPennys ad, but he didn't bookmark them for me.

Most of his watches are Relic and Fossil. He wants another Invicta watch, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

I bought DH Invicta.

They are normally quite high, but I found one that was 995$ for 145$ on beyond the rack a few weeks back. Their models are gorgeous.

Eep! :scared1: For $500, wouldn't you be GETTING a dress watch, whether you wanted it or not? Maybe I'm weird, though, because I've worn Timex sports watches ever since they first came out. I don't even own a dress watch.

I need to buy two mens watches. I'm going to get a Citizen Skyhawk, still trying to decide on which one, I've narrowed it down to two. Haven't figured out the other one so I'm interested to see what other people like.

My husband and I love our Invicta watches. We bought them a couple of years ago and they've been very reliable. Love the look of them, too.

Michael Kors makes some nice men's watches too. Not too dressy, not too sporty.

Movado? DH has had the same one for nearly 20 years. I've had one for about 10. They are great watches.

I ordered two watches from Princeton Watch. They seem to have good prices, I got free shipping, and two free $25.00 restaurant.com gift cards.

I've never ordered from them, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have any problems. They did get favorable reviews when I looked them up.

Did anyone happen to notice that Amazon has amazing prices on watches right now? I just noticed a Lighning Deal for a really nice Stuhrling watch today that was normally over $450, marked down to like $80. (My husband likes Stuhrling.) Looks like a lot of their other watches are on sale in a BIG way, too.

In terms of everyday men's watches, I'm a big fan of Tissot. They're less industrial and less flashy than some on the market, but for under $500, it's hard to get much better. (Some might say Seiko and some Christopher Ward, but they're not really my aesthetic taste.)

As far as style goes, Invicta makes some of the nicest in that price range IMO, but I don't know about quality/longevity.

Amazon.com does seem to be the best place to shop for watches from what I've seen, HUGE selection and good prices

Tissot is a good bang for the buck watch. The one you show in the center probably goes for $1200, just a guess. They are the largest selling brand in Switzerland. OP, I would not spend $500 on a watch. It's hard to explain and a lot to get into here but. I would and do spend 8 to 10,000 on the correct watch that would maintain a value and could be resold. Or, I would spend less than 50.

You probably know more than I, but I found one that looked very similar to the middle watch for under $500 on Amazon. (http://www.amazon.com/Tissot-T-Classic-Locle-Watch-T41-1-423-33/dp/B000JKSS8M). I've never purchased a Tissot from Amazon before, but I assume they don't vary much from one purchased from a specialty store.

I have one of the citizen eco drive watches with the atomic timekeeping, sapphire crystal, very handsome watches for the money and automatically synchronizes with the atomic clock every night for perfect accuracy
