Mendenhall glacier return transportation

We are doing a whale watch excursion in Juneau that includes a drop off at the glacier. What would be the easiest/cheapest way to return back to the port with a party of 7? Is this something we need to book in advance? Shuttle available, taxi, bus?

We take the city bus. It picks up about a half mile away and is a couple bucks. There should be plenty of shuttles and buses. That place is pretty popular.

When you are there, check out the trails...one to the falls and others in and out of the woods. If you do, be sure to check with the rangers on their safety first. Also, if you do decide to do any extra curricular activities (they are very tempting), be sure you plan to return to the ship on time. Missing the ship is a real bummer and very hard to recover from. As Indiana Jones was told (somewhat), "choose and plan wisely."
