Men getting crap for being a Disney-guy?

My DH is an electrician too, and he talks Disney with the guys at work all the time. People ask his advise on where to go and what to do. They think he's so knowledgeable. Little do they know it's all because of me!! :thumbsup2 :teeth:

My mom likes to give him grief over his 'collection' of Disney shirts.
So of course he makes a point of wearing one whenever we see her!! :rotfl2:

I just happened to see my DH's hard hat the other day. He usually doesn't bring it home. It had a sticker with Mickey Mouse on it (one of the stickers the kids were given in the parks)-- that shocked me a little (in a good way though).

I had posted about a month ago that my wife drove my 4X4 Dodge Truck with the Hemi to work one day. All the guys were giving her grief that they couldn't believe that her husband would let her put a Mickey hitch cover on the back.

That's when she had to break the news that her husband had put it on. She just doesn't get it either, and has swayed my kids that way too. If I ask for input on a Disney vacation more than two times, I am accused of being "obsessed" with it. She doesn't want to know any of the details until the day before we leave.

Next time, I'm gonna marry a DISer.

I've recently became a Disney guy after my recent trip to WDW. But I've been very quiet about it, being a 30-year old single male.

The main reason why I signed on this forum, is so I can share about my trip and just talk Disney more freely here.

I would get a lot of crap, if I decided to go to WDW annually. Especially from family, although in general, they think going to the same place for vacation every year is a stupid idea.

One of the things that I would look for in a potential mate, is her love for WDW.

Disney Guy and proud of it. :sunny: LOVE the DVC, too

As someone else said, those who don't get it means less crowds for the rest of us. :thumbsup2

I get it too and I'm a girl. People are brutal when it comes to disney sometimes, so I tend to keep my obsession to myself and to my DBF (who is a fellow Disney fanatic). Even people that thought it was ok in the beginning start changing their minds once you plan that 5th trip in 2 yrs to WDW.

Oh I see that you're a cast member. What do you do at WDW?. I just found out that a friend of mine at work, a former Marine, used to drive one of the safari trucks at AK. He did that for a summer and can still recite the entire "Little Red" routine!

envy or jealous? peer pressure..means nuthing compare to my
family & their happiness....oh, i get "it" all the time....from my
friends at work and play. let see..because you like something,
they just have to express their....differerence of opinions? ha!
i could care a flying...elephant :dumbo: ..what others try to label me...

mr. disney..or whatever...

*sure wish my middle name was ::MickeyMo ...just think how
popular you would be..even with the grown ladies... :teeth:
but altlas..the best i can be...a lil grumpy. ( well, at least
my wife  me..faults & all..i know cos she tells me..
every day & she given me 3 wonderful/beautiful children)

i like me, for being me! quite simple...i believe it isn't essential
for the whole world to like me..as long as my family values my
well being..smart people are .. subject to others' envy and
jealously.. but to do disney...and to have the higest returns on
your [ to me my family] investments require knowledge and good
planning..besides , like anything else..the more you put into
it, the more one will be rewarded....with memories of joy.

i adopted the idea, that the best ways to prevent regrets in the
future; is to do the things today that you want to remember
tommorrow...disney is a place that makes this very easy to do...
2005...i set up a lil surprise for my wife at crt, to say thanks for
all the memories [we;re not youngsters other than in behaviors].
the reactions she got from the young princess: girl was..indeed
a memory for the ages! < & if you're marry...by the end of your
first year...you should begin the learning process .. of the "pirate's
ramson"...the rewards..for making your lil miss..feel like a princess:
.... ;) ..talk about a treasure chest...! :smokin: ..i get all sentimental
just thinking about..>

so much...my buddies are missin....is there anything more important
than your family happiness? exactly what's is the most important thing
in a person life...i think finding someone to share life with...loniness can
be so heartbreaking...disney magic, is capture in all the families coming
together to share their special moments...one of my all time favorites
came from when a mother of another lil princess: asked if her daughter
could sit beside ours...cos she believe she was the real ariel (well, if you
ever saw her, you understand why)...our lil princess had no idea but
the lil girl had the biggest eyes..you had to see them to understand...
*
i have...& will never forget this precious moment , from strangers..and
this lil girl...encounters you could never buy with a fortune or planned on
in a thousand years ..are the things a disney adventure will give...for all.

maybe frustrations on their part, heh? as long as you're happy and
your family....why waste time defending the oblivious? i'm feel
lucky..being older..where peers pressure has lil values...but my
message to you..don't let them influence your good feelings toward
disney...you will never regret it!

p.s..coming from one, who really never been a real big fan of wdw..until
my wife "forced" me to go..true...

have a :mickeyjum christmas and a :tinker: new years...

( between us..sure wish { on any star }..to find such a tinker bell
outfit for my lil miss cutie pie...hey?..noticed in snow white?..how
dopey kept coming back for more kisses..maybe he was given the
wrong name..gotta watch out for us quiet guys)

I wish I was a CM sometimes, but no I'm not. Its the automatic tag that you will get once you earn your ears. Its a Dis thing, not a Disney World thing.
