MemoryMaker photos...not so great... :(

Jpeg photos can definitely be improved using Photoshop. I do it all the time. I take old photos, in jpeg format, and restore them for people. The only thing you can't fix in Photoshop is blur. It will just never be great.

Oh, no doubt. But there's a lot more you can do with photos in RAW format. But I just can't see them using RAW and adding a conversion step given the quantity of what they shoot every day.

We were very pleased with our MM photos.

There weren't any that I thought looked bad (except when kids closed their eyes). Besides the ride photos, the best thing about MM is the amount of photos you get. Left to my own devices, we took about 40 photos over two trips; on just one trip using MM, we left with over 250 photos...well worth it to us!

I love the daylight, outside MM photos. However, I've been disappointed with the nighttime and indoor shots. Do they not have quality cameras to take decent photos in the dark? My camera takes poor photos at night, but I expected Disney's to be good. All of our night shots are blurry and poor quality.

I'd estimate the cameras and lenses they're using cost about $500, basically entry-level DSLRs. So without a higher-end lens you're not going to get great low-light pictures.

At night they use tripods (and longer exposures I imagine), which does help. They wouldn't need a fast lens for that. But for the quantity of people they put through those lines, there's really no way to put out consistently good shots, especially considering that most Photopass people are not really photographers.

On our last visit, we purchased 5 photos from PP. The one from Buzz was blurry and I emailed them asking for a refund. They told me it wasn't blurry and they don't offer refunds at all. I emailed them back, but got the same response. I agree that many of the shots from PP are just not that good, so I always take my camera.

This right here. Just like every other theme park out there they use kit lenses and cropped sensors. Works fine out in the sun but low light its going to be very dark due to lack of light.

In May my granddaughter and I had photos taken with Jiminy Cricket ... the photos the CM took with my GDD's iPhone were 100% better than the ones the PP photographer took. IMO PP pix are simply snapshots ... sometimes they are good, sometimes they aren't. But they do get the entire group in the photo vs. everyone but the mom/dad behind the camera.

Yep, that.

Plus I like adding the borders.

Last summer was the fifth time I got the PP/PP+/MM. We've got about 900+ pics during our 6 park days/1 water park/2 DTD. However, I did something new this year. I didn't take my camera with me. It was either PP or iPhone. During character M&G's, I didn't even bother to take out my phone if there was a PP photographer. Instead of taking pictures, I was able to pay full attention to my girls' excitement and enjoy the moment. I still had the autograph books to jingle with, but able to see them without being behind the lens was a nice change. I know PP photos are not perfect, but so is my photography skill. Another thing I like about MM is the editing. Adding the borders to the photos did help with my post-Disney blue.

Agreed. We have gotten many more good photos on previous trips, but I think we maybe just gotten lucky - or especially unlucky on this past trip. I'm still happy to have the imperfect photos, though. :)

I was disappointed with ours last September too. But we are giving it another try this trip. We will see.....

I'd rather not admit how many Mod Cloth dresses I own... :-)

Fair enough... I'd rather not admit how many dresses I bought yesterday after discovering Mod Cloth existed. :faint: I found a 15% online discount that took some of the sting off the total pricetag. But, I cannot wait to get that delivery!! My wardrobe is eternally grateful to you!! :thumbsup2

We used PP+ at DLR and absolutely loved it! It's fantastic to have shots of all of us and they seem pretty good quality, and I definitely enjoy the ride photos, even if I wouldn't have paid for them individually (well...one or 2 I might have!). The magic shots are really fun too. A photographer recommended we check in at the camera shop to make sure that all our photos made it on and all the magic shots worked properly. While in the queue one poor staff member was trying to track down a little girl's photos with A&E - I think the fact she was able to identify the correct little blonde girl wearing an Elsa dress was some real Disney magic!

Some of ours came out good but my husband's head was cut off in at least 10 photos! He is tall but come on! Adjust the camera!!!
