Is it worth it??? I am confused how it will take pics of us on rides even if I am not in them???

In my book a waste of $$. I bought the MM and the archived disc. still can't figure out how to make a calendar. I called for help I worked at it for over 2 hrs one time and 1 1/2 another and STILL don't have a calendar. As for the pictures, all your photo pass as well as the pictures on the thrill rides (TOT, Everest, R&R etc) are available to use also. Great stuff, I am just to old and stupid to use it i guess. waste of a LOT of money to me.

We got it. We have over 300 pictures, including ride pictures. However, the pictures they take (not ride) are like 3-4 photos quickly so they look exactly the same. I did go through and put stickers and borders, which then created more photos.

Once you finish you download all photos to your computer. Then if you want to make a calendar or photo book you just go to a site like shutterfly or walmart and upload your photos there and make them. Pretty simple. If you want to print the photos you send them to those sites too, again simple.

As long as the people in your group on your friends and family list on MDE and are wearing their magic bands when they ride the rides that have pictures, their pictures will show up on your Memory Maker account.

We debated for a long time about whether to get MM. My husband and I just returned from our first trip, and we travelled just as a couple.

We are SO glad we bought it. We were there a week, and got just under 300 photos to bring home. We went to NYC last summer, and came home with NO photos of us as a couple that we could frame and put on our wall, and now we have so many to choose from.

What we liked:
1. Only needing to carry camera phones. We didn't worry about carrying a proper camera as a result of MM.
2. Photos together :thumbsup2
3. Not worrying about how I would get character photos when I was touring/meeting them solo. They took the photos, I got to keep them.
4. Ride photos- we'd never pay for them separately, but we enjoy having them.
5. Getting better quality photos than we would have had if we'd given our camera or phone to a random (or even to the photographers).

As DH and I were both on my MDE account, on the day we split up and went to different parks, we both used our magic bands to get photos on our account without a problem.

I got back about 3 weeks ago and I took my DSLR and we also got the MM. I took about 1000 of my own pics and had about 150 on the MM. I like how the MM pics have the whole family in them while my pics have me missing. Definately worth it to me.

Congrats to all you tech savy folks. I spent $150 for nothing (plus the disc). I have nothing to show for it at all. I guess I am just stupid. I truly envy you who were able to use the MM. I thought I would, but no - not to be.

Did you download your pics in MDE? If you go to your MDE account, click on Photopass, then pick which location you were at, and click Link memory maker, your pics should download. Good luck! :goodvibes

I just ran through a mock process, even though I have no pics, and it worked fine. :goodvibes

So you had no pictures in your MM account?

We loved Photopass+, so we are definitely getting the Memory Maker. As for whether it is worth it, people's ideas of worth are very different. I would say if you are willing to put in the time (stopping for pics to be taken), it can be a great asset to your vacation. If you don't want to deal with stopping for pics, don't bother.
We did an extended family trip in 2013, and had over 1000 pictures after all enhancements were finished. It was really cool.

We used it last Christmas and loved it! We also shared it with my best friend whose family was there the same time. Between our 2 families we had about 400 photos. Then once I customized them keeping originals and making copies to add borders and signatures and cropping a few we had over 1200. We are going back this Christmas with my MIL, FIL, BIL, SIL and nephews and we bought it again.

Ok so can I purchase it now and then link it when I get my bands? What if for some reason I don't get my band till I get there- will it still work

How do I do that? I have dining reservations but no idea if they are in mde

Did you make your dining reservations online? If so, you have a My Disney Experience account, and you can log into that account. When you buy Memory Maker, it should link automatically.

If you don't have an online account yet, you'll need to go onto the Disney website and set one up. Once you've done that, you can link your reservation to the account (I'd suggest doing that before buying Memory Maker) and then go ahead and buy your Memory Maker :)

I wrote down the pictures I'm interested in getting, added up the cost and that's how I decided whether or not I wanted Memory Maker.

I decided to get it, ordered it and then Disney took away 2 of the pictures I wanted to get so now I'm at the break even point.

I decided I'll deal with it since I don't have a choice (no refunds) but this will be the last time I'm getting it when i go solo.

Will they still take pictures with your own cameras? At the photo pass stations

I am going to disney three times this year. If I purchase MM and go with different family members that are on MDE can I use it for the year or do I pay per trip?

Thank you.
