Memory Maker Questions

Hey yall! I wasn't sure where to post this question, so I apologize in advance if its in the wrong place. We have been on the fence awhile about whether or not to purchase MM, but I think we are leaning towards going ahead and giving it a try. I had a few questions first, though...

Are there generally lines for photographers stationed around the parks? Just curious if there is much of a wait to get some shots, or any other reason we might be deterred from actually utilizing the photographers and not making the most of our MM.

If we want some candid shots during meet and greets, do we need to tell the photographer that we have MM, or will they automatically go ahead and snap away?

During the purchase process, it looks like you must select someone from the reservation to "manage" the MM account. However, I want to be sure that both of us can get our bands scanned, so just want to confirm that once MM is purchased, all members of the reservation can utilize MM and it doesn't have to be just the person managing the account that can get their band scanned for photos.

Once the purchase is complete, will MM automatically be linked to our reservation and bands, or is there an additional step we need to take to ensure its all set up properly before our arrival in 9 days (YAY!)? Essentially, should it show up somewhere in MDE?

Thanks in advance for any insight yall might have. I know this was a lengthy post with quite a few questions, but I really appreciate all the help and information I can get! :)

There are many photographers all around the park and it goes very quick...very little wait. Just make sure you are all linked on MDE and anyone's band can be scanned.
For characters, we had some candid shots at say when character was signing the autograph book and DD watching, but you can always ask if that particular photographer does not do so. We loved memory maker.

Lines aren't terrible at all, they have multiple photographers at the major picture places, ie in front of the Epcot Ball and near the castle.

We never waited for more than two families in front of us.

Photographers will automatically snap away. They took some unbelievably cute candids of our girls excited to meet the characters.

I don't think you have to select a manager, they scanned either my wife or my bands and we moved on. Super easy process.

It should link automatically if you are logged in when you purchase.

We just got back. It was worth every single penny...they also automatically upload any ride photos on rides with that capability.

Manager may not be the right word for it, but one person does have to be chosen to be in charge of the entitlement - that person then is the only one who can do the downloads. Anyone who is on that person's Friends and Family list can then have their pictures added to the account by having their Magic Bands scanned.

Thank yall SO much! Definitely answered all my questions and made me feel even more confident in our decision to give MM a try!

Hi,

Just elaborating on my post above as I was on my phone and it's hard to type from there. This was our first trip and we got MM and was so happy in the end we did. I too had your worry of it taking too long, but as the poster said above, there are multiple photographers at the main entracnes. And we too, only had to wait for say one other family, which wa super quick. Then, they are also all over the park so you can get many different locations. I have some precious moments with DD meeting characters/princessses and also at BBB. (But bring your own camera too as they do not go inside the restaruants if you are doing CRT, Chef Mickeys, etc). Some rides are even included. We had close to 300 pictures in 4.5 park days. Not sure we'd purchase it a second time if we ever return, but I would recommend to get it at least once.

So glad to see this post and information! I too will be there in TEN days with my 5 year old grandson and went ahead and purchased the MM - when my children were little, as a single mom, it seems like I was ALWAYS the one behind the camera and have so few pictures where I'm in the picture with them!

Wasn't sure how the Memory Maker differed from the Photopass I've purchased in the past but it sounds like it's just what I'm looking for.

Can't wait!

I have a construction paper chain marked with numbers representing how many days until we are at WDW - grandson tears off a ring each day - we started at 150 and are now down to 10!! But he asked this morning if he could "tear them all off, Grandma, so we can go NOW!!"

Just another plug for MM - we did it last week and I have 378 pics prior to edits from 6 park days and while we stopped for pics, many of them are from the meet and greets. They got some really great shots of the kids as they first encountered the characters.

Now I'm working on adding the edits etc and I will say that the website is slow, but still worth it to have pics with me in them!
