Memory Maker questions -- leaving in less than 2 weeks

Hi all! I've been reading the recent Memory Maker threads, but I'm not seeing my questions answered. A little background -- I'm am staying off-site, not getting magic bands, and there is only 4 in our family going so I'm not trying to link up other family members to Memory Maker.

1. When I go on MDE to purchase MM, it says I need to go to Will-Call. Why is that? What am I getting there?

2. When I did Photopass 2 years ago, I just pre-purchased PP, received an email, I can't remember if I had to log into PP before I left for my trip or not, obtained a PP card from the first CM we got our picture taken with, I used that card for the entire trip, and put the card # into the PP site when I got home. What is different now?

3. For ride pictures, do I just take the MM card and the number of our picture to the CM to load?

4. Where can I get a list of rides that take pictures?

You can pick up a physical memory maker card there. You don't necessarily need it - you can link through your confirmation number if you want and then use magicbands if you get them or regular PhotoPass cards or the memory maker card to get your photos associated.

If you use a card, nothing really. If you have any magic bands or memory maker card you claim it in mydisneyexperience. They launched a new website in September so if you go to the old one you won't see your photos because only Disneyland uses that site.

You got it exactly. They will not magically appear in your account you do need to go and add it.
4. Where can I get a list of rides that take pictures? Thanks so much!

It's any ride that sells a photo. Currently that list is:

Space mountain
Splash mountain
Tower of terror
Test track
Rock n roller coaster
Dinosaur
Buzz lightyear
Expedition Everest

I just used Memory Maker for our trip last week. Since the MM confirmation number showed up in the My Disney Experience application, I assumed I didn't need to go to Will Call. I was able to load photos on my Magic Band all week including ride photos. That part worked great!

Yesterday when I went to download my photos, however, I could seem to download any of them without paying for them. I tried several different things including adding my MM confirmation number in the Promo Code section. I finally gave up and called WDW. I waited on hold about 15 minutes before speaking to someone. When I explained my problem, she put me on hold and said she had to call tech support. While on hold I started getting some emails from Disney Destinations about Memory Maker. When the Cast Member came back on the line, she said that the technical people had to do some back stage "magic" and that everything should work now. She instructed me to log out and then back in. In total, I was online with Disney for 38 minutes.

After logging back in I now had a button that said Memory Maker download. I did not have that option before calling. So.....I am wondering if I had picked up my package at Will Call if something would have been activated and I would not have had the problems I had. Does anyone know?

So.....if I had to do it all over again, I probably would pick up the packet at Will Call.

I believe it says "You must still visit will call" on your order confirmation. I'm leaving in 3 weeks and will be headed to will call before using MM.

Where is the "Will Call" that you mention? When I added MM to our package I was told by the phone CM there would be something for me to pick up when I checked into our resort (staying at POR). :confused3
 
Will call is only if you purchased it from the web site. If you ordered it over the phone it's attached to your resort reservation.

For the above it sounds like you never actually linked your memory maker to your account. You do so by linking the confirmation number or card if purchased online, or by linking your resort reservation if purchased as a package.

Tagging on to this post - If I am staying on property and have MagicBands I don't need to pick up any card? I have pre-purchased Memory Maker so it should be on my (our) bands, right?
 
I am now also wondering the same thing. I got MM yesterday for our October trip and it's linked to my acct already. I had a shipping preference for the tickets for MM i am assuming that's what it is for it said I should receive them before April 30th.
