Are you able to have more than 1 group on the Memory Maker? My best friend is traveling the same week we are and we were wondering if we could go in on it together. Do we have to link our reservations? I'll be getting it regardless but it would be nice if we could split the costs :)

If your accounts are linked in my disney experience, then the photos for everyone will show up in a single photopass. At least this is how it worked for us two years ago when traveling in a similar situation.

There is a way to have both parties on the Memory Maker....Thats actually how I did my last trip. We had like 8 families on a Photo share group. You add each other as friends I know that part....I would imagine someone who is much better can go into details.

Yes! It's a great use of memory maker!
Everyone who has an MDE account needs to link to each other through the Friends and Family list. Once in each others' list, make sure you select the option "this person can view and purchase my photos" next to each person (by going into Friends&Family, clicking on edit next to their name, click on the photos option).

A quirk when I used it and I'm not sure whether it has changed: everyone will be able to see everyone's photos when they click on the Photopass area of MDE, except our ride photos showed up weird. The person who purchased Memory Maker could see everyone's ride pictures, but the rest of us couldn't see them when logged in to our own MDE. That meant we would still get the download, but we couldn't look at them without the purchaser logging in for us.

At the end of the trip, the Memory Maker purchaser is the only one who can do the download - anyone else trying would be propmpted to pay. That means no one should bother doing edits likadding borders or stickers in their own login, because those don't translate/display in everyone's account. The purchaser will either need to do all the edits or share their login so others can do their own.

Hope that helps

This is super helpful! A couple follow up questions:

If there are only 2 MDE accounts (1 for each reservation, reservation 1 has 4 people, reservation 2 has 2 people - all 6 guests are in the "friends and family" list - I had no problem making our ADR's for all 6 people) and the 2 MDE account holders have allowed for photo sharing and each of the other guests on the respective MDE accounts are managed by those people -- no matter which of the 6 MagicBands are scanned, pictures show up?

Ride photos/videos - does the MM entitlement holder have to be on the ride for ride videos? Or can any of the 6 people ride the attraction and have the ride photo and video show up (although maybe only in the MM's MDE account)?

Really appreciate it!

Thanks :)

1) yes, no matter who scans their magic band out of your whole party of 6, the photos will show up in the 2 MDE accounts and can be downloaded as part of your MM purchase
2) the MM purchaser does NOT have to be on the ride. Just like with posed photos, any one of the 6 bands will capture the photos, but if the quirk still exists it might be that only the purchaser can see those photos under their own MDE account. Most of the rides that offer photos have a viewing area after the ride and you can peek at the pictures there. You can also choose to scan your band under the photo to make sure it's captured into MDE, although it *should* happen automatically. Some people report choosing to scan just to be double sure, but I never had troubles with the photos not showing up despite never scanning.
Have a great time!
