Memory Maker question…

I just pre purchased Memory Maker for my trip starting 5/21, I've never used it before, so when do I activate it? Sorry if this has been answered, I did a quick search but couldn't find a specific answer.

Thank you, I saw that, but I couldn't find the answer to my specific question: Do I activate memory maker now or closer to my date?

Once you purchase it you don't have to do anything until you want to download or edit your pictures. I believe you have 45 days once you activate it to edit and download all your photos.

When you get to a photo pass photographer just scan your magic band or they will give you a card. If you ride a ride with it first make sure you scan your band at the end. We rode Everest first and didn't scan the photo and it never uploaded to our account :-(

Also, you will be able to see your photos in the My Disney Experience app but they will have a watermark on them until you activate memory maker.

I don't think you have to do anything else BEFORE your trip or DURING your trip. Just find the Photo Pass Photographers, have then scan your Memory Maker card (if you received one) or your Magic Band or Park Ticket. AFTER your trip, log on to Memory Maker and mess with your photos. I always make copies of the originals and then mess with adding borders, sticker, cropping, etc... When you are ready, download all of your photos. (I usually do this twice- once when I first log on, and then again with all the borders and edits.)

You don't have to do anything to activate it before your trip. Once it's linked to your account the pictures will show up as they are taken. When you activate it I think that's when you claim your pictures and download them. If you do it too early MM may expire and erase your pictures too soon- depending on when it's activated in relation to your trip.

Thank you guys for your help! I just wanted to make sure it was linked to MDE and also on my fiancé's Magic band but when I went to look it just says to activate it. I guess I will click on the button that says "activate" a few days before my trip so that the first three days or whatever won't affect our ability to view our pictures. Thanks everyone!

I would recommend that you DONT do that. Once it's activated, the countdown begins to delete your pictures. Your pictures can be viewed from the MDE app, but they will have a watermark over them. That watermark will go away once you activate MDE and claim your pictures at the end of your trip.

I would also recommend checking your picture a couple of times a day to make sure they all show up. Last trip our entrance pictures in front of the train station did not link properly to my MDE account. There are a couple of different options to claim lost pictures. I elected to call once we got home. It took about 15 minutes on the phone with the rep, I provided the dates of our visit and when the pictures were taken, the approximate time of day, and what we were wearing. The rep was able to look at other pictures linked in my MDE account and then search for our lost pictures, and finally link them to my MDE. (I did not have to wait on the phone that entire time. Just provided the info, confirmed description, and waited. They sent a confirmation email when the pictures were located and linked.)
