Memory maker help!

The CM I spoke to about MM stated that the person with the entitlement would need to go back to the ride within a 24 hour period to add ride photos. She said that everyone on the account SHOULD be able to do it, but some photos weren't showing up so it was a safe bet to let the person with the entitlement scan it to the account. I'm sure it has something to do with the newness of the program and glitches. So, my DD18 will probably be riding some rides by herself or with friends of ours that are going also. I will get her to scan her band and get the number for the picture. If I'm in the near vicinity, I will scan my band also while there. If not, I'll return at some point in the day to make sure I have the photo scanned onto my band. This will hopefully circumvent losing any pictures because it's a new system.

I talked to a CM on the phone yesterday and she told me anyone linked to your MDE account can add attraction photos. I asked her 3 different times to make sure, but I still doubt the accuracy of her information. If others who actually used MM said only the account owner could add attraction photos, then that must be the case, which is a bummer! :(

I'm using this week and can confirm that others in my party have used their magic bands and the pictures have shown up on my photo pass account. They are available for me to download using Memory Maker. And I've already added some borders to some. This includes ride pictures.

That is GREAT news. Will it work the same with the card and no magic bands? (We are staying off site.)

We have magic bands, but I'll see if I can try this sometime this week and report back.

My DS just scanned his Magic Band at the big ride photo booth at the exit of the ride, and I had them in my account..loved it, I get the photos I want he gets the ride!

I'm going to hijack this thread some - sorry. :guilty:

I never received a confirmation email. Should I have? It shows I have memory maker when I look in MDE. When I ordered it, I also was told that they no longer mail the card/voucher and that I'd have to go to a photopass location to get one. Is this true? :confused3

Thanks!
This is what happen to me in our last trip. I had to pick up my voucher at check in then take the voucher to a photo pass location and get my card( I did not want to starch it to my MB. It was quick and easy.

I didn't use a card, so I can't be 100% sure. They may only give you one card with the MM purchase... I don't know. In that case, I would think whoever has possession of the actual card would have to be the one to add the photos (ride and dining photos only). If they give you several cards linked to the same purchase/account, then I would say yes. But again, I don't know. I know with MBs, anyone can add to their band for MM. If you don't have a band, you need the MM card in your possession. You can always add any regular photopass card that a photog gives you to your MDE account, but you cannot add ride and dining photos to a regular photopass card, as far as I know.
This is how it worked last year with Photopass +. You had to have the specific ride photo ("plus") card to scan at the ride photo booth. I had the card but my DH was able to also use it when he went on a couple rides alone.

I am assuming that many CMs knew this was how it worked with the card and therefore repeating the policy for the bands. I would also assume that if you do not have bands, this would be the case as the cards are not tied to everyone's account like the bands are.

I specifically asked for a card, and they sent me one. Actually came in a FedEx envelope overnight. That was about three weeks ago.

we did just get the memory maker card in the mail and I am wondering how to link it to my magic band. Do we have to redeem this or just use the card we got? Assuming this works like photopass +. Do I have to activate it or just show the card? Where do I view the photos to see if they all show up while we are there? Last year some did not show up when we were home and they never found them.

Do you have magic bands also? Our trip is in two weeks and I have not received a card. I just figured MM was tied in with the magic bands like everything else. It is linked to my MDE already. I hope I'm not missing anything!

If you bought it over the phone and linked it to your resort reservation, you do not get a card. If you bought it on the web site, you can get a physical card. With the card, you link it to your my Disney experience account like you do a park ticket and assign it to the guest who has an account that will be downloading the photos.

Thank you so much! I did buy over the phone. So, to clarify, MM is linked to my magic band and there is nothing else I need to do to 'activate' it once I get to WDW. When we have pics taken, I just scan my MB, instead of the photo pass card, right? TIA :)

I bought it through a link on MDE. I received a card in the mail. I tried to link it to our bands, but it seemed to indicate it already was. I called and they verified it WAS already linked to my bands.

Not to beat a dead horse BUT I want to make sure I understand this correctly.

We are a party of 12 (3 families) staying offsite. Me and my family have AP's, so we have Magic Bands. The other 2 families do NOT. Memory Maker will be linked to our account. BUT....

Could 1 person in each of the other two families buy a Magic Band (on property after we arrive) to link to their accounts in order to be able to add ride photos?
Thank you!

Thanks for the clarification. We reserved MM over the phone and linked it to our resort reservation. So based on this, I am not expecting to get a card.

Is there a way to get a card, though? I ask because in the past I found that the PP photographers took more photos for us when they saw that I had the prepaid PP card.

How long do you have to get the pictures downloaded? Is it still 30 days? Is it after the first picture or after the first view? If we are there for 15 days does that mean we only have 2 weeks from when we get home to get everything downloaded?

I would love to know the answer to this question also. We have almost the same scenario with another family traveling with us but staying offsite so will not have bands. How can I ensure that they can participate?

I, also, very specifically asked for a card and was told they no longer do this. I also called back (after I already ordered) and was told by someone else that I would have to get a card in the park if I wanted one. :headache:

Thank you for this info. Guess I'm less worried now. :)

I haven't been to Disney in three years so never used PP+. However, both times I did pre-purchase the CD. I would just tell the photographer that we had "pre-ordered the CD so please feel free to take lots of pics!". Not sure if this made a difference for posed pics but I feel it made a difference with character meet and greets. But maybe it didn't make a difference at all.
