Memory Maker card from Disney

Last week, I purchased the Memory Maker and linked it to my MDE account. Today, I received a Memory Maker plastic card in the mail from Disney, with instructions to present the card to photo pass photographers at the park. Is that a necessary step? I thought I only needed to have my magic band scanned by photographers...do I need to have the card too?

As long as the Memory Maker is linked to your account, you will only need your magic band.

No, you used to need it before the MagicBand days but now it's useless. That confused me as well when I got the Memory Maker for our last vacation
