Hi- I am hoping that AP's come back for sale by the time of our Oct trip. I have already purchased tickets (through Undercover Tourist) so I would be going on our first day to Disney Springs to upgrade to an AP and activate. Just not sure how that would work with MM. If I buy it in in advance, will I get refunded? Or is it better to not buy in advance and wait until I have the AP? But then what about the 3-day blockout... if i activate my AP on a Friday, will I not be able to get any pictures from that day (and Sat or Sun)?

Thanks!

I am not nor have I ever been an Annual Passholder. With that said, last week I asked Disney's Customer Service what would happen if I purchased a MM early but then upgraded my ticket to an AP when I got there. The Cast Member said that technically MM is non-refundable, but if you upgrade your park ticket to an AP, then they should be able to credit your account or provide you with a gift card for your previous purchase. Sorry, that doesn't exactly answer your question but I hope it helps.

I can’t answer the question re the advance purchase of MM, but I can tell you that within a few hours of activating your AP, every PhotoPass pic you’ve had taken in the last year will magically show up in your account!

There is no 3-day “blackout” for photos with an AP.

How they will handle ticket upgrades when/if they start selling APs again is TBD.
