Memory Maker -- activation?

so the wife ordered MM when we booked our vacation.
It is listed on her MDE account.
its the two of us and our three kids --

will all of our Magic bands automatically work? do we need to do anything before we leave? activate it or something? can you view the pics on mobile devices? and -- where do you go to see the pics in the first place?!!?!

We just got back from WDW and we ordered MM with our package and didn't have to do anything for it to start working. We were able to see most pictures within a short time of being taken. My husband would pull up the photopass website on his phone and we would look at them. Some took a little longer. All were usually there when we got back to the hotel and would pull them up on our tablet in the room. The ride photos we didn't have to stop at the photo desk they were already there.

We had one time at HS that they photographer couldn't get his scanner to work with our MB but gave us a card with the photos. The photos were not there so I e-mailed the photopass website and told them where, when, and what we were wearing and they were able to find them and add them to our MM.

Is there any reason to carry the MM card with you? Does IT have to be activated even though the MBs linkage in MDE doesn't?

I'm just wondering because I purchased the package that included the free Memory Maker, yet in MDE it still shows the normal option to purchase Memory Maker.

When I log into MDE and look at the pack, it says "Magic your way package plus Memory Maker" but under the Memory Maker section, it shows that I have the ability to purchase it. It shows you how to link a MM by entering the number from the card, but I don't have a card. Anyone know what I need to do to get the card or activate the MM before our trip? Thanks

Yes I was in the same situation. I booked the AP room-only deal with the free MM over the 4th of July week. Like you guys, my MDE page said the same things. Let me reassure you that everything worked perfectly and I didn't have to do a thing! I am in awe of the whole MM system and how it worked. Every ride that took a picture was automatically downloaded to our magic bands without having to go up the counter after the ride. It's really quite amazing. I would double-check each night in the hotel on my Ipad to be sure all my pictures were there, and they indeed were.

My parents package actually came with the MM. We are staying in a Villa so we didn't get a package. I would think I still need to link it so all of our pictures will be linked. Anyone know what I should do to link them even though I don't have a card or anything to link?

Wait, you don't have to go to the counter with MM like you did with FP+? Realizing I have not done enough research on MM, although I did pre uh (we always to the photo package). Looking forward to using it!!

If you have MM and a magic band you do not have to stop at the picture counter after the ride. I don't know how it works but it read our bands while we were on the ride and they showed up on our account.

The way I linked everyone was I went on my MDE account and my family (all 5 of us) were listed under friends and family and there was a place to send each member of my family an e-mail inviting them to be able to see and purchase my MM photos. When they got the e-mail they just accepted the invite and then it would show up on my account that they are able to view and purchase pictures.

I just preordered and it is having me associate the MM with a person on the account. I chose me. During the order confirmation it said that the person associated had to be present- was that just bad wording copied from when they sell tickets?

If DH takes the kids on a ride, their pictures will still show up without me there, right? If they don't exist outside of my account, do I have to invite them or how does this work?

Yes- I have the same question about being on the ride with my adult kids or at the park for extra late hours. Will their bands get to the MM photos without me? They are under my reservation, same room etc.

Our extended family has their own MM. We had some IT issues earlier on with linking our accounts with fast pass so we are leaving them apart for the MM.

Well, the chat CM said any magic band associated with my account will automatically update and send ride photos to the account.
Hopefully that is correct, it sounds reasonable. If you are looking at your "friends and family" on Disney's website, anybody who has an account will have a link for you to invite them to share. It sounds like if they are invited to share (and you both invite to share) then it should update them but I can't confirm that.

Wow That blows my mind about not having to stop at the counter to get your ride picture added to your account. I am so looking forward to that! Yet, I don't understand how it does it (cue The Twilight Zone music)

It is pretty cool. When our two sons were not with us and they rode a ride with a picture we could pull them up on DH's phone and see the picture of them on the ride.

I ordered it a couple of weeks ago and was confused by the card they mailed me, too. It's listed on my MDE and so I'm wondering what the card is for. Just a back-up?

I'm getting Memory Maker for an upcoming off-property trip. There are about 21 people linked on my MDE account, not all have magic bands. Will ride photos still download automatically to everyone carrying an annual pass ? If not, is there a way to scan a seperate Memory Maker card for each picture ?
