Memories that will live on forever! Oct. 17-24, 2010-UPDATED 10/7/11 and New TR Link

We haven't had time to see Indiana Jones yet. Hopefully on our next trip! I think it's great that you volunteered and were chosen to be part of the show. :) It looks like you did great! I agree with you regarding the parade, they really do have some wonderful energy! :thumbsup2

I love the hands on the hips pose. She was gettin' her groove on!

Great updates. You did a wonderful job as an extra!:thumbsup2

Love the parade at DHS, even though they have changed it since I don't think they really changed it much. Just added some characters? Atleast that is what I am hoping. The girls looked like they had lots of fun dancing with the monsters!

How fun that you were chosen to be in the show! I bet the girls loved that. And the parade looks like a lot of fun, too!

Great update! How fun that you got picked to be in the Indy show! Looks like you made a fabulous extra! I love the pictures of Ava at the parade! So cute. We never saw that parade and now I guess we never will.

I never guessed in a million years that I would get picked to be in the show! It was a fun little experience.

The Block Party Bash has always been a favorite of ours because of Monsters Inc. Both of the girls have been told many times that they look Boo when they wear pigtails. It will be interesting to see something different in the future.

So sweet! Where exactly are Tiana and Naveen located? What time of day were you there to see them??

Love your report! I have to DDs -- 5 and 1. I can't wait till DD1 is a bit older and the girls can really interact. Some of your photos of the two are just precious!

Tiana is located behind the Ye Ole Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square. Ava and I had scoped out the location on our MK day together so we would know exactly where to go. Her first set began at 10 and I would say that we arrived just minutes before 10.

Thanks! The girls just had so much fun meeting the characters together this year. I am afraid that now Ava is interested, Erin is already starting to think she is too old for the princesses! :sad1:

Since I participated in the show I need to go back and actually take in the show as a spectator. I was so intent on listening to the casting person that I missed out on most of what was going on around me!

Those performers amaze me. I would be winded just jumping off of the float!

That was one of my favorites. She has some really great moves!

Thanks!

They were having a great time doing the YMCA and a few other favorites. They have so much fun dancing, but they both have insisted that they do not want to take dance class. Neither one of them want someone telling them how to do it!

The girls thought it was great, but they were nervous for me. They didn't understand how everthing was staged and they were afraid I was going to get hurt. I was happy to know that they cared!

I haven't read all the comments, just your TR, so forgive me if this was already asked.
How tall did Ava measure at home? Our little girls seem to be right under 40" without shoes on. So is Disney's 40" really 40"?? Skylar is not even 3 yet but she is really tall. She rode the barnstormer a few months before her 2nd birthday!:) We are hoping she will be able to ride all the rides with us in March.

Ava was between 39" and 40" without her shoes on. If they are closer to 40" without their shoes they "should" be OK. It really did seem to vary a bit depending on the ride. Ava had the same shoes on every day, but at some rides she was really close and on others it wasn't a problem. I hope that Skylar makes the cut!

Thats so cool you got picked to be in the show. River was looking over my shoulder as I was looking at your pictures he thought the pic of you with your hands up was the funniest thing.

Thats great Ava got the nerve up to go dance in the parade this year. We missed Block Party Bash this time. I hope to catch the new parade in June.

Can't wait to see whats next!

I never expected that I would get chosen! I figured I should make the best of the opportunity and really get in to my "role."

The kids had a blast dancing in the parade. I love that Ava is really starting to come out of her shell! It will be interesting to see what the new parade will be like.

Following our fun at the Block Party Bash we decided we wanted to catch the next showing of Beauty and the Beast. As we were walking towards the theater Ava pointed down the street and said, "I want to do that again." We looked down the street to see that she was pointing at ToT!! Erin was shocked and said, "you want to do THAT?" Ava puffed herself up and said that yes indeed she wanted to ride ToT again. Before she changed her mind we grabbed a FP that would give us a chance to ride after the Beauty and the Beast show. While we were getting the FP there were some ladies discussing if they wanted to ride ToT or not. They were really nervous about it. Ava told them that she was going to ride and they were just amazed that this little peanut was so excited to ride it. I hope that Ava convinced them that they could do it!

We headed over to the Beauty and the Beast theater and grabbed a seat. We had a little wait before the show began.

I will warn you that this is one of my favorite shows at WDW, so I got a little heavy with the amount of pictures I took!

Ava was just enchanted by the show. I don't think she even blinked the whole time it was going on!

When the show wrapped up it was already time for us to use our FP for ToT! We quickly made our way through the line and Ava was so much fun. I was just so proud of how brave she was being. I got a bit nervous because Ava got pulled aside right as we were about to load the elevator to be measured again. Thankfully she made the cut because that would have been heartbreaking!

After another successful round on ToT Ava claimed that she now "loved that ride." She is such a hoot.

Wow, Ava is really brave! How funny that she tried to ease the fears of those women. Love the last picture of her on Stu's shoulders pointing to ToT. The look on her face is priceless!

Great pictures of B & B.:thumbsup2 I like it when you get camera happy, it makes me feel like I am right there watching it myself.

I'm all caught up ~ I hate when work and life get in the way of me keeping up with Disney stuff! Sounds like some good times were had at the beach and Hollywood studios, fun times being a part of the show! And I'm so glad Ava wanted to do ToT again - that is one of my favorite rides!

Looking forward to more.

I recognize that look.
It is, indeed, a great show. We have seen it many times, and we've loved it every time.

Such a big, brave girl!
So happy that she has found another awesome ride experience to add to her Disney fun.

Ava really shocked me on this one. After seeing her reaction after riding ToT in the morning, I would never have guessed that she would want to go on it again. She was so proud when she took that picture on Stu's shoulders.

There are just so many things to take pictures of in the Beauty and the Beast show! I just love how vivid all of the costumes are.

Wow! Go Ava! What a brave little girl! Very impressive!

I was pretty impressed and shocked. I am glad that my children never cease to amaze me! We went to the Mall of America this weekend and they have a ride in their amusement park that goes up and down like ToT. She saw it and right away she started talking about her love of ToT.

I have been away for four days and my husband told me I was getting crabby because I have been away from DIS Boards for too long! :)

The beach was a fun day away from the parks for us. We really enjoy our time at Hollywood Studios. Being in the Indy show was a fun surprise. I was so excited that Ava wanted to ride ToT again. It is also one of my favorites.

I recognize that look.

I think the kids are so funny when they get in a trance like that. Hate to blink and miss something!

ToT is one of the last rides that I would have thought Ava would put on her favorite list, but she has found a way to surprise me once again. I am excited that ToT is also at California Adventure, so we will be able to experience it on our California trip. I am curious to see if we will be able to convince my MIL to join us on the ride!

Following our successful second trip on ToT, we decided it was time to meet some characters. I had read on the DIS that at the Animation Building they brought out several characters in the late afternoon. We decided that we needed to find out if that was true!

On the way to the Animation Building I wanted to stop at Starring Rolls to pick-up one of the cupcakes that I have seen in other reports. I was disappointed to find out that Starring Rolls was already closed for the day! Oh well, it will give me something to look forward to in the future and I saved myself tons of calories!

When we reached the Animation Building we headed to the area that has character greetings. The usual characters were there, so we got in line to see Sorceror Mickey. As we were waiting we started to see some other characters roll out. Since we weren't sure how long they would be out, we got out of Mickey's line to see them. First there was Chip and Dale.

Next we spotted Minnie. Erin was so excited to see her because she wasn't with Ava and I when we met her in MK.

Belle was also out, but the girls decided that they didn't want to meet her again. They decided that they wanted to meet Lotso. I was a little surprised since they disliked him so much in Toy Story 3.

We got back in line to meet Mickey.

As we finished up with Mickey, another group of characters made their way out. Ava was thrilled to finally see Pluto!

Disney2010749Small.jpg

Ava and Erin spotted Rafiki. Erin said no way, but Ava was all for meeting him. We made our way over and once she got closer to him she started to get scared of him. Thankfully she didn't throw him book at him like she did to Buzz, but I did have to join her for the picture!

Mary Poppins and one of the penguins were also out, but the girls didn't want to see her again. I was surprised Stu didn't want another picture with her, since she is one of his favorites!

Erin decided that she wanted to meet Mr. Incredible and Frozone on our way out. She had a blast with them. They were playing tug of war with her and she had uncontrollable giggles. It was very fun to watch.

We had a great time meeting a lot of characters in a very short amount of time! Yay for the DIS!

Continued in the next post...

We decided it was time to use our TSM FP that was had gotten that morning! We made our way into the FP line and it took us about 15 to get on the ride. I am surprised it even took that long since this is what it looked like inside!

Disney2010760Small.jpg

The plan was to see Little Mermaid before heading out of the park. We asked the girls if they wanted to do that or would they like to leave. They decided that they would rather get something to eat and head to DTD! I do so love my children!

On the way out the girls decided that they needed to pose in front of the hat. You can barely see them, but they were having so much fun!

Disney2010763Small.jpg

We let the girls decide where we would eat and it ended up being at the Macaroni Grill. We had a great server and the girls were particulary good this evening. It was just a great time!

We made our way to DTD. I was a little nervous about the crowds since it was a Friday night, but we were super lucky to find a parking spot right away. It was just one on those nights where everything was falling into place.

We made our way to Tren-D and the World of Disney store. Since it was so crowed we just wandered a bit before heading back to the hotel.

Thanks! We had such a great time meeting all of the characters. I was so happy when Pluto showed up and Ava was able to see him.

I was shocked to find the queue empty. I think the wait time that they had posted outside was scaring everyone away!
