Memories that will live on forever! Oct. 17-24, 2010-UPDATED 10/7/11 and New TR Link

Nice shots of the baby elephant. Very nice lion picture, too. I love, love, love the safari, and I could easily go on it 3-4 times in one day. You see different things with the animals every time. You guys definitely got a good one!

Wow you did get some good animal activity. We always seem to get to the safari late afternoon and all the animals must be tired and taking thier naps! We didn't see the baby elephant at all:sad2: There was some kind of animal holding up the jeeps and when we finally got moving they said they had to let us off early at a stop I've never been to before. There were only the people from our vehicle there and it look like a cabin that someone lived in with thier clothes hanging out to dry and some other neat stuff to look out.
Your really making me want to get there first thing.

I'm joining in at the end of your trip but have truly enjoyed reading and living WDW through your childrens eyes. Can't wait to see how you finish out your last day.

BTW did you get to see the baby gorilla? I was there in June and it was sooo stinkin cute!

Great safari pics! The animals were real active on your safari. The baby elephant was cute & that's awesome you were able to see it running around!

You must be on your way to KRR? Can't wait to see if you got soaked or not! ;)

The safari is definitely my favorite attraction at Animal Kingdom. You never know what you are going to see, so it makes it new every time. We had so much fun seeing the baby elephant. It was just having a grand time playing.

I was pleased with the lion picture. Next time I hope to see him up and moving.

The activity of the animals was definitely the best we have ever had. That is crazy that you had to get off early. I wonder what animal was holding up the show. That's neat that you got to see something out of the ordinary.

:welcome: Thanks for joining in!

We didn't get the chance to see the baby gorilla. I did see her in some other reports and she is super cute. We didn't get to hang out for long by the gorillas because Ava started making commentary about their backsides, so I decided it was time to move on! :)

Thanks! I was really glad that we were on the safari first thing and we saw so many great animals. The elephant really made my day.

I think you are on to something! ;)

Great pictures on the safari. The animals were cooperating that morning.:goodvibes Oh, that elephant is so cute. The safari is always our first stop. I think it is the best time to see the animals, especially the elusive lion!:thumbsup2

Great safari pictures! I can't believe you saw the hippo out of the water! That is cool. And you are right about that baby elephant. So cute:cutie:

Thanks Ashley! It was just a perfect morning on the safari. I never imagined that I would describe an elephant as cute, but this one sure was.

Thank you! That was a first for me to actually see a hippo out of the water. I knew they were large animals, but when you see it out of the water it is amazing to see how big they actually are.

Those are the best safari photos I've ever seen!!! and the baby elephant is so cute, glad the girls enjoyed seeing him!

After we finished up our Safari we decided to make our way to Kali River Rapids. Ava was so excited that she was going to be able to go on this ride and "get wet." I, on the other hand, was less than thrilled with the prospect of getting wet.

Along the way we crossed paths with Terk. Terk was really interested in the girls and their pins, so Terk was trying to get the handler to do a trade.

Once Terk was done with the trade it was time for some pictures with the girls.

The girls also decided that they wanted to get a picture with Flik. I guess bugs in costume are fine with Ava! She really was a different kid on this trip. Just a year before she would not get near Terk or Flik. It was awesome to see her come around.

It was now time to ride the ride that I had been dreading the whole week. I don't know how many times I had mentioned to the kids that I really didn't want to get wet. They convinced me that we should all go as a family. How am I supposed to say no to that logic?

When we arrived Ava was measured and given a wrist band. They also stamped her arm across the band and that way it wouldn't be able to be transferred to anyone else. I have read that they give it to children under a certain height so they sit in a specific seat on the raft that has a safety bar. It sure would be nice if they could just do that for all of the height restricted rides. They would only have to measure once and not have the problems that we encountered on Test Track.

There was no wait to get on our raft and we were quickly on our way. Stu and the girls had a great time. Three out of four of us were completely dry following the ride. I am sure you can guess which one of us was soaked! ME!!!! That figures.

I made a quick stop in the restroom to use the hand dryers. There was a little girl in there with her mom and they were wringing out her shirt. I definitely felt her pain.

We grabbed a FP for Everest before making our way to It's Tough To Be A Bug. Ava surprised me once again. She enjoyed the show! After her drama with the bug that morning I thought it would be a disaster! I think it helped that she was sitting on Stu's lap for the last bit when the slugs and bugs left the theater.

We decided that we would grab a bite to eat before the noon showing of Lion King. We got honey chicken, orange beef, and some egg rolls at the Yak and Yeti. We ate in their outdoor seating area and it was a nice time.

We made our way across the park for the next showing of The Lion King. It was fantastic as always.

At the end one of the dancers came and asked the girls if they wanted to come out and dance. I was bummed when they both said no. I wasn't surprised that Ava passed, but I thought for sure Erin would go. She said she didn't want to because she is shy! Her shyness must have started that moment and it was over by the time we left the theater. :rotfl:

It was time to use our FPs for Everest, so it was time to go across the park again. Erin and I went first, then Stu and Erin had a turn. We had such a great time and decided to grab another FP.

It was time to let the kids to blow off some steam, so we made our way to the Boneyard. I really wanted to try Dinosaur. Stu had gone on it last time and he felt like the girls wouldn't like. He said I should go ahead and he would stay with the girls while they played.

I got in line and it said the wait was 25 minutes. I was considering just skipping it when a gentleman coming through the FP line said he had one extra FP! I happily took it and I was on the ride in no time. I was glad that I had a chance to experience it, but I am in no hurry to ride it again.

I couldn't find the girls and Stu when I arrived back at the Boneyard. I got Stu on the phone and he told me that Ava had found the Dig Site and I would be able to find them there.

At this point it was between two and three o'clock. We gave the girls the choice of staying at AK for the rest of the day or heading back to the hotel to swim. They decided that swimming sounded like a great idea. We decided that we needed to ride one last ride before heading out.

On our way out we found a family to pass on our FPs for Everest. It was fun to see how happy they were.

Up next: Stuffing our faces 'Ohana style

What a great day you had in AK. :) How cool that Ava was so brave! Swimming in the afternoon sounds like a fantastic idea to me too!

Thats so cute that Turk wanted to help trade pins.

I've never done Kali River Rapids because I can't stand to be wet when I have my regular clothes on. I would be the one to get completely soaked too.

I'm to chicken to try Everest. River loves it. Does it have stomach drops? Thats what I'm scared of.

That was very brave of Ava to do Its Tough To Be A Bug. When River was 4 we had to get up and leave because he was so scared he was shaking and crying:sad1: He loves it now though.

We love the Bone Yard I think River could stay there for hours.

I can't wait to see what happens next.

All of our kids (the girls and the cousins) love digging in The Boneyard. A great way to give parents time to sit down, get out of the crowds, and let the kids do some simpler things.

Looking forward to some 'Ohana face-stuffin'!
We have that on our agenda for Fourth of July. :thumbsup2

What a great AK day! How sweet of Terk to look for a trade for the girls. So, you didn't care for Dinosaur? Not my favorite either, atleast you didn't have to wait in the stand-by line! Swimming before 'Ohana sounds like a good plan, you better be hungry before dinner there!

We had a great last day in AK! I wasn't sure if they would choose to stay or go swimming. I am glad they chose the swim because it was starting to get HOT!

Terk was super cute. I love when the characters do fun things like that.

I can't stand having my clothes wet either. I knew that meant I would be the one to get wet! The rest of them thought it was hilarious.

I remember thinking Everest seemed more wild this year. I think it might have to do with me being a year older! I have noticed that my stomach is getting less tolerant with age.

I thought that Ava would not like It's Tough To Be A Bug at all after her morning incident. Thankfully she surprises me daily and she enjoyed it.

This was the first time the girls played at the dig site part of the Boneyard. I have seen it in pictures, but I never knew how to get to it! Stu said that Ava found it right away and that is where they wanted to stay.

I really enjoyed the section where the girls could dig. It was nice to be in the shade and have some time to unwind. I also liked it because it was more relaxing than chasing them around on the slides!

Have you been to 'Ohana for the evening meal? It was the one ADR that we made for this trip because we love it so much!

I am glad that I experienced Dinosaur, but it is not going to be on my favorites list! The guy that gave me the FP said that he got the FPs before he rode on it with his son the first time. After that first ride his son told him there was no way he was going to go on it again!

We've had breakfast, but not dinner. We have an ADR for a 4th of July dinner.

Love the girls co-ordinating outfits! :thumbsup2

my mum wears a poncho on any ride that even a drop of water might come near her, cast members have teased her and said she's being a chicken etc but she doesn't care she refuses to get wet!:rotfl:

ooooh, Ohana!:goodvibes
