Memories that will live on forever! Oct. 17-24, 2010-UPDATED 10/7/11 and New TR Link

Wow! You lucked out with all of those character pictures right together. They were all great! The Chip & Dale seemed like so much fun too!
The girls looked they were having fun in front hat!
Things were falling in place for you if you were able to find a parking space in DTD. It seems like it always takes us forever riding around & around & around before we find one!

How great to see that many characters at one spot. Was it a fantasmic night? I thought I had read that the characters only come out on fantasmic nights.:confused3 Or maybe it was the opposite?

Yay for getting a parking spot at DTD!

It looks like you had a great day. We had 2 DHS days on our trip but got there to late each day to get a fastpass for TSM so we never got to ride. We are going back in June and I've already told dh we are going to rope drop and he will be making a mad dash to the fast pass machines.

You saw a lot of characters I've never seen in the animation building that looked awesome!

I wanted to try Starring Rolls too but they were always closed when we wanted to go there. Maybe River and I will make a mad dash to Starring Rolls while dh is dashing to TSM!

Can't wait to hear more but I'm sad its your last day.

It was awesome that we saw so many characters in such a short time. Chip and Dale were a blast. The girls happened to standing right where they came out, so they grabbed the girls and escorted them to their meeting spot. It was pretty cool.

The girls are such posers! They were having a blast when they were in front of the hat.

That DTD parking lot sure can be a nightmare! We felt pretty lucky getting a spot so quickly.

Fantasmic was not showing that night and the park closed at 7. We went purposely on a day that Fantasmic wasn't showing in hopes to avoid some crowds. They came out a little later than I expected, so I was starting to wonder if I had it wrong. Thankfully it ended up working out really well.

We end up having some of our best times when we are at DHS. I think since it is a smaller park we are more relaxed with our touring. I hope you convinced DH that you have to arrive early so you can enjoy TSM.

The characters at the Animation Building were a fun DIS find!

I was pretty bummed out to find out that Starring Rolls was already closed. I really had my heart set on a chocolate peanut butter cupcake. Do you have anything in particular that you want to try?

On the way out the girls decided that they needed to pose in front of the hat. You can barely see them, but they were having so much fun!

That's what it's all about! :lovestruc
Those simple little pleasures for the kids are among the sweetest memories of a trip.

I just want to try some kind of giant chocolate cupcake:laughing:

I would think that as long as there is chocolate involved it shoud be great, right?

They were having so much fun doing their poses. It definitely is the little things that make life sweet!

Well, it is time to get started on our last day. :sad1: Our plan for our final park day was to head to Animal Kingdom. Following a quick meal in our room, we were on our way to AK. I had to snap a quick picture of this lovely sight.

After a short drive we reached the entrance to Animal Kingdom. Judging from the lack of cars at the entrance it looks like it will be a quiet day!

Disney2010792Small.jpg

We had a parking spot close enough to walk to the entrance. We had to grab a couple of pictures on the way in. Please notice how happy the girls are in this first picture.

Disney2010795Small.jpg

In this next picture you will notice they are distracted by something.

Disney2010796Small.jpg

All of a sudden Ava was in a panic! We asked, "what is the matter?" She insisted that we move to the other side of the sign if we were going to take more pictures. There was some other groups waiting to take pictures, so we just went ahead even though she was still upset.

Disney2010797Small.jpg

What had the girls so distracted and Ava so upset?

Disney2010799Small.jpg

Let's just say Ava is not a big fan of bugs! :rotfl:

We made our way to the turnstyles, but it was going to be awhile before we were able to go in. Stu was generous enough to get in line while the girls and I went exploring. Exploring to Erin means that we need to take some pictures.

We went into the gift shop to see if there was anything we just had to have. The girls tried on some ears and I thought they looked great in them! Of course I think they would look good in a potato sack!

Disney2010805Small.jpg

It was getting close to time to head through the turnstyles, so we made out way back to Stu. We were able to secure a spot right at the rope, so we were able to have a great view of the opening show.

It was time to head out on safari!

Up next: Could that baby elephant be any cuter?

Too cute about the bug.

I've never been to the opening at AK because we are never up that early. It looks so pretty and peacefull when it not crowded. I've never seen pictures of the opening show either. I really need to get on the ball with that:laughing:

I think your girls would look great in a potatoe sack too. They are so cute!

I can't wait to see the baby elephant.

I'm gonna LOVE this day of yours. I'm wild about Animal Kingdom!

Those girls are just precious. I smile every time I see them.

Sorry about the bug. I guess she would not appreciate the fact that I am getting together a center for my classroom titled 'It's Tough to be a Bug'. ;) I will have it ready for next year. I am hoping to get some things at AK this summer to put in it.

I am looking forward to all your AK pictures! :goodvibes

That is too funny about the bug. I can see my kids reacting that way. I love all of the shots of the AK opening show. We haven't seen that since our very first trip.

The AK opening was cute. It was different than the one we had the year before. Last year Mickey was up in the Tree of Life. We were right up front, but we couldn't see him since we were off to the side. I liked this option a lot more since the kids were able to see.

Thanks MeMom! A lot of their pictures make me smile every time I see them, even though I have looked at them countless times. This particular one of
Ava with the ears is one of my favorite pictures of her.

The whole bug situation was quite comical. All of the people that were behind us waiting for their pictures had to check out Ava's bug and they said they understood why she was so upset. You can't really tell in the picture just how big it was! She would enjoy your center as long as there isn't any living bugs.

The bug situation was a pretty dramatic way to start the day. Thankfully she was over it once we got enough distance from it!

I love the detail that was on the truck in the opening show. That would be pretty fun to have a Mickey net that we could use for fishing!

I've never seen the opening at the Animal Kingdom, that was too cute.

I would have reacted the way Ava did if I saw a bug like that too. It's so cute that she was trying to be nonchalant about it.

You will have to check it out! The best part of seeing it so well is that it means that you are at the front of the pack!

Ava was looking over my shoulder and saw that picture today. She was quick to point out once again that she doesn't like bugs!

What Great Photos! Thank you so much for sharing!

Thank you and you are very welcome! It is fun to share our great memories with others.

Love your TR!

The girls are adorable!

:welcome:

Thank you so much!

What a great memory that you got to be part of the indiana show, I'm sure your girls were so excited watching you, we actually thought that the fake audience acrobatic man was one of our favourite things about the show!:goodvibes

I think Ava looks a little bit like the little girl from Monsters Inc (Boo?) I can't believe she was so keen for ToT!:scared1:

Last day...:sad2:

Animal Kingdom- so wish I was there this morning! Well, except for the bug... Have never seen the opening show, looks like a fun little show. Can't wait for more!

Was that bug a praying mantis? Those things freak me out!

The girls sundresses are very cute. Sundresses are a great choice at AK because it is always sooooooooo HOT there!
Of course, I think your girls would look cute in potato sacks too! :cutie:

The morning opening show looks cute, we've never made it to AK at opening.

It was so much fun to be part of the show, but it was a little scary being in front of all those people! The fake acrobat was a fun surprise.

Both of the girls have been told they look like Boo many times. I think it is those big, brown eyes that make people think that.

I wish I was there today, too. We had a blizzard that came through last night with 60 mile/hour winds! Right now I would be happy if it was above freezing!

The show was cute, but MK's show is still my favorite.

I'm not sure what kind of bug it was. I asked Ava what kind of bug she thought it was and her response was "big."

Thanks! I agree that sundresses are perfect for AK. It doesn't seem like the other parks are near as hot as AK.

The show was nice since Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto were in it! It was a sweet way to start our last day.

For our first ride of the day we made our way to the Kilimanjaro Safari. Since we were right at the front we some of the first people in line. The jeeps weren't running yet, so we had about a ten minute wait.

Disney2010818Small.jpg

Stu and Ava were very excited when we were finally able to board.

Disney2010819Small.jpg

Our driver started us on our tour and told us we would be seeing hippos on our left. He seemed surprised to announce that one of them was actually out from under the water. It looked like an enormous pig.

Disney2010828Small.jpg

Disney2010829Small.jpg

We continued on our way and saw some more amazing animals.

Around the next bend we saw the sweetest thing! The baby elephant was playing and just having a great time. It was running around like crazy and it was amazing how quickly it could move. Could that baby elephant be any cuter?

I wish we could have stayed longer to watch the elephant play, but it was time to move on.

Disney2010856Small.jpg

I was excited to actually see the lions face and get a decent shot of him. Every time we have been by he is always sleeping.

Disney2010862Small.jpg

This ostrich decided to hold up the show for a bit.

Disney2010864Small.jpg

The animal activity was the best we have ever had, so I would say it was a successful safari. The girls were much more interested this year, but I think the baby elephant helped with that.

We stopped to see the gorillas before heading on to our next adventure.
