Hi Karin! I'm all caught up! I enjoyed all your pics from the empty Dream, and your VIP greeting from Goofy! Sounds like you've had a busy vacation, and you need this cruise to be very relaxing!

It's a shame they stopped the show! Tom and I loved to watch it!

The tea was nice. Maybe we should cruise together some time, you and I could celebrate tea together and send the men off to a "tasting" of their own.

Karin I don't know if I told you or not that when we were on CC during our 2011 Dream cruise we saw a water spout form just off the beach and we watched it till it finally disappeared, and we were the last people to leave the beach and ran into a manger for the island. He had been keeping an eye on it too. I can't remember his name but he had Austria on his name tag! We had a great visit with him telling us about storms he had experienced on the island. Later after we got back on the ship and were sitting on our verandah he pulled up in a vehicle and waved goodbye with the others on the island as we sailed off. I wondered if you and Tom had met him on your travels. Sorry I am so bad with names, Mick can't remember his name either!

Dinner again looks great! Sorry to hear all those people were not feeling well. I can only imagine if the ship was rocking what that would feel like.

It was a really wonderful dinner, but it was so funny, since the rocking of the ship seemed to make us really hungry while so many others lost their lunch.
And it really helped that we didn't mind the movement of the ships from the beginning. By cruise two we were used to the regular movement (which I do not feel anyway) and the rocking didn't bother us.

Your dinner looked wonderful!!Ithink I would have gone with Tom for the appie and you for the entree and dessert !!Great Fish extender gifts !! I have a feeling Samantha will be visiting Freiburg in Germany as it was a town they had to write about , is that anywhere near Austria ????

Rosie, on a cruise you could easily try both appies!
We loved all the FE gifts we got .. there were some pretty amazing artistic presents, some practical and some really yummy!!!!!
Freiburg is close to Switzerland and France, but about 700 km from where we live.
Please keep me posted on where she will be once it is all settled.

I can't believe I missed reading this report. I've spent the afternoon and evening reading it instead of doing my laundry and cleaning the house!

Wow, you are quick to be all caught up after your vacation.

One of the really nice perks of doing a back to back is that you get the ship practically all to yourself when you get back on! It was so AWESOME!
We really enjoyed all our cruises that summer - 3 of them in a row are just so much fun!

We sure seemed to have had our sea legs, as we weren't bothered at all. But the dining room was half empty and you could see many people all "green" around their noses!
AP was fun - especially since we were really hungry and Crush had a crush on us!

Wow! You met Günther on CC!!!!!!!!!!! We knew from Andreas the hotel manager that CC was in "Austrian hands" as well. We never met him though, so this is something to look forward too this summer.

Day 14, August 26

Nassau, brides, pirates and fireworks - Part 1

Today was Nassau day again.
When we woke up we were still out at sea, but the Captain Henry had told us the day before that we would only arrive in Nassau around midday.
Around 8am we were ready to leave our stateroom and we walked down to the Atrium to have breakfast at the Royal Palace.
We signed in and were led to a table and handed the menu.

It didn't take long and our server introduced himself and took our drinks orders, Coffee for Tom and Hot Tea for me.

They have really nice tea at the table service locations and I really enjoyed it. Once we had placed our orders another server came by offering pastries, and Tom got a

chocolate croissant. When the drinks were served we ordered our food. Tom ordered the

Swiss Bircher Muesli, Muesli with raisins, shredded apples and yogurt, again. He had enjoyed it the last time and was really looking forward to it. And there was something I wanted to try ever since I had read about it in a friend's trip report, the

Mornin' Tug Boat, a fresh blend of strawberries, bananas, almonds, raisin granola and low-fat yogurt.
It was as delicious as it had sounded and I really enjoyed it. For our hot plates Tom ordered

The Big Breakfast, a large filled omelet on savory toast with grilled tomatoes, bacon and baked beans topped with caramelized onions again and I went for my other favourite, the

Traditional Eggs Benedict, Toasted English muffin with grilled Canadian bacon, served with poached egg topped with hollandaise sauce, grilled roma tomatoes and link sausages.
We really enjoyed the breakfast and took our time finishing it, then tipped the server and off we went. Our next stop were the on board shops.
While browsing we saw a nice Mickey and Minnie Wedding figurine and we had an idea. We asked the Cast Member at the till if they would deliver the gift to a stateroom and he agreed.
We were not quite sure of the number, so we hurried up to Deck 7 and found their stateroom and wrote down the number. Back we went to the shop and bought the figurine and a card and the Cast Member promised to have it wrapped up nicely and sent upstairs to Michelle and Jon's stateroom before noon.
They were to be married around noon, so we knew they would at least find it after they had got married. We went back to our stateroom and picked up our next round of Fish Extender gifts to deliver

and started our exercise walk all over the Disney DREAM, handing out the gifts.

Around midday we pulled into Nassau and Captain Henry let us know that the Disney DREAM would not only be the most beautiful but also the largest ship in port, as we were the ONLY ship to make it to Nassau after the storm.

Haribo has a factory here, about 3 minutes by car from where I live. They have tons of cute stuff in the factory store and I thought they would make nice FE gifts!

Tom hates it, when I go shopping there. Since their products are SO cheap in the factory store (and they come in HUGE bags) I usually get a large shopping bag full for about 10 €. I do not eat their gummy candies and he loves them - makes it hard for him to stick to a diet!

Wasn't it fun, that on all three of my reviews/trip reports I posted the same breakfast? Shows, that we are definitely creatures of habit.

He really did a great job, sailing us through the storm! If he would just love the Mickey whistles as much as Captain Gus!

Day 14, August 26

Nassau, brides, pirates and fireworks - Part 2

Around midday we pulled into Nassau and Captain Henry let us know that the Disney DREAM would not only be the most beautiful but also the largest ship in port, as we were the ONLY ship to make it to Nassau after the storm.

Around noon we walked up one deck and tried Cabanas for lunch. It was packed, so far, not such a good idea to go there. But we both picked up a plate, walked along the sides of the buffet and decided what we wanted before we got in line for our food. I know that you should not usually queue up for food there, but it’s more a grab and go section, but since everyone was in a line we did the same. We both got a plate full of food,

then looked for a table, found one and Tom went to grab some drinks. Now here comes what I don’t really like about buffets. When we finally started eating the food was only lukewarm. Still tasting nice, but I prefer my food hot. After finishing the first plate, Tom got a second helping and I got some more salad and a slice of pizza.

I could not leave without having dessert , so I got us two chocolate chip cookies and some peach cobbler with vanilla sauce.

Once we had finished our lunch we walked back to our stateroom to get ready to head into Nassau.
Our Fish Extender was full again, so we put everything into our stateroom, had a good look at all the goodies we had gotten

and then got ready to head into Nassau. You could see from the ship that the storm had done quite a bit of damage to some of the houses and the straw market was destroyed.

There were lots of closed shops, but we already knew what we wanted. We needed some drinks, some rum cake and some rum. So we headed over to the Bacardi store, but it was closed because of the storm, then we headed to the grocery store and they were open, so we stocked up on drinks, bought one or two things to try out and picked up some chocolate for Ana. Then we headed over to the Tortuga Rum Company and picked up a few small bottles of rum for Tom to try and a few rum cakes.
Once we were done shopping we headed back to the ship,

as we had an appointment for the afternoon. Back on board we stowed all our shopping in our stateroom, looked for our stateroom host and handed him a rum cake as he had not been able to get into Nassau because of a drill. Soon enough it was time for our appointment, the Champagne tasting at Pink, one of the bars on the Disney DREAM.

Even though there had been the storm the water looks very nice! For some reason I would have thought it would be murky. I guess I am use to the north pacific... and here the ocean is ALWAYS murky.

Lunch looks good, but I do see a difference in your buffet meals vs. the plated ones. Buffets are good for quantity.. and being quick... I like them for that. I do know what you mean about cold though... and the presentation is never as nice on my plate when I put the food there compared to when someone else does.

Day 14, August 26

Soon enough it was time for our appointment, the Champagne tasting at Pink, one of the bars on the Disney DREAM.
When we arrived there were already quite a few people there, but we still found a nice spot to sit and they had already set the tables. About 10 minutes after we had arrived the tasting started and we were served several different kinds of sparkling wine and champagne.

We learned a lot about how they are made and how to tell if one is a better quality one than the other. In the end we were served a Champagne Cocktail, which was really very nice.

All the time while the tasting went on Tom and I thought that the Cast Member doing the presentation looked very familiar.

Towards the end George, the CM, explained how he had worked and learned a lot on the Disney Wonder and then it dawned on us. George had been one of the sommeliers on the Disney WONDER, who we had met during a wine tasting.
George walked from table to table to interact with the guests and when it was our turn we asked if it was possible we had known him from the Wonder. It was and we had a fun time chatting away.
Once the tasting was officially over we were in high “spirits”, but we were hungry too, so we went up to the Tow Mater Grill, and got a

Cheeseburger and Fries and a

Hot Dog. There is a condiments bar and Tom topped them both up and we enjoyed our quick snack. And then there was just enough time to pop down to our stateroom and freshen up a bit before we had to head to the ice-cream social.
We arrived at the soft serve ice-cream station and we tried a cone

but it was too dang hot and the ice-cream melted all over my hand. While I was still trying to clean myself up, the only other DISmember who joined us, Leslie and her mother introduced themselves and we found a nice table where we sat down and chatted for quite a while.
And right while we were sitting there and having fun, the newlyweds Michelle and Jon and went by. We had to call them and congratulate and hug them before they went off to see the rest of their family after a visit to the spa.

About half an hour later we ended our ice-cream social and Tom and I went back to our stateroom, where we found even more Fish Extender gifts

and it was time for us to go and deliver some more gifts as well.
We took our time and when we finally got back to our stateroom we find another towel animal in our room, this time it was a beautiful swan.

It was time for another rest and we watched a little TV, checking the ship's channel for information if we were to make it to Castaway Cay the next day.
