Packing up to move to Boardwalk. Somehow, I don't think the photos from there will be quite as popular. :rotfl2:

They will be if you have a refurbed room!!! And I can't wait to see any pictures of our home resort - it makes me excited to anticipate our trip! :cloud9:

Some parting shots as we walked out the door...

This is our first stay at Boardwalk, so I don't really have a frame of reference. I know the carpet in the hallway by our room is new. (You can certainly see where the transition occurs.) We have a blue and white striped awning on the balcony, which appears brand new. (Other sections still have grey and white.) The paint in the room is also pristine. The room is absolutely beautiful, without a single sign of any wear and tear. We also have the most wonderful view. We're on the 5th floor looking out on the canal. We can see the Tower of Terror, Hat, and Earful Tower in one direction, and Mt Everest in the other.

I was hoping to impress my parents with our DVC resorts (they own Marriott), and I think these two stays (THV and BWV) have certainly done it.

It sounds like you may have a refurbed room. I will anxiously await pictures when you get the chance. :thumbsup2 I am so happy that your family is impressed with DVC. It is always nice to share it with others! I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay!!

By the way - thanks for the THV pics on the way out. I do like the stone on the floor in the kitchen!!

all pics are great, and it is nice to know I could park the scooter under the villa, they can really take up a lot of space in a room!

Birds you are a trooper..
I just loved the video I don't know if you did it on purpose but the bounce seemed to be in time with the music... :rotfl:
I'm SO sad to see this thread end
THE BEST TRIP REPORT EVER... THANKS SO MUCH :thumbsup2

Sorry, I didn't pack a tape measure, but... the railing around the deck is about 13 pool towels long. A pool towel is about 8 dollar bills long. A dollar bill is 6 inches long, so...

I'm wondering what any passers-by might have been thinking if they caught a glimpse of you using your improvised measuring tape! :rotfl2:

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I just wanted to thank you for all the great information and photos on behalf of all us future THV vacationers. :thumbsup2 Here's hoping we can snag one for our next stay at SSR. :)

Hope you have a great stay at BWV. :hippie:

great report and pix. thank you. we have ressie for Feb at THV and the pix of the model room didn't really do it justice. I feel much better about it now.:thumbsup2

Thanks so much for this report! Great pics and information! We'll be there next summer with my brother and his family.. we can't wait!!!

What is the bus situation like at THV?? How do you get to a park??

Great,, trip report thanks!!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Using the measure path tool on Google Earth, it appears the path from the THV South bus stop to the Grandstand bus stop is about a quarter mile.

If you really want to "experience" the walk, you can watch this video. First, though, I must warn you to find your dramamine. LOL, I'm limping pretty good by this point in our trip, and the video is very, very, very bouncy. :rotfl2: My family were falling on the floor the other night when we plugged the flip into the TV to watch the day's videos.

Most of the time, I've got the camera pointed too far down to see much. I'm posting it more for those who are wondering how long it takes, than for any sightseeing purposes. ;)

Here it is... THV2Grandstand.wmv

Omigosh!!! When were you there???? That is my van in the parking spot at the very beginning of the video! We actually were neighbors!! I was curious the rest of the video to see if you would run into us on the path.

That is too funny! Were were there August 2-9.

Park buses do not stop at the two THV bus stops. You need to get to one of the other Saratoga Springs bus stops to pick up a park bus.

There are several options.

Before 11:00 am, there is an internal bus stop that stops at THV North -> THV South -> Springs -> Repeat. After 11:00 am, they add the Grandstand stop and the route becomes THV North -> THV South -> Springs -> Grandstand -> repeat.

Unfortunately, the internal bus takes you to the Springs stop, meaning you board at the last stop. Buses were standing-room-only on several occassions when we did this.

The internal bus was very convenient for get back and forth to the High Rock Springs pool.

Another option is to follow the path to the Grandstand bus stop (or stay on the internal bus until this stop if it's after 11 am). This puts you at the first stop on the loop, and you have a better chance of having a seat. The walk to the Grandstand isn't that far. You can see a video of it here. The walk is about 1/4 mile, and took us 6 minutes to walk it.

Another option to get to the Carriage House or Downtown Disney is the boat. The SSR boats take the following route SSR -> THV -> SSR -> DTD -> repeat. This makes them very convenient to get to and from the THV section, because you don't have to go through DTD in either case to get there.

That is too funny! Were were there August 2-9.

We were there the 2nd through the 10th. We were in 7034 - you walk right by it in your video, it's the treehouse on the left. I kept my scooter parked under it at night, but we were gone alot so you may not have noticed it there. I also kept it covered with a grill cover to make it a little less conspicuous and to protect it from the weather.

I too found this thread late but am so glad you answered questions that I had. I am a little concerned about the pack and play issue - being that my MIL and FIL will need the master for the separate restroom and our two year old was going to be in the 2nd bedroom with us. I certainly hope he does not need to sleep that close to us...

I am not sure what we will do now. We may need to do trial and error - or try several configurations.

Great thread, my family and I will be staying at THV's beginning 11/1 for one week. I have a question for you, does Disney supply charcoal for the grills, or do we need to purchase that when we go grocery shopping?

Thanks for all the great pictures and info! Can't wait for our trip! :cool1:

Loved your video! LOL :happytv:

You'll need to pick up your own charcoal, lighter fluid, and matches.

This has been one of the most entertaining, thoroughly informative threads I probably have ever had the pleasure to read on this board. :thumbsup2
