Memories of our Treehouse

I have one big favor to ask.

IS there anyway you can maybe step of the distance of the guardrails on the deck?

Here is why.

We will be celebrating my daughters 4th birthday and we are wanting to decorate the guardrails with Christmas lights and such.

Thanks

ABout how far of a walk is it to Grandstand from the THV?
Using the measure path tool on Google Earth, it appears the path from the THV South bus stop to the Grandstand bus stop is about a quarter mile.

If you really want to "experience" the walk, you can watch this video. First, though, I must warn you to find your dramamine. LOL, I'm limping pretty good by this point in our trip, and the video is very, very, very bouncy. :rotfl2: My family were falling on the floor the other night when we plugged the flip into the TV to watch the day's videos.

Most of the time, I've got the camera pointed too far down to see much. I'm posting it more for those who are wondering how long it takes, than for any sightseeing purposes. ;)

My DH is wondering if there is a soda vending machine and an ice machine at the pool house? TIA we are really enjoying your reports. So much info! Also where does that bridge go? OKW or DTD? Thanks again
I've not found an ice machine anywhere in the THV section. However, the ice machine in the kitchen is connected, so there is ice in each treehouse. There is a soda machine in each bus stop and at the pool, but at $2.75 per soda, I don't know how often you want to use it.

Thanks so much for the report and pictures. Don't have a trip planned to THV yet but definitely want to stay there. My boys would love it! Thanks so much!:thanks:

Thank you so much for posting this video! I was really curious about the distance from that point @ THV to the Grandstand bus stop! I called the front desk @ Saratoga Springs & they said you don't have to get off the THV bus to go directly to the parks but I'm not sure why she said that when everyone here on the board says you have to change busses! :confused3

Um.... ok.

Sorry, I didn't pack a tape measure, but... the railing around the deck is about 13 pool towels long. A pool towel is about 8 dollar bills long. A dollar bill is 6 inches long, so... if my math is correct, you need lights to cover approximately 52 linear foot of railing.

It wasn't my question, but I LOVE your creative measuring! :goodvibes

We just moved into the Treehouse Villas yesterday (split stay, did first half at OKW) Loving it! Love the report Dave!

We were able to fit the pack and play in the third bedroom and close the door but it is right next to the bed, which wasn't a problem for us since we aren't using that bed.

Ohhhh, that's grand.... which is about 1000.

Sorry your trip is coming to an end!! It's been great reading!

This thread should be a sticky!

Can you tell me if the entry door is wood or steel?

Dying to know what the fam said when you measured the rails with towels and dollar bills:)p

You would give McGyver a run for his money!!

Awesome pics Dave!

Eventually I'd love to book a THV and have DS and her family come down and meet us for 5 nights. Your pics have been the first I've seen that show the true feel for the THV once you start living in them. Couches pulled out, kids in the bunk & guys grilling. :rotfl: They're perfect! - Do you plan on keeping these up for long? Knowing me, It might take me a year to get a plan together to present to DS.

Thanks Dave.

Somehow I knew you would come up with an answer.

Sorry for the dumb question, but you are going to be one of the contributing factors to a four year old little old having an awesome birthday at WDW !!!

BTW, we keep a tape measure in our Owners Locker. Sorry had to give John a plug.......

Thanks again for this thread. You Rock !

:thumbsup2

Packing up to move to Boardwalk. Somehow, I don't think the photos from there will be quite as popular. :rotfl2:

I'll snap the kitchen and view from the front door pics on my way out the door. (The place has been a bit too "lived in" to take pictures of that so far.)

Hope I got to everyone's questions. If not, it looks like StitchGal is poised to take over. I'll pass the baton.

LOL, I was laughing about the little enole that ran across the bridge in front of you!

Thanks again for all your reporting. Have a great second half of your trip.

Thanks for all the great pictures and video.:thumbsup2

Does each Tree House have their own grill?

I really enjoyed your trip report. It was so nice of you to answer everyone's questions and take the time to figure out space issues --the pack 'n play/air mattress in each bedroom and the deck railing length, and how tight the bunk beds and pull out chair would be for tall teenagers.

Thanks again and do enjoy the rest of your trip!

I don't have any space issues on my web site, so I anticipate they'll be up there for quite a while. Mostly because I'll forget they're even there.
