Memories Collection Venue Photos

We had the 1 p.m. time slot and the sun was starting to reach Conch Key Marina. It was sunny over to the left side and by the back railing but the rest of the area was still in the shade. They had us stand further back from the railing than what's shown in the promotional pics on the website (to me it looks like they are right up against the railing). We were in full shade, which was good from the perspective of not squinting from the sun in the photos. We had the "circle of love" rose petals added and that sort of anchored it as a place to stand so it didn't look like we were just randomly in the middle. HTH!:goodvibes

What was it like with the boat docking during the ceremony?

I don't think any Disney boats transporting guests dock at Conch Key.
I don't know about about the boats you can rent. The photos make it seem like those boats are a bit further back.
Does anyone know since that is the location I would like to have my VR.
thanks.

There were a couple of pontoon boats (with the green tops) parked pretty much next to where the ceremony was. In terms of any goings-on from guests renting boats, when we were there the only "action" was much further back - some dads and their kids getting ready to rent a watercraft (if you look at the photo looking back at the GF, beyond the clock was where they were). I didn't notice anything or anyone at all during the ceremony. When we walked out at the end they were getting suited in their life preservers and congratulated us.

The boats to and from MK don't use Conch Key Marina.

I'm noticing in the pictures posted at the beginning of the thread of Conch Key that there is a dock running along side the sidewalk of the GF.
I would imagine that CM's and guests would be respectful if they saw a ceremony going on. I'll assume its not going to be a problem.

Sorry, my mistake. I meant to ask about the Narcoossee's Landing.

The other site is the right hand side of the dock. Note that boats will be picking up and dropping off on the left side during the ceremony.

I think Narccosse's Landing is really the most scenic spot but because of the boat dropping guests off I would (personally) not do it there.
If anyone has any other insight into that spot I would love to hear it.

One thing you could do is stand by the tree further up the path, but it's still right by the path.

I'm kinda surprised they picked such a public location for the ceremony. All I can think is that they figured boats only come, what, every 15 or 20 minutes during the middle of the day? And since the Memories collection ceremonies are so short, maybe you could squeeze it in between arrivals... :confused3

I completely forgot to post some pics I took of Conch Key Marina when we were there last month. They're not all that different from what's already posted, but I figure if you're like me you can't get enough pictures:goodvibes.

When we were there one of the benches had been moved up to the entrance way of the Conch Key building.

These were taken around 5:30 p.m.-ish.

So where did you stand during your VR? Closer to the building? How did they position the circle of love flower enhancements?
Is that where the bench was or did they move it completely out of sight?
I always seem to have so many questions (sorry).
I feel having the information will be helpful when I call to me make my reservation.
thanks again.

Okay, now promise not to be jealous of my mad PowerPoint skills:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:, but I created this visual for you:

The pink is the circle of love flowers. I think it was supposed to be a semi-circle around us but how it ended up was the minister stood on one side and we stood on the other (the dots represent the officiant and then us). In terms of how far back we were from the railing at the end, we were a little bit back from the second post along the railing to the left. The benches (there were two when we had our VR) were moved all the way to the right along that straight edge of the path before it curves. They were not out-of-sight and are in our pictures. HTH!:goodvibes

That is so great..... thanks!!!!
How did you do that???
Yes, it is a big help in seeing how it can all work out. The location of the benches is fine. I'm happy to hear they will not be on top of us or that we would have to walk around them.
You've been great, I appreciate all your information.:cheer2:

Ok, so where is your PJ? :) I am waiting for another married lady like me, doing a Memories VR, to do a PJ! :goodvibes

I'm so glad it helped! Ask away if you have any more questions. I love talking about our VR so it gives me an excuse, hehe!:goodvibes

I assume by PJ you mean a planning journel which I do not have a clue how to do.
If someone gives me some advice I might attempt one.
I am not what you would call a computer whiz!!!:rotfl:

Thanks for the pics. I like the Conch Key location - maybe you can put some flowers in the ash tray :rotfl2: Does anyone know what is the rain location for the Memories cermonies, especially at GF?

One thing to also keep in mind, which we didn't even realize was how noisy to boat docks were! We had our balcony open at the Grand for a majority of the time in room because the weather was beautiful, and my only complaint was the horns from the boat for the Grand and the Poly. Our room faced the lagoon and we were in the building next to Narcoossee's. I don't know how often they run but it would probably ruin my "vows" moment, or make it hilarious depending on how serious of a couple you are.
