Does anyone have the most up to date information on the changes for 2012? Does anyone know if the Passporter is updated? I called today and got some information, but I have to be honest, the girl did not seem 100% certain and in order to make my decision about on or off property I need to be certain. Thank you all!

This is what I got so far:

new price 2495
now includes 20 pictures 5x7
no more Narcoosees
May be offering these ceremonies on Fridays and Mondays in addition to weekends.

So basically the 500 extra gets you a few more small pcitures. Not exactly worth it I think.

So frustrated, they said they could at least email me updated info, email came= old information on current package. No one seems to have the info.

Narcoossee's Landing has been replaced with one of the Escape locations, Sunrise Terrace at Wilderness Lodge—a far superior location, IMHO, for its privacy and adjoining indoor space.

They have officially expanded the availability to Friday–Monday, although judging by others' experiences you may be able to have one on another day of the week if there's availability.

I think the $500 price increase reflects the cost of doing business rather than what they consider to be the value of a few extra pictures and a few more days of availability. The $1,991 price tag was a gimmick to celebrate the anniversary, and it's likely that it would not be worth Disney's while to continue offering the Memories package at that price.

I do think $2,500 is a lot to pay for what you get, especially if you're not interested in Disney's photography, and each couple will have to decide if it's worth it to them. I'm just glad the package is still available because it makes the entry-level price of an official Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding/vow renewal that much more affordable. :goodvibes

That is exactly the issue. I want to use an outside photographer because I am afraid of the Disney "roll the dice" and hope you get a good one. I also learned that it is 500 more to buy the photo cd (not too bad for a price) but that you also need to add 250ish to find your own officiant. SO now 2500 is more like 3250.

It seems a far better value to go with another package off property and use the extra 1000+ bucks we will save toward getting a good photographer with a more reliable product. I am kind of picky with photos and afraid that will be an issue. The package I am leaning towards is 1500 and includes everything except photos.

Are we allowed to just go to the resorts with our photographer and take pictures in our wedding garb or will we need some special permission? How many hours of photos do you recommend for resort photos? I am hoping to do piccs at the Poly beach ad Grand Floridian.

Can you please send me a link or pm on how to dl the Passporter? Pretty please?

There's no ban on taking photos at the resorts with a non-Disney photographer—only in the parks. People do engagement and wedding shoots at the resorts all the time. I'd say 90 minutes would be sufficient, since the Poly beach and GF are adjacent, but your photographer will know exactly how much time s/he needs. :thumbsup2

I was told today that there IS a ban and that we will not be permitted to do photos anywhere on property, resorts or otherwise, in wedding attire unless we have had our wedding through Disney. I just got off the phone with her.

I have just confirmed with Disney Event Photography that there is no ban on outside photographers shooting at the resorts. They even said that although they would certainly prefer that couples use Disney, there is no way to prevent non-Disney photographers from shooting at the resorts.

I'm not sure who you spoke with, but Disney is a huge organization with a lot of cast members, and it is an unfortunate fact of life that those on the front lines of customer service are often the least informed. I hope you won't let this spoil what should be a fun and joyful experience for you. :goodvibes
