Memorial Weekend

Ok, never been to Universal but the family is really wanting to go. The only time we will be able to visit is during Memorial Day weekend next year. We have done Disney 4 times during that time period and know what the crowds look like there during that time. How does Universal compare for crowds, since we havent been we will want to do as much as possible and if the Harry Potter stuff is open that will definately be a priority. We will have 2.5 days at Universal and will want to make the most of our time there but staying on site will not be possible.

As far as Memorial Day weekend goes, the parks will be busy as is any holiday weekend. IF HP is open by that time, the crowds are going to be horrendous. Since you can't stay onsite, I would strongly recommend getting there at park opening and heading straight for HP...if it's open by then.
